 Abstract

ABSTRACT The continuous growth of the human population in India and urban people is increasing a lot of food security. Urban agriculture was one of the important cultivates to produce fresh food on our roof. It plays a vital role in production of vegetables, flower ornamental and fruits. The rooftop garden (RTG) is a landless cultivation done on roof ,terrace, balcony and hanging method. No exclusive need to construct a garden at the ground level. Roof gardens can be splendid substitutes for natural looking, landscaped areas at the ground level. With some imagination and fantasy, a flat roof can easily be turned into a green roof garden. Numerous rooftops of a city can be transformed from a barren landscape into a living network of gardens. A green roof is a contained ecological oasis for nature on top of human-made structures and it constitutes an environment that is very different from a garden rooted in natural soil at ground level. Rooftop gardening is a special type of urban agriculture or urban horticulture. Standing on one of the higher floors of a building, one sees immediately how extremely large the total surface of the roofs in the city is. These roof spaces are generally unused. They often have good exposure to sunlight and rain, and they are always available, even in the densest urban areas. Whether in the rain or the sun, a roof garden always has a lot of character, changing with the season and the time of day, so it will be visited regularly. One of the most important reasons to create roof gardens is the esthetic view of a green area in the city, which is contributing to the quality of life of the citizens. Green roofs absorb stormwater, reducing runoff by at least 50 % and filter polluted runoff water before it enters in drains, rivers and lakes. Pollution is sucked out of the air by plants in the garden, thus reducing air pollution and dust. Roof gardens are one of the most innovative and cost-effective ways cities can use to improve the degrading urban environment. Roof gardens have been proven to reduce the effects of the urban heat, the result of sunlight reflected off concrete and other reflective materials, which can make summer air in dense cities up to 10 degrees hotter than in rural areas. More energy has to be used to cool buildings and more air pollution is created in the form of smog. Rooftop gardens keep buildings cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Air conditioning costs are cut down and roof gardens can cool the whole city by several degrees in summer.

 Abstract

Anaemia is a global public health problem affecting both developing and developed countries with major consequences on human health as well as social and economic development. Despite anaemia having been identified as a global public health problem for several years, no rapid progress has been observed, and the prevalence of the disease is still high globally. This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching program on prevention of anaemia among antenatal women; to find out the association between pre test knowledge score of antenatal women on prevention of anaemia with their selected demographic variables like Age, Educational status, Occupation, Type of family, Monthly income. Methodology: Pre experimental one group pre test post test design was adopted for fifty antenatal mothers who were selected by convenience sampling technique at Maternity Hospital SKIMS, Soura Srinagar Kashmir to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on prevention of anaemia. Structured interview schedule was used for data collection. Results: The present study revealed that antenatal women had inadequate knowledge regarding prevention of anaemia and after structured teaching programme, their knowledge improved. The study also revealed that there was significant association between pre test knowledge of antenatal women on prevention of anaemia and their selected demographic variables i.e., Age, Educational status, Type of Family and Monthly income whereas no significant association was found between pre test knowledge of antenatal women on prevention of anaemia and their occupation. Conclusion: The present study revealed that antenatal women had inadequate knowledge regarding prevention of anaemia and after implementing structured teaching programme, their knowledge improved significantly. So, awareness should be created through appropriate nutritional counselling during antenatal visits and through media.

 Abstract

Personality Disorder have significant but often unrealized, public health importance. The percent review summarizes the published work on personality disorders in the Indian population or by researchers residing in the country. Researchers who have work on assessment methodology in India have demonstrated that clinical diagnosis has a low reliability when concerned with semi-structured interview developed by the World Health Organization (WHO). Five aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of multiple personality disorder (MPD) were examined. The following five conclusions were made: the contemporary diagnostic criteria are vague and over inclusive; the recent alleged increase in prevalence of the disorder is almost certainly art factual; legal proceedings involving MPD patients raise disturbing questions about personal responsibility; there is little literature support for the theory that MPD results from childhood trauma; and many of the techniques used to diagnose and treat the condition reinforce its symptoms. A careful revision of diagnostic criteria for the disorder is recommended.

 Abstract

Woman health care during pregnancy period is utmost important job and with-it safe delivery of child by identifying the true labor is another skill and challenging task for experts. Early assessment of first stage of true labor is significant task so that expert can take care and can provide the necessary aid to the laboring mother to avoid the risk of mothers and child life. Maternal mortality is unacceptably high in under developed countries like India, which contributes one-fifth of total maternal deaths globally. The motivational factors and the necessity to develop a system for differentiating True and False Labor based on Uterine Contraction are discussed in this paper. The objective of the research is to develop the diagnostic system for the analysis of uterine contraction for differentiation of true and false labor with advantage of early detection of true labor. The system is experimented under the supervision of expert clinician and the results of these experiments are discussed. The results of the experiments are promising and suggest that the presented system is accurate, robust, simple to implement and is very useful for diagnosis of true and false labor.

 Abstract

In the present study it has been found that algae have immense capacity to absorb metals, and there is considerable potential for using them to treat wastewater.Concentration of metal and biomass of algae, pH, temperature, biochemical activities of the organism affect the rate of metal absorption. Algae can effectively remove metals from water bodies. In the case of test spices, Diatoms can be used for removal of Arsenic from aquatic biota. The present investigation was under taken to study the removal of Arsenic from the metal treated medium in vitro. Arsenic is a carcinogenic and highly toxic heavy metal existed in two valiancy state such as As (V) and As (III). The toxicity of metal can be reduced in alkaline condition. So the sea water containing medium were used for the present study. The parameters of productivity, photosynthesis rate, respiration, pigmentation, end product of photosynthesis bioactive phenol and proline were studied in different concentration of As (III) and As (V). The maximum removal of the metal from the aquous medium was observed at the exponential growth phase and also increase in the amount of proline and phenol in the test species under stress condition. So algae are used for biosorption of Arsenic from the aquatic biota.

Majuli the biggest freshwater riverain island in the world and a small district of Assam. It is rich in sattriya culture and natural beauty. The aim of this paper to highlight the elements of biodiversity and also mentioned the flora and funna and its degradation and conservation. The people of Majuli and departments are struggling the riverbank erosion which badly affected the existence the island and its ecosystem. In winter session many migratory birds are coming from different parts of the world. The people also play a very important role to conserve biodiversity of Majuli. It is one of the most effective and sustainable social measures available to the workmen employed in industrial and commercial establishments. It is different from other types of insurance like Health Insurance in that it provides the full amount of medical bill irrespectively of the premium contribution.
