India is a democratic country where fair elections are conducted and citizens exercise their right to vote. They elect their representatives in the hope that their votes will not go waste and their elected representatives will fulfill the promises that they made during their election rallies. The citizens hope that they will be able to reap the benefits of development for the greater good. But do people actually reap the fruits of development equally? The unequal distribution thwarted by the vicious cycles of caste, class, race, gender grips in every society that builds up and the Indian society is no such exception. What happens when community members realize gradually that rather than being passive beneficiaries of the government schemes being provided to them, they can make a claim over it. This work is an attempt to thrust the community towards becoming active claim makers rather than just being passive beneficiaries. The members of the community work together, in order to achieve one common agenda, which has not been addressed for a long time. This work draws upon my experiences, working in Mohgoan Ryt, an Adivasi inhabited village in the district of Dindori, Madhya Pradesh. The discussions, in the beginning, tried to move me towards an infrastructural issue within the village- the road that connected three hamlets. This particular road, which was demanded to be repaired and built into a concrete cement road, fell into deaf years. Gradually, this issue started to reflect the true nature of the problem. It shifted me towards discovering the various policy mechanisms of the government, the functioning of schemes within the community, and the receiving of it. It also pointed towards the patterns of exclusion and discrimination within the very dynamics of the village.

Background: In recent years, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) have become an emerging pandemic globally with disproportionately higher rates in developing countries even at early ages. WHO identifies the six leading risk factors that are associated with non-communicable diseases among which physical inactivity and overweight/ obesity are mutually independent risk factors. Materials and methods: 200 students, 100 each from class 8 and class 9, were selected for the study and were given the format to fill up the required personal information (like religion, diet, and routine activities) and biological measures (like height, weight, BMI, BP, abdominal girth, waist hip ratio) were taken. Further details were taken from parents. Results: Overweight (> 23) as well as obesity (>27) was more common in boys. Religion or diet was not significantly correlated to BMI. BP could not be correlated to BMI. Still, 12% incidence rate of BP at this tender schooling age is alarming. High abdominal girth was not correlated significantly with BMI. Hip to waist ratio was more prevalent than BMI and could be the earliest indicator of the obesity even before BMI increases. Conclusion: Obesity and its manifestation like hypertension are commoner than expected at this tender high school age. Waist to hip ratio can serve as the earliest indicator with due confirmation and causal-web analysis, urgent action is needed.

Now a days synthetic pyrethroids are widely available in the field of agricultural sector to achieve the highest yield. Among the pyrethroids bifethrin has good persistence and insecticidal activity. Bifethrin enters through different routes into aquatic organisms and then accumulate in various vital organs of fresh water fish Labeo rohita which ultimately reaches the humans through food chain and shows its adverse effects. SDH, MDH and LDH are the enzymes secreted in the organisms for the oxidation of glucose molecules and for the liberation of usable chemical energy in the form of ATP. In the present study test fish Labeo rohita was exposed to sub lethal concentrations of bifethrin for different exposure periods i.e for 24hrs, 5days and 10 days to evaluate the enzymatic activity of Succinate Dehydrogenase(SDH), Malate Dehydrogenase(MDH) enzymes which participate in aerobic respiration and Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) enzyme which participate in the anaerobic respiration in various organs of fish such as brain, gill, liver, kidney and muscle. In this case study the levels of the enzyme LDH was elevated due to the requirement of quick energy resource (ATP) for the organism in all exposure periods whereas the enzymatic activity of SDH and MDH were depleted in all the tissues of the experimental fish Labeo rohita because of the reason that it takes time to oxidize glucose molecule in aerobic respiration. Under the exposure of Bifethrin in Sub-lethal concentrations on the10thday maximum percentage of elevation of LDH was observed in liver(31.57%) and minimum percentage of elevation of LDH was observed in muscle (18.36%) . On 10th day , the maximum percentage of depletion of SDH was seen in kidney (-30.77%), minimum depletion of SDH was observed in brain (-16.90%), MDH level was maximum in liver (-22.78%) and minimum in kidney (-17.02%) was observed when all the exposures were compared with controls.

Bipolar disorder is a disabling psychiatric illness with a high rate of recurrence, persistent symptoms, and impairment in functioning. The shift from institutional care to community-based care has resulted in the transferring of day-to-day care of patients to their family members, resulting in a psychosocial burden over the caregivers. Hence, Bipolar disorder not only affects the patient but also has a huge impact on the lives of the persons caring for them. This study has been undertaken to correlate Expressed Emotions among caregivers of patients with Bipolar Disorder for which cross-sectional study was conducted at a tertiary care teaching hospital in north India. The study sample comprised of 100 patients with BD. Convenient sampling was used for the selection of patients with Bipolar disorder and their caregivers and statistical analysis. Bivariate and Multivariate analysis analysis was used. The result of the present study indicate that higher use of maladaptive coping has a significant impact on the Expressed Emotion. Accordingly, psychosocial interventions need to focus on caregivers to reduce Effective Emotion.

Skin has several inbuilt mechanisms for interacting with the environmental agents and most of times it is able to protect itself from these agents. The protective ability of an individual is influenced by a variety of factors which include genetic factors, nutritional deficiencies, poor hygiene overcrowding, other diseases and intake of certain drugs. Ayurveda has described various factors which can cause skin disease. Vicharchika is one such kind of skin disease. This disease may cause problems like discomfort , interrupted sleep due to itching, withdrawal from society due to embarrassment. Acharya Chakradutta had explained many skin disorders & their treatment. He also stated many drugs for the management of Vicharchika and one of them is Doorva Swaras siddha Tail. Its swaras siddha tail is useful in decreasing itching, dryness, pain etc. helping in normalising the skin thus, improving the skin complexion as it is also described in 'VARNYA'Gana by Acharya Charaka.
