MEMS is generally considered as a micro-system, which is an integration of sensors, actuators and micro-electronic circuits on silicon substrate ranging from sub-micron level to few millimetre levels by using micro-fabrication technology. These compact, cost effective and highly sophisticated devices are found to replace the bulky counterparts efficiently in many traditional applications. Now-a-days, MEMS has been getting wide popularity in various fields of research such as aero-space, bio-medical, consumer electronics, communication, automation etc. and so is becoming an interdisciplinary field of engineering research. The most adorable feature of MEMS is the ability to integrate sensing, controlling and actuating functions on a single chip. Here, an attempt has been made to cover the application of MEMS in pressure sensor system, where diaphragm is observed to play a vital rule. The efficiency of a pressure sensor mostly depends on the design of the diaphragm and location of sensing materials. We have investigated the effect of size and thickness of the Si-diaphragm and ZnO piezoelectric material blocks on pressures sensors constituting of Si-diaphragm, SiO2-insulator and ZnO-piezoelectric blocks. The effects have been measured in terms of three vary important parameters of pressure sensors viz. stress experienced, voltage induced and deflection taken place. The values for these three parameters are calculated via mathematical modelling and computational simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics software. Two sets of values thus obtained for every parameter are found to approximate closely and so vindicate our method of study in COMSOL Multiphysics software. From the study, it is observed that stress experienced by the pressure sensor is directly proportional to the size of the diaphragm, while it is inversely proportional to the thickness of the diaphragm as well as the piezoelectric material layer. Voltage induced at the pressure sensor is directly proportional to the size of the diaphragm as well as the thickness of the piezoelectric material, while it is inversely proportional to the thickness of the diaphragm. Deflection taken place of the pressure sensor system is nearly independent of the thickness of the piezoelectric material, but it increases gradually with increase in the size of the diaphragm. Thus for an effective design of a pressure sensor system, the diaphragm and the piezoelectric materials should be of low thickness, while the area of the diaphragm should be sufficiently high.

Alternative automotive fuels are currently a significant problem worldwide due to efforts to reduce the global warming provided by the combustion of petroleum or petrol diesel. Biodiesel is non-toxic, biodegradable, produced from renewable sources and contributes to the minimal amount of net greenhouse gases such as CO2, SO2 and NO emissions to the atmosphere. Petroleum reserves are rapidly disappearing from the earth's surface. Biodiesel provides such an alternative. It has become interesting to know the CI engine performance dedicated to biodiesel fuel along with its compatibility as an alternative fuel to existing compression ignition engines. Chapter One introduced the concept with illustrations about biodiesel and its importance and its important properties. Chapter Two provides a brief literature survey with the coconut biodiesel manufacturing process and shows the various reactions that occur during the production of this biodiesel. Chapter three talks about the whole process of the experimental and experimental setup and emphasizes the engine used for the experiments. Chapter four contains the results and discussions of the experiment with graphical plots. Finally, Chapter Five concludes with a future scope. The growing concern over environmental pollution caused by conventional fossil fuels and the perception that they are renewable has led to the search for more environmentally friendly and renewable fuels. Among the various alternatives researched for diesel fuel, biodiesel derived from vegetable oils has been identified as one of the strongest competitors for reducing exhaust emissions worldwide.

These days, Cloud registering is a broad examination region and specialists can consider it to be the eventual fate of processing. A great deal of exertion and time is contributed to make it more effective, versatile, and dependable and issue lenient. Burden adjusting is one such region that actually should be investigated to achieve extreme execution. This work has been essentially centering at studying different systems for planning of cloudlets to the virtual machines so that no machine is underutilized or overpowered. On the off chance that the heap among VMs is adjusted, a decent speedup and consequently further developed throughput will be accomplished. In this examination work, the proposed an Energy Efficient Dynamic VM Consolidation calculation limits number of VM relocations as well as diminishes both energy utilization and SLA infringement. Given methodology for VM arrangement brings about least overhead an ideal opportunity for distribution in distributed computing including effective asset usage and burden adjusting of server farm. In the VM booking model, the virtual machine movement is addressed with meant to give the worker union to underutilize have and oversee or balance the heap for over stacked hosts. The outcome shows better execution for each measurement and proficient asset use of server farms. It is a basic undertaking to make compromise between energy utilization and SLA infringement. To the extent number of VM relocation and SLA infringement is concerned we have accomplished a ton of progress. Proposed strategy merges VM onto the base number of worker for lessening energy utilization. Yet if there should arise an occurrence of energy utilization more work is required for additional improvement.

This project is developed to make the life of blind people easy. This is a camera based system to scan the barcode behind the image and read the description of the product with the help of Id stored in the barcode. This is very beneficial in case of finding out the description of packaged goods to the blind people and thus helping them in deciding to purchase a product or not especially which are packaged. This is because it becomes very difficult for the blind people to distinguish between the packaged goods. In order to use this system, all the user needs to do is capture the image on the product in the mobile phone which then resolves the barcode which means it scans the image to find out the Id stored. Thus this application really benefits blind and visually impaired people and thus making their work of identifying products easy. This is very easy to use and affordable as it requires a scanner to scan the barcode and a camera phone to take the picture of the image containing the barcode. This is now easy to implement as most of the mobile phones today have the required resolution in order to scan the barcode to identify the Id stored in it and read out the product description. This project can be implemented in any shopping mall, supermarket, Book stores, Medical stores etc.

Soil Stabilization is that the development that deals with modifying the properties of soil (Index & Engineering) to boost its performance so that stabilization can be effectively getting used. For a range of engineering works either in its natural kind or during a processed kind. Eventually all structures rest on soil foundation wherever the most objective is to extend the strength or stability of soil and to cut back the development value. Shredded rubber tyre having sizes ranges from 5mm to 10mm (Width), 10mm to 15mm (Length) and a couple of to 3mm in thickness and therefore the steel belting was removed are used extensively. Added amount of rubber tyre varied in proportions of 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% as well as 2% and 4% of cement. Use of shredded rubber tyres in geotechnical engineering for enhancing the soil properties has received great attention within its recent times. It presents the investigation of behaviour of pavement subgrade soil stabilized with shredded rubber tyre chips with addition of cement. The strength is also evaluated based on unconfined compressive strength and the penetration resistance in terms of California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test for the samples compacted at maximum proctor density for optimum dosages of cement and shredded rubber tyre chips pieces in the soil. The results showed that the soil can be effectively stabilized to be used as a highway material to a great extent by making use of waste shredded rubber tyre pieces that would otherwise degrade the environment. This ground modification method is an eco-friendly and cheaper method in comparison to other stabilization techniques, using which sustainability with economy are often achieved.
