 Abstract

Agricultural works are associated with a variety of unique occupational health hazards in the form of physical factors like extreme weather conditions, chemical and toxicological hazards including different forms of biological and mechanical improvements. Considering the above significance the present study was conceptualized to assess the effect of moderization on health status of the agricultural labours in West Bengal. A total number of 200 male agricultural labours data has been collected from Birbhum district of West Bengal, India and then stratified into two different groups i.e. 35 - 45 years and 46 - 55 years. The Body Mass Index (BMI) and Waist-Hip Ratio (WHR) data were compared with the World Health Organization's standard norms. The Overweight characteristics has been established in both the age group and they falls in the category of increased risk of co morbidities in respect of average BMI and moderate level of health risk in respect of average WHR. The Overweight and the moderate level of health risk characteristics of the agricultural labours could be prevalent due to the modernization in the agricultural field where the physical labour has been decreased and may be first time noticed in this study.

 Abstract

Abstract: Whey, a protein complex derived from milk, is being touted as a functional food with a number of health benefits compared to other constituents. The terminology WPC is being used for the dried whey having more than 25 per cent protein and as such there is a wide variation in composition of resultant WPC, ranging from 25 to 90 per cent protein. The special nutritional significance of millets and WPC, their beneficial effects have made the present research to develop value-added millet-based food products with improved functional & Rheological attributes. The corn-wheat was replaced with foxtail millet at various proportions of 25, 50, 75 and 100 per cent levels and subjected to extrusion process followed by oil frying. From the various physico-chemical, functional, rheology tests and sensory perceptions, it was found that replacement of 50 per cent foxtail millet was best suited for formulating foxtail millet based RTE food. Further RTE food was enriched with WPC at 4, 6, 8 and 100 per cent levels among various levels of addition of 6 per cent WPC was found to be acceptable.

 Abstract

Issues of gender inequalities and denial of women rights to land have attracted widespread attention both at national, regional and international levels. This will continue to remain in the public domain for as long as the land tenure system and reform programs of the third world nations support the existing system of land holding. The paper assessed the system of land ownership and the place of women in a traditional Idoma setting in order to examine the recent shift in land holding, the level of gender disparity as well as suggesting ways for achieving gender parity in land holding within the community. To achieve the aim set for the study, proper identification of land acquisition or ownership system in the communities was done, policy gaps identified and its impact examined. A survey of 145 respondents comprising of village heads/chiefs, family heads and women was embarked on. Findings of the research work revealed significant level of land ownership disparity between men and women in the area. Out of the total sampled population, 131 land holders were men, representing 90% of the sampled population while the remaining 10% are women. High rate of rural women illiteracy, finance, archaic custom/ inheritance system among other factors were identified to be the causative factors for gender disparity in land holding. The paper recommended gender parity through the promotion of gender inclusiveness and full participation in family and community decision making. This can be achieved through the overhauling of the existing custom, land policies and the reformation of land management system and development programs in the country.

 Abstract

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Jojana (DDU-GKY) is the skill training and placement scheme launched by the Government of India which focuses on the development of the rural poor youth through need based training and sustainable employment. The special feature of this scheme is that it mandate for the placement of at least 75% of the trainees of different trades. On this backdrop, this study has undertaken on the basis of secondary data of last five years to examine the performance of DDU-GKY in the state of Odisha in term of training and placement of rural youth. The performance of the scheme implemented through Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) is found satisfactory as 75%of trainees have provided employment in 3 years out of 5 years under study. However, the identification of skill of youth in particular trade, lack of formal education, dropout from school and marketable skill are the major challenges for the effectiveness of this programme.

 Abstract

What is contempt? In its simplest form, contempt is the state of being despised or dishonoured; disgrace. Any act which leads to disrespect or disregard the authority and administration of law is considered to be contempt of court. The law of contempt has gradually evolved over recent years. Judges have altered and modified the contempt jurisdiction in order to deal with the issues faced by them. Most studies of the law of contempt rely upon the assumption that we must adapt to the contempt jurisdiction as we find it and that a historical analysis of how the contempt jurisdiction was evolved is unnecessary. Nevertheless, there is a lot to learn from the historical development of the law of contempt. In this research paper, I have made an attempt to scrutinize and analyze the origin of the concept of contempt of court. This paper will cover all the aspects linked to this concept including the constitutional provisions and judicial interpretations. Further, this paper also throws light upon various landmark judgments dealing with the issue of contempt of court. With utmost respect of the judiciary, this research paper will be dealing with the comprehensive analysis of the concept of contempt of court. The main concern behind this concept is to protect the administration of justice in criminal as well as civil cases.

 Abstract

As we are discussing about Indian Education System, always in economics we discuss about what is the amount of spending on education in (BRICKS) different countries. As far as big countries are concerned, in 2016 China was spending 4.3% of its GDP Russia 3.6% , Brazil 5.7%, South Korea 6.9% and India 2.9% of the GDP, & it has not increased now, but its decreased and at the same time U.S was 6% of its GDP for Education. Thats why were to take into account this particular scenario. Since 5-6 months the whole world fighting with COVID-19 pandemic & most of the countries are affected 90% or more than 92% of schools, colleges & universities are closed. About 1.38 billion students have the impact on them, & the pandemic has been significantly disrupting the higher education sector as well which is a critical determinant of countries economic future, whatever the development is there its because of education, that hypothesis we take into consideration. Due to the uncertainties exists always when there are uncertainties it is very difficult to take the decision. The Use of multimedia for innovative education There is great power in technology one has to use it more judiciously in the field of education, this is the area where we are touching, now the media of teaching learning process will change, but technology will help us for changing the scenario. And even still the challenges are there , In this Research Paper/Article we are going to discuss about the Positive and the Negative Aspects of COVID-19 on Indian Education System and the Various Strategies that are been devised to be face the existing challenges

 Abstract

As rightly said by many scholars we humans generally take for granted whatever is given to us for free, as the earth gives away everything to us for free we had long back started to take our mother nature for granted which has led to climatic changes, deforestation, pollution and many such issues which will soon lead to the disastrous end of every living being on this planet. Ever since the growth of industries there has been a tremendous growth in new buildings. As in the statistics projected by 2060 most of the major cities will be a victim to consumption of polluted air and polluted water, a building being a major consumer of resources and energy, and in turn a major producer of pollutants it is necessary to put guidelines (rating systems) in its construction techniques, resource utility and waste management throughout its life-cycle for a safer future.

 Abstract

An investigation was carried out to study the relative performance of two indoor foliage plants, Aglaonema cv. Silver Queen and Dieffenbachia cv. Tropic Snow grown in various media compositions in form of a pot culture trial in the Department of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Siksha O Anusandhan (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar in an agro shade net house with 70 per cent shade during the period between October 2018 to April 2019. The trial was conducted in form of a Factorial Experiment following Completely Randomized Design with three replications and consisted of two factors viz., potting media and in door foliage plants as treatments. In the present investigation five media compositions viz., M1(2 parts of garden soil+ 1 part of FYM), M2 (2 parts of garden soil + 1 part of coarse sand +1 part of FYM), M3 (2 parts of garden soil +1 part of coco peat ), M4 (2 parts of garden soil +1 part of coarse sand +1 part of coco peat) and M5 consisting of 2 parts of FYM + 1 part of coco peat were used in which the ingredients were mixed on volume basis. The performances of the two indoor foliage plant species viz., (S1) Aglaonema and (S2) Dieffenbachia were evaluated in the above mentioned potting media for various growth and quality parameters. The results of the study revealed that among various combinations of M x S1, performance of Aglaonema grown in media M5 composed of 2 parts of FYM + 1 part of coco peat was most satisfactory with respect to almost all parameters. Growth parameter like leaf area and scoring for quality parameters like colour grade and visual plant grade were significantly higher under this treatment combination. Besides, parameter like plant spread also recorded highest value which was at par with either M2S1 or M4S1 combinations. Performance of Aglaonema (S1) under M4 ie.2 parts of garden soil +1 part of coarse sand + 1 part of coco peat (M4S1) was next to M5S1 which recorded higher values for leaf area, plant spread and stem diameter while parameters like colour grade and visual plant grade was improved under M2S1 ( ie. Aglaonema grown in 2parts of garden soil +1 part of coarse sand + 1 part of FYM ) combination next to M5S1. Performance of M3S1 combination ie. Aglaonema grown in 2 parts of garden soil + 1 part of coco peat was found unsatisfactory for various parameters which recorded the lowest scoring for visual plant grade and significantly lower score for colour grade. Besides, the performance of M1S1 combination ie. Aglaonema grown in 2 parts of garden soil +1 part of FYM wav more less similar with respect to different parameters under study. Various combinations of MxS2 ie. Dieffenbachia grown in different media compositions followed more or less similar trend as observed in MxS1 combination. Plants of Dieffenbachia grown in media M5 (2 parts of FYM + 1 part of coco peat) recorded significantly higher values for plant spread, visual scoring for colour grade and plant grade in addition to maximum basal diameter although this parameter was not significantly influenced . Performance of M4S2 combination ie. Dieffenbachia grown in 2 parts of garden soil + 1 part of coarse sand + 1 part of coco peat was also better which recorded highest individual leaf area followed by and at par with M5S2. Besides, plant spread, basal stem diameter and scoring for visual plant grade were also improved next to M5S2 combination. On the other hand scoring for colour grade was improved under M2S2 next to M5S2 combination. Significantly lower plant spread and scoring for colour grade were observed under M3S2 combination. Besides, lowest values were also recorded for basal stem diameter and visual grade of plants under this treatment combination. Performance of plants with respect to all the parameters under M1S2 combinations was found to be unsatisfactory.

 Abstract

This study has been undertaken to investigate the determinants of stock returns in Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) using two assets pricing models the classical Capital Asset Pricing Model and Arbitrage Pricing Theory model. To test the CAPM market return is used and macroeconomic variables are used to test the APT. The macroeconomic variables include inflation, oil prices, interest rate and exchange rate. For the very purpose monthly time series data has been arranged from Jan 2010 to Dec 2014. The analytical framework contains. This study was planned to characterize main anti-oxidant component Nasunin which is chemically an anthocyanin, from methanolic and aqueous extract of Solanum melongena L. purple coloured fruit peels. Peels of Solanum melongena L. purple coloured fruit peel were subjected to repeated maceration in acetic acid (10 %) for 24 hours and dried. Filtrate was extracted with 200 ml methanol, filtered and dried. Trifluoroacetic acid (1%) was added to this dried extract and analyzed by HPLC analysis. Peak was obtained at 25.658 and 25.649 minute that corresponds to methanolic and aqueous extract respectively. The peak strength and retention time (Rt) is inline and matches with the standard peak that confirms the presence of Nasunin; an anthocyanin component. From the results it was concluded that that peels of Solanum melongena L. contain high amount of anthocyanin component Nasunin which is considered as a strong anti-oxidant. Due to its high quantity, eggplant shows strong anti-oxidant activity which has been proven in-vitro. Nasunin is highly soluble in both media and is stable too. So this merits further investigation for anti-oxidant/ hepatoprotective activity in-vivo.

 Abstract

Lateral luxation is the displacement of the tooth in a direction other than axial, which is accompanied by comminution or fracture of the alveolar socket. Lateral luxation is one of the most prevalent dental injuries among the general population, resulting in up to 27% of all dental wounds. The aim of this report was to present a case of a dental lateral luxation caused by tipping forces from finger. The tooth was extruded from its bony lock, replaced into its original anatomic position, and secured with fiber reinforced composite. The permanent endodontic treatment was performed 4 weeks after repositioning. At the end of the 8-months follow-up, the tooth was asymptomatic and pathological alterations absent.

 Abstract

Introduction: Anaemia is one of the common nutritional deficiency disorders globally that is affecting both developed and developing nations. This has larger implications not only on the health but also reflects the social-economic development of the country. Iron deficiency anaemia can appear in any stage of life but is more common in young children or pregnant females. Adolescent especially girls are vulnerable to iron deficiency anaemia. Girls from age group 12 to 17 are prone to be affected and are considered as a high-risk group. Objective: To develop a literature review on iron deficiency anaemia in young girls. This has been a major public health issue in many countries. This has been implicated as the risk factor for the developmental and growth in a particular age group. The review includes the pathophysiology, cause, clinical characteristics, differential diagnosis, prevention and treatment. Methodology: The peer-reviewed article has been taken onto the account for the formation of a literature review. Most portals on the cyberspace are searched for the review, these may include PubMed, Google Scholar and NCBI. Scientific reaches that have been published in English has been considered. With initial 55 paper, 25 were considered after analysis as per the inclusion and exclusion criterion. Result and Discussion: The result of the studies conducted revealed that adolescent girls are prone to develop iron deficiency anaemia more than 20 per cent and tend to face the ill effect of it in the form of mental or physical development. Conclusion: We have found that preventive measures if taken at the required time may reduce the morbidity burden of anaemia in these risk groups. Healthcare professionals should especially focus on the requirement of the early diagnosis and intervention with proper prophylaxis.

 Abstract

Neurological involvement is frequent in leukemia but is rarely the inaugural event. We report the case of a 15-year-old boy whose acute lymphoblastic leukemia was revealed by fatal cerebral hemorrhage associated with sepsis secondary to lung infection. Intracerebral hemorrhage remains a cause of death in hematologic malignancies. The patient presented with thrombocytopenia (24,000/mm3), leucostasis and hypofibrinogemia (1.10 g/L). Despite maximal medical and surgical treatment (platelets and fresh-frozen plasma transfusions, red blood cells transfusion, and craniotomy discharge), the patient died. The risk of death is high, and surgical treatment has not proven superior to medical therapy in terms of mortality rates and 6-month survival. Further studies are needed to define consensus guidelines for coagulation disorders induced by ALL and also to define the specific management in cases of ICH in childhood hematological malignancies.

 Abstract

Energy is essential and vital for development and global economic growth. The use of fossil fuels for energy needs is highly discouraged due to its depleting nature and also for its contribution for greenhouse gases emission to the environment. So there is a need to ?nd out an alternative fuel to ful?ll the energy demand of the world. Biodiesel is one of the best available sources to ful?ll the energy demand of the world. Renewable and carbon neutral biodiesel are necessary for environmental and economic sustainability. Biodiesel for agro products is one such fuel source, which is viable and expanding as an alternate source for fossil fuels.A vast majority of the scientists reported that short-term engine tests using vegetable oils as fuels were very promising but the long-term test results showed higher carbon built up and lubricating oil contamination is resulting in engine failure. They concluded that vegetable oils, either chemically altered or blended with diesel to prevent the engine failures. In 2001, a 6-megawatt backup power system that is entirely fuelled by biodiesel installed at the UC Riverside.
