 Abstract

ABSTRACT In the 15th century AD the social fabric of India was torn by all round degradation and cultural distortion and corruption permeated all section of the society, right from the ruling class to the priestly class. Various malpractices were committed in the name of religion, which vitiated the social structure. There were people who loosely adhered to Vaishnavism or Saivism and there were others who practiced Saktism bordering on extreme Tantricism. The followers of these cults indulged in evil practices like animal and human sacrifices, magical rites, spells and the like. The poor and downtrodden people became victims of these ghastly practices. It was at this juncture, that the great spiritual leader, social reformer, playwright and composer- Srimanta Sankaraadeva appeared on the social scene of Assam. He was a multi-faceted genius who gave a direction to the chaotic Assamese society by initiating a fresh approach to the existing Vaishnava religion that gave rise to a set of new values and aided in social synthesis. Vaishnavism has been constantly playing a significant role in the process of assimilating diverse elements- indigenous and non-indigenous into the Assamese culture. The movement evolved new institutions of Satra and Namghar which began to serve not only as the instrument spreading the faith, but also helped to sustain and to stabilize Vaishnavism by making it a part and parcel of Assamese social and cultural life. With its dynamic philosophy of inclusiveness Sankardevas Neo-Vaishnavism has given birth to a new Cultural Nationalism focused on a national identity shaped by cultural traditions and language, not on the concept of common ancestry or race. The Cultural Nationalism was brought forward to the indigenous people with the help of Satras and Namghar which has a major role to play in the preservation and development of the indigenous culture of the region.

 Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Osteoarthritis (O.A) is a degenerative joint disease. The ends of bones are covered with protective tissue called cartilage. When cartilage wears away completely, the cushioning buffer that it provides disappears, allowing for bone-on-bone contact. This can cause intense pain and other symptoms like tenderness ,stiffness and inflammation associated with OA.(1) Interferential therapy (IFT) is a low frequency currents produced when two medium frequency cross each other. The stimulation of giant diameter afferent fibers that inhibit the doorway of algid stimuli into the posterior horn of the medulla through small diameter afferent fibers there is evidence that IFT may inhibit the nociceptive stimulus.(2) The effect of IFT on pain is calculated using Numerical Rating Scale (NRS)

 Abstract

The ends of bones are covered with protective tissue called cartilage. Cartilage is a tough, rubbery substance thats flexible and softer than bone. Its job is to protect the ends of bones within a joint and allow them to move easily against each other. When cartilage breaks down, these bone surfaces become pitted and rough. This can cause pain within the joint, and irritation in surrounding tissues. Damaged cartilage cant repair itself. This is because cartilage doesnt contain any blood vessels. When cartilage wears away completely, the cushioning buffer that it provides disappears, allowing for bone-on-bone contact. This can cause intense pain and other symptoms associated with OA.(1)

 Abstract

Alwars were wandering mystics of south India. There were twelve of them who composed bhakti songs of Lord Vi??u. The compilation of their songs is called Divyaprabandham. In these beautiful ballads they have describrd108 divine temples of mah?vi??ucalled Divyade?am which have scattered around all over India. Among them eleven temples are situated In Kerala. This paper deals with the daily and yearly rituals of the Divyade?am temples of Kerala. The divyadesam culture is less popular in Kerala as compared to other south Indian states. As this is a field study, the information given in the paper is mainly based on the interviews done with the chief priests and local people related to these temples. This study intends to shed some light on the general ritualistic worship of kerala based on these eleven temples.

 Abstract

While the total length of the rural road was only 3,54,530 kilometers in 1970-71, recently it has increased to 24,50,559 kilometers. These statistics confirm the importance attached to rural road development as part of the overall development of the country. In addition, studies show that public investment in infrastructure, especially in the rehabilitation of rural roads, improves the local community and market development. Studies on rural road development in several countries have shown growth male wages in agriculture and cumulative crop indices (Bangladesh), increased availability food, primary school graduation rates and farm workers' wages (Vietnam), etc. However, studies of Indian rural roads are practically absent.

The Waste plastic and its disposal is a major thread to the environment which results in pollution in global warming. The utilization of plastic waste in bituminous mines in to enhance its properties and also its strength. Disposal of waste plastic is a major problem its non-biodegradable and causes environmental pollution. The waste plastic is shredded and coated over aggregate and mixed with hot bitumen and result mixed is used for pavement construction. After mixing the mixture is laid as one would with regular asphalt concrete. According to toxic link report 3.6 million tonnes plastic is produced in 2019. It means 9206 tonnes plastic per day.

 Abstract

The disposal of Industrial Waste is becoming a very large problem and industrial waste is increasing day by day. Now It is necessity to use the steel slag waste through technical development in each field. Its disposal causing severe health and environmental hazards in road construction industries is gradually gaining significant importance in India considering the disposal, environmental problems and gradual depletion of natural resources like soil and aggregates The waste material which is a by-product during the manufacturing of steel from steel industries is Steel Slag. The quantity of generation is around 24 lacs MT per year from (Ref.Report.CRRI-2010) different steel industries in the India. Presently, it has no applications and dumped haphazardly on the costly land available near the plants. In this study, a typical steel slag was collected from an M/s Tata Steel industry Pvt. Ltd. Jaipur , (M.S) in India and its feasibility for use in different layers of road construction was investigated. To improve its Geotechnical engineering properties, the Steel Slag material was mechanically stabilized with locally available soil in the range of 5 25%. to investigate their suitability in the construction of different layers of road Technical specification Geotechnical parameters of these stabilized mixes were evaluated. Construction of embankment, sub grade and sub base layer of Flexible pavement can be done through steel slag.

 Abstract

The plastic wastes could be used in road construction and the field tests withstood the stress and proved that plastic wastes used after proper processing as an additive would enhance the life of the roads and also solve environmental problems. Plastic use in road construction is not new. It is already in use as PVC or HDPE pipe mat crossings built by cabling together PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or HDPE (high-density poly-ethylene) pipes to form plastic mats. Waste plastic is ground and made into powder; 3 to 4 % plastic is mixed with the bitumen. The durability of the roads laid out with shredded plastic waste is much more compared with roads with asphalt with the ordinary mix. The use of the innovative technology not only strengthened the road construction but also increased the road life as well as will help to improve the environment and also creating a source of income.

 Abstract

The study presented in this chapter shows that the fly ash can partially replace the sand in cement concretes. This type of fly concrete has lower density and manufacturing cost. it reduced coarse aggregate content and increases durability than those of cement concrete. The large production of fly ash in India ,which is more than 200 million tons per year at present which could increase to about 900 million tons per year over the next 20 years need application that consume far more quantities than todays applications allow .In this FA as substitute material (partial to total) for aggregate system (both fine and coarse) in concrete is attractive.

 Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to analyse the road accidents in Rajasthan state at divisional level. Analysis shows the distribution of road accidental deaths and injuries in Rajasthan. Moreover, road accidents are relatively higher in extreme weather and during working hours. Analysis of road accident scenario at division and districts level shows that there is a huge variation in fatality risk across. Fatality risk in 1divisionalout of 7 is higher than the all Rajasthan average. This paper present reviews on the road accident analysis in Rajasthan. In order to applaud the scale of the accident tragedy in the state, it is common exercise to relate the number of road accidents (deaths and injuries) in districts and division of Rajasthan.

 Abstract

The Study has been undertaken because Road safety is an issue of major importance in all countries. Studies focused on geometric design and safety focuses on the improvement of highway design and to eliminate hazardous locations. The relationship between accident rates and geometric design elements is complex and not fully understood. Relatively little information is available on relationships regarding this. In this paper, road geometric design elements and characteristics are taken into consideration, and explanations are given on which extent they affect highway safety. Although it's been clearly shown that geometric elements like very short sight distances or sharp horizontal curve leads to a considerably higher accident rates which certain combinations of elements causes severe accident problem. It compares the results of studies in several countries and summarizes current international knowledge of relationship between safety and therefore the principal non-intersection geometric design parameters. These relationships between road geometric design and safety are studied through results made in different countries. In general, there's broad international agreement on these relationships.

As a result, individuals may develop a range of issues, leading to many hospitalizations and high rates of morbidity and mortality. One of the goals of this study is to look at the status of nutrition among cirrhotic patients, as well as look into other factors that might be linked to malnutrition. Further, any possible links between nutrition and cirrhosis were investigated in order to better assess and manage individuals with cirrhosis and improve their outcomes. Aim: To investigate the indicators and risk factors associated with malnutrition in cirrhotic patients Subjects: A convenient sample of 60 adult male and female patients with a confirmed diagnosis of liver cirrhosis admitted to the Medical Hospital Cairo University. Results: This study shows that malnutrition indicators, anthropometric arm indicators and biochemical assessment can be useful techniques for assessing nutritional status in cirrhotic patients. According to the findings, various socio-demographic characteristics including age, gender, marital status, occupational status, etiology of liver cirrhosis have an important link with liver diseases, malnutrition in patients. Anthropometric measurements and biochemical parameters are in support of this.
