 Abstract

Abstract: The recent literature on maxillary implant overdenture was reviewed in order to clarify its predictability and establish treatment guidelines. Electronic searches were performed using PubMed, Google Scholar and articles about maxillary implant overdenture written after 1990 were reviewed, focusing on the following items: I. implant survival rate, II. maxillary implant overdenture survival rate, III. number of implants, IV. attachment type, V. follow-up period, VI. implant system, and VII. opposing dentition. The review revealed an implant survival rate of 60-100% and an overdenture survival rate of 73-100%. The attachments used included bars, balls, locators, and telescope crowns. The minimum and maximum observation periods were 12 months and 120 months, respectively, and the number of implants used for supporting implant overdenture ranged from 2 to 8. At present, there is no strong evidence to indicate that maxillary implant overdenture is clearly superior for all the items examined. However, the existing data indicate that maxillary implant overdenture has almost the same therapeutic effect as fixed implant superstructures and is a treatment option that can be actively adopted for patients in whom fixed superstructures cannot be applied for various reasons.

 Abstract

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of in-service teachers is vital to quality teacher education. Countries world over are adopting different policies, strategies, methods, techniques and modalities to help their teachers to engage in fruitful training programmes. Keeping in view various shortcomings in the training programmes, continuing lifelong professional learning of teachers is given prime importance. The present study throws light on various suggestive measures to enhance the quality of training programmes. A sample of 4 Principals and 51 Teacher Educators of DIETs from four Districts namely, Shimla, Solan, Bilaspur and Kinnaur of Himachal Pradesh and further, a sample of 60 head teachers and 480 in-service teachers of upper primary schools was also selected from four Districts namely, Shimla, Solan, Bilaspur and Kinnaur of Himachal Pradesh. The survey method of research was used and self-developed questionnaires were used for the present study. It has been found in the present study that principals and teacher educators suggested to utilise the feedback for improving future training programmes, emphasized that training must focus on e-learning, focussed on making provisions for online training sessions for in-service teachers and avoidance of the repeated teachers for the training to enhance quality in the in-service teacher training programmes conducted by DIETs. Furthermore, head teachers and in-service teachers suggested that during in-service teacher training programmes importance should be given to all the subjects of upper primary classes and if possible, training must be conducted during holidays so that their teaching schedule is not disturbed. Moreover, it was also suggested that current problems in teaching-learning process must be highlighted in the training programmes.

 Abstract

INTRODUCTION: First aid training is the value of both preventing, treating sudden illness and accidental injury and in caring for large number of persons caught in a natural disaster. Injuries are a major but neglected public health challenge that requires concerted efforts for effective and sustainable prevention OBJECTIVE: To determine the effect of health teaching on knowledge and practices regarding first aid of selected minor ailments among industrial workers of selected area. METHOD AMD MATERIAL Quantitative research approach was used.The design selected for the study was pre-experimental one group pre-test, post-test design. The sample comprises of 60 industrial workers .Structure Questionnaire was used to assess Knowledge and Checklist to assess Practice, Reliability was assessed by test -retest method. Correlation Coefficients was found to be 0.81 for Knowledge Section and inter,rater method used for practice and Cohens Kappa was found 0.83 for practices section. RESULT: In this study, 30% of the industrial workers had poor knowledge (Score 0-6), 23.3% of them had average knowledge (Score 7-13) and 46.7% of them had good knowledge (Score 14-20) regarding first aid of selected minor ailments. Average knowledge score in pretest was 11.7 which increased to 19.9 in post-test. T-value for this test is 12.21 with 59 degrees of freedom .Average practices score in pretest was 20 which increased to 39.9 in post-test. T-value for this test is 14.45 with 59 degrees of freedom.Since p-values corresponding to occupation and income are small (less than 0.05), the demographic variables occupation and income were found to have significant association with the knowledge among industrial workers regarding first aid of selected minor ailments. Since all the p-values are large (greater than 0.05), none of the demographic variables were found to have significant association with the practices regarding first aid of selected minor ailments among industrial workers CONCLUSION: This study shows that there is effect of health teaching on knowledge and practice regarding minor ailments and there is association between occupation and income with knowledge and practices.

Using a convenience sampling approach, descriptive analysis is done with 60 respondents. The research employed mean analysis, frequency analysis, independent t test, ANOVA, and factor analysis. The findings suggest that because there are so many different venture capitalists, people seeking venture money may need to adapt their strategy. There are still specialized areas for venture capital due to the structure and rules of capital markets.

Ahara (food), Nidra (sleep), and Brahmacarya (good conducts) make up Trayopasthamba. Each Upasthamba has a specific role to play in disease prevention. Aahara has been regarded as the first, demonstrating its paramount importance. The cornerstone of Ayurveda, known as Ahara, is a balanced diet. Acharya Charaka made it very apparent that a daily diet should be of the kind that not only contributes to maintaining current health but also acts as a preventative measure against future illness. As stated in the classics of Ayurveda, this is a crucial component of preventive medicine. The main causes of diseases are an improper diet, poor eating habits, a lack of exercise, and a lack of awareness. Triguna is a symbol for the fundamental mental energies. The Triguna Theory holds that while it is difficult to alter one's physical makeup, one's mental attitude can be shaped by the foods they consume. Based on how food affected the Triguna of the mind, ancient yogic science divided food into three main categories termed the Satvik Ahara, Rajasic Ahara, and Tamasic Ahara. This essay will explore the impact of Trigunas on mental health and examine some of the classics. An attempt has been made to describe them in terms of scientific terminology and their link with Ahara.

Slums are the areas where lack of basic infrastructures, skills, hygiene, health, education and income sources to good living condition. Rapid urbanization and failure of governance are the key reasons of developing slums. Slum dwellers play very important role in the city development directly or indirectly. With this point of view, it is very important to study and identify the solution for slum improvement. This research is an attempt to demonstrate the issues of slums and to extent appropriate options of slum improvement. The aim of this Thesis is to improve infrastructure for the slum dwellers of Gwalior City. For this, firstly study the city slum profile then examine the schemes / projects through which institutions are taking initiatives in infrastructure development for the Gwalior slum dwellers. Next assessing the status of infrastructure in the selected slum areas by primary survey and secondary data collection also study the characteristics of slum dwellers and capture the community perception of selected slums. Finally, national and international case studies were done to understand the effective ways to reduce the issues, which helps in formulating the planning strategies for better living conditions by improving infrastructure in slums.

ABSTRACT: Diabetic kidney disease is an emerging epidemic of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and obesity. It usually occurs slowly and gets worse for many years. The RAAS system is a hormone system that regulates blood pressure, fluid and electrolyte balance, and systemic vascular resistance. A Renoprotective effect is exerted that is independent of the blood pressure reduction caused by RAAS inhibition. Combination of ACE and AT II receptor antagonists to maximize RAAS inhibition and reduce proteinuria and GFR decline in diabetic and nondiabetic renal disease. According to recent trials, there is a benefit in slowing nephropathy progression in the presence of albuminuria. An approach including lifestyle modifications may achieve remission of proteinuria and stabilization of renal function in a substantial proportion of patients with proteinuria renal disease with RAAS inhibition combined with intensified amelioration of dyslipidemia. Independent of blood pressure reduction, a renal protective effect is exerted by RAAS inhibition using proteinuria as an endpoint compared to the effects of ARBS or ACE-1 as monotherapy or with a combination of both ACE-1 and ARB therapy. Most studies suggest that combination therapy provides a greater antiproteinuric effect than monotherapy, despite the methodological limitations, because of more prolonged and complete RAAS inhibition. Combination therapy has higher efficiency than monotherapy and is also associated with a higher incidence of adverse effects.

One of the use of internet is in medical field where there is an exchange of medical information over the internet between different hospitals, research centers for diagnosis purpose. The problem while exchanging medical information is the possibility of tampering, changing medical information of patient. One remedy for this is to use digital watermarking technique which ensures privacy, authenticity & integrity of medical information. In this article, SVD is used as a watermarking technique. Dual watermarks are concatenated, sparse coded & embedded using SVD. Then different attacks are planned on watermarked image & concatenated dual watermarks are extracted. The tampered watermarked image then recovered to restore medical information of patient. For experimental analysis, PSNR & NC are calculated to ensure robustness & transparency.
