 Abstract

The study is aimed at finding the mental health and emotional maturity of graduate students in the context of certain demographic variables. A random sampling technique was used to select the sample. The researcher selected 300 graduate students from 10-degree colleges (5 from Govt. & 5 from Private) in two districts Hyderabad and Rangareddy of Telangana. The Mental Health Inventory of Jagadish and Srivastava, A. K. (1983) and the Emotional Maturity Scale of Roma Pal (1984) were employed to collect data in this research. Test-retest reliability was found to be 0.77 for mental health inventory. The reliability coefficient of the split-half method and test-retest were 0.74 and 0.77for the emotional maturity scale. The results of this investigation showed that significant differences occurred among graduate students when compared on the variables of type of management and academic stream, whereas insignificant differences occurred among graduate students when compared on the variables of gender, locality, and social status of mental health. Significant differences occurred among graduate students when compared on the variable of the type of management, whereas insignificant differences occurred among graduate students when compared on the variables of gender, locality, academic stream, and social status of emotional maturity. There is a significant and positive relationship between mental health and the emotional maturity of graduate students.

 Abstract

Milk is source of minerals. Milk is an excellent source of calcium and phosphorus. Cow milk content three times calcium than that of wheat and four times than the human milk. So for healthy nation, we need quality of food & milk. But some antisocial elements have been adding some adulterants like water, urea, lactose powder etc. in milk sample. The linear and mass attenuation coefficient plays an important role in agricultural dairy, food technology, science & technology, medicines and forensics etc. In the present work, we measured the linear and mass attenuation coefficient of adulterate milk sample with lactose powder by using gamma source CO60 at energies 1.17 MeV and 1.33MeV. The experimental values are in good arrangement and then validate absorption the law. The results are represented in graphical forms. The experimental values are in good an agreement which validates the gamma absorption law.

 Abstract

Health is a vital moderating factor in a childs ability to learn. The idea that healthy children learn better is empirically supported and well accepted (Basch, 2010). Many factors influence the academic performance of a child. Some of them are socio-economic status (Sirin, 2005), parental involvement (Fan and Chen, 2001) and a host of other demographic factors. Multiple studies have confirmed that health benefits are associated with physical activity, including cardiovascular and muscular fitness, bone health, psychosocial outcomes and cognitive and brain health (Strong et al., 2005). Brain health is important across the life span, as brain is responsible for both mental processes and physical actions of human body. In adults, brain health, representing absence of disease and optimal structure and function, is measured in terms of quality of life and effective functioning of activities in daily living. In children, brain health is measured in terms of successful development of attention, on-task behaviour, memory and academic performance in an educational setting. Physical activity and fitness plays a vital role in developing the brain during childhood. Children respond faster and with greater accuracy to a variety of cognitive tasks after participating in a session of physical activity. Participating in moderate physical activity is found to increase neural and behavioural concomitants associated with the allocation of attention to a specific cognitive task. In some experimental study, children who participated in 30 minutes of aerobic physical activity outperformed those children who watched television for the same amount of time. Physical activity which is generally used as a break from academic learning time, post engagement effects of it includes better attention, increased on-task behaviours and improved academic performance. Teachers can offer physical activity breaks as part of a supplemental curriculum or simply as a way to reset student attention during a lesson. After-school physical activity programs have demonstrated the ability to improve cardiovascular endurance and this increase in aerobic fitness has been shown to mediate improvements in academic performance as well as the allocation of neural resources underlying performance on a working memory task.

 Abstract

All these issues have been well addressed in China`s 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015). To address environmental and social imbalances the plan highlights the development of services and measures. Targets have been set to reduce pollution, to increase energy efficiency, to improve access to education and healthcare, and to expand social protection. Besides, China now focuses on Human Development as its annual growth target of 7 percent indicates the intention to focus on quality of life, rather than the rate of growth.

 Abstract

Women in India have contributed significantly since the beginning of civilization. The moral values and dedication towards humanity from ancient times till the present era can be seen in examples of Sita, Anusuiya, Ahilya, Laxmibai, Mirabai, Razia Sultan, Sarojini Naidu, Indira Gandhi, Kalpana Chawla, Kiran Bedi, Medha Patkar, and others. In Indian culture women have been represented as and raised to the level of goddesses, but unfortunately the patriarchal family system and other socio-historical factors resulted in the subordination of women. The status of women in India has been subject to many great changes over the past few millennia. Though much progress has been made towards improving women`s place in the society from equal status with men in ancient times, through the low points of the medieval period to the promotion of equal rights by many reformers, the history of women in India has been eventful. In Modern India, women have adorned high offices including that of the President, Prime Minister, speaker of the Lok Sabha and others.

 Abstract

The article will enumerate the causes behind the religious extremism in Sri Lanka. It will underline the teachings of the Theravada tradition of Buddhism about war and conflict. Sri Lanka is a land of Buddhistsa religion that preaches peace and harmony. But a section of monks using the erroneous interpretation of texts is justifying violence on minorities. This has inculcated a sense of distrust among the various ethnic and religious groups in the society and transforming Sri Lanka into a majoritarian state. Sri Lanka has experienced similar targeting of minorities during colonial period as well when Buddhist revival movement was taking place. The earlier incidents of conflict and violence against the Muslims help to understand the present incidents which are taking place against them. Thus, the last section will deal with the various causes which have led to the rise to religious extremism in the post-civil war Sri Lanka. The spread of Islamophobia has not only contributed but vindicated the acts of violence on Muslims. The attack on Muslims, justified in the name of extremism in Islam and threat it poses to Buddhism globally, will be analyzed.

 Abstract

Satyagraha has often been translated as "holding fast to truth". Gandhi began practising some form of Satyagraha in South Africa. Later he began to propound its conceptual and theoretical foundations. To be a Satyagrahi one has to practice the principles or nonviolence (ahinsa). Gandhi never violated the basic principle in his whole life. When the people in non-cooperation movement turned violent, he withdrew the political movement. For practicing it, one has to observe; restrain in one's actions. Practising non-violence does not show any weakness but only strength. All these concepts analysed above are a part of the Indian traditions but Gandhi brought them to a higher level by providing universal meanings. Satyagrah is based on the principle of 'purity of ends and means.' Gandhiji said Satyagraha is nothing but Tapasya for truth and justice. It is a weapon based on truth non-violence and self suffering to fight against injustice. It is the weapon of the non-violent struggle.

 Abstract

Digital marketing is a paid form of promotion of products and services through an identified sponsor using a digital medium. Digital marketing is that element of promotion mix, which is often considered prominent in the overall marketing matrix. Its high visibility and pervasiveness has made it an important commercial medium in Indian society. It is a means of influencing the consumer to buy products or services through visual or audio persuasion. A product or service is primarily advertised to create awareness of its utility in the minds of potential buyers. As a result of globalization and the consequent changes in consumer buying patterns, the advertising industry has undergone significant transformation in past few years. The current article highlights the scenario of digital marketing challenges and ways to overcome it.
