By using the antioxidant property of pomegranate seed oil, the present work designed to prepare and evaluate topical formulation. A topical preparation containing pomegranate seed oil and honey like herbal products which are widely known for its bioactive constituents it contains polyphenols, flavonoids, and polyunsaturated fatty acids. The formulation were prepared by using mixture of pomegranate seed oil and almond oil with carbopol, stearic acid, cetyl alcohol as emulsifying agent and thickening agents. Formulation from F1 to F4 was studied for their physicochemical parameters and stability study. Depending upon the physicochemical parameters and stability and antioxidant activity, F4 batch containing 5% pomegranate seed oil and 5% almond oil can be considered as good for skin use.

SARS-CoV2, a novel coronavirus of Coronaviridae family, has caused a worldwide pandemic of COVID-19 infections. Most patients had respiratory symptoms causing pneumonia in severe cases, thus droplets have been focus of investigations in disease-transmission. However, gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms in some cases have warranted research, revealing possible fecal-oral routes. Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs), one of the most commonly-used drugs in gastric acid-related disorders, act by inhibiting H+-K+-ATPase pumps in parietal cells of oxyntic glands of stomach. This paper aims at finding the risk of COVID-19 infections in patients on PPI therapy. SARS-CoV2 enters human body through ACE-2 receptors. These receptors, though present extensively, are expressed primarily in alveolar tissue of lungs, enterocytes of small intestine. Surface expression of ACE2 receptors in alveolar epithelium explains widespread respiratory symptoms of COVID-19. To access ACE-2 receptors of small intestinal enterocytes, the virus has to pass through the stomach, where normal pH is around 2. SARS-CoV2, being pH-dependant, cannot tolerate this acidification and its half-life is greatly reduced. This study focuses on 150 patients across India, positive for COVID-19 infections by RT-PCR, where medication-history, specially PPIs were noted. PPIs increased risk of GI symptoms in COVID-19 from 14% to 61.9% with odds ratio of 5.6, proving PPIs greatly affect chances of GI symptoms. The explanation is by reducing gastric HCl, PPIs increase gastric pH from 2 to around 6. Once pH of 5-6 is achieved, virus can easily pass through stomach and reach ACE-2 receptors of small intestine, explaining a route for fecal-oral transmission.

Abstract: To assess the effect of progressive intensities of Suryanamaskar practices with a fixed duration on muscular strength of college female students. To achieve the purpose of the study, total twenty eight (28) college students from Purnidevi Girls College, Bolpur, West Bengal were selected randomly as subjects. The age category of the subject was 18-24 years. All the subjects were divided into two groups with 14 subjects each as experimental (N=14) and control (N=14) group. Experimental group underwent Suryanamaskar practices for a period of 12 weeks (3 months), five days a week, imparting progressive intensities of Suryanamaskar one month interval following a scheduled training protocol and control group did not participate in any training other than the regular routine. Pre-test and thrice post-tests on muscular strength in one month interval were conducted on the experimental and control groups. To determine the effect of progressive intensities of Suryanamaskar on muscular strength analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used. Muscular strength of experimental group was significantly improved compared with control group. As the intensities of Suryanamaskar increased the trend of Muscular strength ability showed significant gradual improvement over the period of three months. Progressive intensities of Suryanamaskar training interventions were effective for improving muscular strength.

Intelligence plays a vital role in the academic achievement of every student. This involves the ability to acquire and apply knowledge. It is also defined as the capacity for logic, understanding, self-awareness, learning, emotional knowledge, reasoning, planning, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Intelligence is the most popular term used in everyday life. It is not restricted to any particular activity. In recent years understanding the concept of Intelligence has changed drastically. In connection with this, several theories have been proposed by different scholars, like multi-factor theory by Edward Lee Thorndike (1920), the two-factor theory of intelligence by Charles Spearman (1927), Three-dimensional theory by Guilford (1955) and theory of multiple intelligence by Howard Gardner (1983). Academic Achievement is the extent to which a student, teacher, or institution has attained their short or long-term educational goals. Several studies have been conducted so far in the field of Education with respect to the relationship between intelligence and academic achievement. Most of the studies have concluded a positive relationship between intelligence and academic achievement at different levels. The sole purpose of this study is to conduct a meta-analysis to provide a quantitative synthesis of research findings on the relationship between Emotional intelligence, Social Intelligence, and Multiple Intelligence with the Academic Achievement.

DEA based CRR model is a very effective non-parametric tool to find the technical efficiency of any organisation, termed as DMU. The present study uses DEA approach to estimate technical efficiency of five private commercial banks in India based on the data for the year 2018-19. Two of the five selected banks, HDFC bank and Kotak Mahindra bank, are found to be efficient (?=1). ICICI bank, Axis bank and Federal bank are found to be inefficient based on the variables selected for the present study. The major factor resulting in poor performance of all the three banks is mismanagement of fixed assets. In case of Federal bank it is found that the input- Deposits has under-performed. Findings of the study reveal that some portion of the banks inputs are freely disposed or lost. Thus for increasing the efficiency these banks must fully utilise their inputs to gain maximum output.
