 Abstract

A lot of evidence suggests that cancer stem cells within a solid tumour initiate and sustain tumour growth and are quiescent even after therapeutic intervention by anti-cancer drugs. Several flavonoids interfere in cancer-stem cell-related pathways and therefore offer a promising approach for prevention. Quercetin is one such flavonoid with wide spectrum therapeutic effects. Potential mechanisms for quercetin in preventing cancer stem cells include antioxidant, anti-inflammation as well as the modulation of multiple molecular events involved in carcinogenesis. Synthesis of quercetin and peptide-based nanoparticles to further increase the efficacy of a promising nutraceutical. It can be used as a chemical template for combinatorial synthesis. Molecular targets can be identified. With the molecular targets of quercetin being known, it may be possible to develop more refined chemicals that specifically target those commonly shared sites. Synergistic effect: with the understanding of the molecular action of quercetin, the possible synergistic effects on chemo-prevention by using quercetin. In the present study, an attempt was made to synthesize quercetin encapsulated nanoparticle for target drug delivery systems and to try against various cancer stem cell lines.

 Abstract

The present study was emotional intelligence in relation to frustration among secondary stages with special reference to Goalpara district in Assam. The main purpose of the study is to investigate the significant difference between boys and girls in terms emotional intelligence in relation to frustration. The objectives of the present study are as to investigate the emotional Intelligence of boys and girls in respect of secondary schools and find out the relationship between the emotional intelligence and frustration among secondary levels students. The sample consisted of 130 (65 boys and 65 girls). They were randomly selected from IX and X classes studying in Government and Private schools of Goalpara district in Assam. The tools used as- Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS) to measured Emotional Intelligence by Khera (1986), Frustration developed by Chauhan and Tiwari (1972). The statistical technique such as Mean, SD and T-test were applied. Results indicate that there was significant difference between boys and girls in terms of frustration with respect of emotional intelligence. After a careful analysis of the findings of the study, the investigator was inclined to believe that the emotional intelligence and sex of the students are some of the prime factors which are highly related to the frustration influencing to a great extent the learning process in the class room. It was found that secondary stages students both boys and girls significant and always do not goes together. It was also founded that found significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and frustration among secondary students with special reference to Goalpara district in Assam. Therefore, the hypothesis two was retained. The measure of emotional intelligence and sex a high score reveals a low level of Frustration. A high score indicates an Emotional Intelligence and a low score indicates Frustration direction.

 Abstract

The pressure to be first to market with a new product has accelerated the development process. Today's process models require agility, defined as the ability to operate in real time and to adapt quickly to changing requirements and conditions. Further, the global, distributed nature of many projects-often developed now over the Internet and intranets-demands flexible, integrated tools. The necessity for agility has been with some businesses for several years, but it is turning out to be an significant factor for businesses thesesdays. Collaboration is the most efficient strategy for entering markets, as it gives numerous benefits such as a quick return on investment, lower initial infrastructure costs, sharing of expertise, knowledge of industry best practices, and, most significantly, quick access to future markets. Business agility refers to a company's or organization's capacity to produce revenue by recognizing changes in the marketplace, understanding prospects. As a result, participatingfirms drive play a part and achieve competitive gain over their rivals.

 Abstract

Soil fungi were isolated from different crop fields of Bikkemane (V) i.e. Paddy, Coffee, Ragi, Chilly, Potato, Maize, Ginger and uncultivated land. In the present study maximum number of fungal colonies obtained in Paddy field (206) followed by uncultivated soil (190) , Coffee ( 39 ), Ginger(28) and least in Potato field soil sample. A total of 33 species belonging to 11 genera and two types of non sporulating fungi were recorded from eight samples. Fugal class Deuteromycetes ( 87%) was recorded with highest % in all the samples followed by Zygomycetes (0.6%). Aspergillus sydowii recorded with highest percent contribution (74.35) , Fusarium incarnatam with 1.6% and 15.09 to 16.98 % non sporulating fungi. Maximum number of number of Aspergillus and Penicillium species were recorded because of heavy sporulation. The study area showed wide range of pH in Paddy soil with slightly acidic to alkaline pH, Coffee and uncultivated soil with acidic pH, Ginger growing soil with alkaline pH showed more number of colonies and species. The diversity of soil fungi vary in different plots may be due to the difference in pH, micro and macro nutrients status.

 Abstract

Senior citizens in India facing a number of problems and challenges, but the situation are worse in case of elderly women. In the countries around the world people aged 60 years and above, comprise less than 20 percent of the population in 2000 which will become 32 percent by 2050. The elderly progression is also related to family system, literacy and income of the aged. Due to reduction in fertility rate and adoption of small family norms, there is enhance in the percentage of old dependents. Aged people are mostly facing the lot of problems like loneliness, health and economic problems. Those are particularly visible among the elderly women. The healthcare industry has seen significant transformations during the previous several decades. Following the historic Declaration of Alma Ata on primary health care, the government has endeavoured to make specific and systematic measures to enhance public health. Thus, India has made significant strides forward in social metrics such as life expectancy, neonatal and child mortality, and literacy levels in recent years. People in rural regions and the elderly, on the other hand, are disproportionately affected by infectious illnesses; malnutrition and chronic health issues continue to account for the majority of disease burden. Moreover, the aged women are subjected several problems which are specifically related to their socio-economic well-being. This study intends to analyse the socio-economic and healthcare problems of elderly women in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu.

 Abstract

The present study were carried out on seed borne mycoflora of six tree species viz. Pterocarpus marsupium , Leucaena leucocephala , Gmelina arborea, Terminalia bellerica Neolamarckia cadamba,and Caryota urens collected from different places in deciduous and semi evergreen forest of Mudigere during October to December 2012. Seeds were screened for seed borne fungi by blotter technique and agar plate method. All six samples showed variation in fungal diversity with five common and twenty five different species. Among thirty species twenty five species belongs to Deuteromycetes (83.3%), three species of Ascomycetes (10%) and only two species of Zygomycetes (6.6%).The present study results revealed a high incidence of Aspergillus, Penicillium Trichoderma , Alternaria species may be due to optimum temperature and relative humidity. Presence of these seed born fungi on or inside the seeds reduces the quality and also percent survival in the forest.

 Abstract

The present investigation deals with to study the effect of Beta Amino Butyric Acid (BABA) induced defence responses in tomato against Alternaria solani. The BABA induced defence were observed significantly in the seedlings which were pre-treated with BABA as compared to the seedling which were not pre-treated with BABA, Moreover, the pathogen attack was more prevalent in the seedling without BABA pre-treatment. The defence response were studied by assessing the H2O2 localization, callose deposition, Peroxidise activity and expression of slWRKY transcription factors, as per the various defence responses under study, it is found that the BABA was found to be a potent defence inducer in tomato against fungal pathogen Alternaria solani.

most important novel of 20th-century Urdu literature. An amazing, sui generis book, River of Fire spans two and a half millennia. Set during four Indian epochs (the classical, the medieval, the colonial, and the modern post-national), the novel is a meditation on history and human nature, tracing four souls through time. Each section is linked by characters who bear, in every period, the same names: Gautam, Champa, Kamal, and Cyril. Gautam (appearing first as a student of mysticism at the Forest University of Shravasti in the 4th century B.C.E.) and Champa (throughout embodying the enigmatic experience of Indian women) begin and end the novel;

 Abstract

India's Rural Development is one of the key factors of India's economic growth. India is primarily an agricultural-based country. Agriculture accounts for about one-fifth of the gross domestic product in India. In order to increase agricultural growth, the Government has developed a number of programs related to rural development in India. The Department of Rural Development in India is the executive body for formulating policies, regulations and actions related to the development of the rural sector. Agriculture, handicrafts, fishing, poultry, and diaries are the main contributors to business and the local economy. The development of rural India has undergone a few changes over the years in its emphasis, methods, strategies and plans. It has taken on a whole new dimension and ideas as a result. Rural development can only be rich and meaningful through customer participation in development. Just as implementation is the backbone of planning, human participation is the backbone of rural development. Human participation is one of the key requirements of the development process both technically and philosophically. For development planners and managers it is important to solicit the participation of different rural groups, to make programs more participatory.

 Abstract

The biodegradation of cellulose under the influence of the polyenzymatic cellulase complex is a fairly involved biochemical process. Its effectiveness is dependent primarily on the composition and properties of cellulose preparations, the structure of substrate, the conditions under which reactions are carried out and the concentration of the hydrolytic products, accumulating in the reaction system. Availability of water is the most important parameter for enzymatic activity of the cellulase. Only a few species among the fungi are able to germinate and grow at water activity value of the substrate below 0.8. As such, commercial textile laundering and dry cleaning stuffs report an increase in fungal damage, mainly caused by damp storage condition. The present work deals with the isolation and Characterization of a cellulose - degrading enzyme from ascomycetes fungus, Neurospora crassa. This mutant carrying deletions of two genes encoding extracellular beta- glucosidase lacks beta- glucosidase activity, but efficiently induces cellulase gene expression in the presence of cellobiose, cellotriose or cellotetraose as a sole carbon source.
