Abstract Bangalore, also known as Bengaluru, is facing a severe water crisis exacerbated by rapid urbanization, population growth, and climate change. The city's water demand far exceeds its supply, leading to critical shortages and over-extraction of groundwater. This abstract delves into the causes of Bangalore's water crisis, including inefficient water management, pollution of water bodies, and encroachment of lakes. It also explores potential solutions such as rainwater harvesting, wastewater recycling, lake rejuvenation, and policy reforms aimed at sustainable water usage. Addressing these issues requires a multifaceted approach involving government intervention, community participation, and technological innovation to ensure a sustainable water future for Bangalore. Detailed Analysis Causes of the Water Crisis 1. Rapid Urbanization and Population Growth: o Bangalore's population has surged over the past few decades, leading to increased water demand. 2 o Urban sprawl has resulted in the overuse of available water resources and inadequate infrastructure development to meet the growing needs. 2. Over-extraction of Groundwater: o With surface water sources being insufficient, reliance on groundwater has increased, leading to significant depletion. o Unregulated bore well drilling has exacerbated the situation, causing a drop in the water table. 3. Inefficient Water Management: o The existing water distribution system is plagued by leaks and outdated infrastructure, resulting in substantial water loss. o There is a lack of comprehensive planning and coordination among various water management authorities. 4. Pollution of Water Bodies: o Industrial discharge and untreated sewage have polluted many of Bangalore's lakes and rivers, rendering them unusable for drinking purposes. o Encroachment and dumping of waste in water bodies have further deteriorated the quality of available water. 5. Climate Change: o Irregular rainfall patterns and prolonged dry spells have affected the recharge of water sources. o Increased temperatures have led to higher evaporation rates, reducing the availability of surface water. o 3 6. Encroachment of Lakes: o Bangalore's lakes, which historically served as a major source of water, have been encroached upon for real estate development. o This has resulted in the loss of natural reservoirs and reduced groundwater recharge. Solutions to the Water Crisis 1. Rainwater Harvesting: o Promoting and implementing rainwater harvesting in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings can significantly augment the water supply. o Government policies should mandate rainwater harvesting systems in new constructions and encourage retrofitting in existing structures. 2. Wastewater Recycling and Reuse: o Treating and recycling wastewater for non-potable uses such as irrigation, industrial processes, and toilet flushing can alleviate the pressure on freshwater sources. o Establishing decentralized wastewater treatment plants in residential and industrial zones can facilitate efficient recycling. 3. Lake Rejuvenation: o Restoration and protection of existing lakes can enhance groundwater recharge and provide a sustainable water source. 4 o Community involvement and public-private partnerships can be instrumental in the maintenance and conservation of these water bodies. 4. Policy Reforms and Regulations: o Implementing stricter regulations on groundwater extraction and penalizing illegal borewell drilling can prevent over-extraction. o Developing a comprehensive water management policy that integrates various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and the public, is crucial for sustainable water governance. 5. Public Awareness and Community Participation: o Educating citizens about the importance of water conservation and efficient usage can foster responsible water consumption habits. o Community-driven initiatives, such as local water management committees, can play a pivotal role in monitoring and managing water resources. 6. Technological Innovations: o Utilizing advanced technologies like remote sensing and GIS for monitoring water resources and predicting water shortages can enhance planning and management. o Implementing smart water meters and leak detection systems can reduce water wastage and improve distribution efficiency. Addressing Bangalore's water crisis requires a holistic and integrated approach that combines policy measures, technological advancements, and active community engagement. Ensuring a sustainable water future for the city is not 5 only crucial for its residents but also for its economic and environmental well- being.

Abstract: That long Silence emphasises that the women's suffering is due to the long silence that they maintain. The title That Long Silence is very suggestive as throughout the novel we see Shashi Deshpande expressing her shock at tendency of women to silent suffering and death. No one pays attention to their silent sacrifice. To ensure that women find their place in a world that is dominated by men, the novelist urges them to end their prolonged quiet. The protagonist's resolve to speak up and stop her prolonged silence at the end of the novel is a protest against the limitation forced on lives of the women.

Geothermal energy, derived from the Earth's internal heat, represents one of the most promising and sustainable energy sources available today. Unlike intermittent renewable resources like solar and wind, geothermal energy offers a constant and reliable supply of power, making it a valuable component of the global energy mix. This research paper delves into the natural processes that generate geothermal energy, including the decay of radioactive isotopes and the residual heat from the Earth's formation. It also explores the geological formations that store this heat and the methods used to extract it, such as hydrothermal systems, enhanced geothermal systems (EGS), and binary cycle power plants. The paper highlights the significant technological advancements that have enabled the efficient capture and conversion of geothermal energy into electricity. These include innovations in drilling techniques, reservoir management, and power plant design. Moreover, the environmental benefits of geothermal energy, such as its low carbon footprint and minimal land use, are discussed in contrast to the potential environmental challenges, such as induced seismicity and water usage. Economic aspects are also examined, particularly the cost-effectiveness of geothermal power in regions with high geothermal potential and the role it can play in reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Finally, the paper considers the future prospects of geothermal energy, including its potential to expand into new geographic areas, its integration with other renewable energy sources, and the ongoing research aimed at overcoming the current technological and environmental challenges. This comprehensive analysis underscores geothermal energy's vital role in achieving a sustainable and resilient global energy future.

This research paper has a special focus upon the very premises for which Non-Alignment Movement was given birth. This paper tries to answer what Non-Aligned Movement is doing presently? Is Non-Aligned Movement in 21st Century: Relevant or Redundant. Cold war got ended up in 1990's. So, some scholars are of the opinion that Non-Aligned Movement remains no more relevant now and it has served its purpose. But on the other hand so many scholars are of the view that, "Non-Aligned Movement's mission remains more relevant than ever; in the light of growing gulf between the rich and poor countries" The fact is that the collapse of the bi-polar system and emergence of unipolarity in political, economic and military terms is leading to further inequality and injustice and, hence, the role of Non-Aligned Movement becomes much more important as a counterforce to unilateral military and economic coercion.

Shakespeare's Hamlet adversely starts with Horatio and Marcellus examining the presence of an unpleasant undefined vision that unusually is by all accounts the Ruler of Denmark. As the play fans out, we observe that it is, in actuality, the apparition of Hamlet Sr., the Leader of Denmark. Quickly, the play starts with a vibe of feeling risk for those included who have a brief relationship with his youth Hamlet, the sovereign of Denmark, beside Horatio, Marcellus, and Fortinbras, Hamlet's dearest companions.

The purpose of this article is to review the public sector's performance in India, with a focus on the market-oriented reforms that have been implemented during the last few decades. The post-2000s saw a substantial increase in the number of central public sector enterprises (CPSEs), and more specifically, the number of profit-making CPSEs. Due to changes in institutional structures pertaining to increased openness, more autonomy, and other factors, the public sector's performance by conventional measures first improved. This was demonstrated by an increase in net profit and profitability throughout the same period. However, the report contends that since 2012, performance on the same count has declined, mostly as a result of a drop in public investment in technology and plant and machinery as well as a relative undervaluing of production from the public sector. The study also emphasizes how deeply ingrained the idea of the public sector is in the conflict between efficiency and equity. These businesses are expected to achieve specific goals on both the input and output sides, which are outside the scope of the one-dimensional efficiency indicators that are typically used to assess the performance of profit-maximizing companies.

Abstract: Homosexuality is a practice in which an individual develops sexual interest and attraction for the members of his or her own sex. The majority of individuals in a society being heterosexuals, the homosexuals often become object of social contempt. Their same sex orientation causes many problems in their lives. Like heterosexuals they are not allowed to lead a normal life. Mahesh Dattani is one of those Indian dramatists who try to create awareness in society through their writings. In his plays Bravely Fought the Queen, Do the Needful and On A Muggy Night in Mumabi Dattani raises his voice in defense of this socially neglected community of homosexuals. Along with this issue, the social issues like communalism, gender discrimination, child sexual abuse, marginalization of eunuchs and the suffering of the cancer patients and AIDS victims are dealt freely in the dramatic world of Dattani.
