 Abstract

Abstract: The present study examined parental perceptions of parenting styles and their observed relationship with child developmental outcomes. The study focused on four parenting-style dimensions--authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and uninvolved parenting--and three observed child-development domains--emotional regulation, social competence, and academic behaviour. Data were obtained from 96 parent responses recorded in the study questionnaire. Item-level responses were scored on a five-point response scale and composite mean scores were calculated for each parenting-style and developmental domain. Descriptive statistics, Cronbach's alpha reliability analysis, Spearman's rank-order correlation, and multiple linear regression were used to analyse the data. Authoritative parenting had the highest mean score and was the predominant parenting-style classification in the sample. It was significantly positively associated with emotional regulation and social competence, whereas its association with academic behaviour was not statistically significant. Authoritarian parenting showed no significant bivariate associations with the three developmental domains, although it emerged as a significant predictor in the multiple regression model. Permissive and uninvolved parenting showed significant negative associations with social competence. The regression model explained 25.5% of the variance in overall child-development scores. Index Terms--parenting styles, authoritative parenting, authoritarian parenting, permissive parenting, uninvolved parenting, emotional regulation, social competence, academic behaviour, child development.

 Abstract

The rapid proliferation of digital financial services raises the concept of digital financial literacy for making wise financial decisions. The review presents an analysis of the current state of knowledge about DFL and explores its recent behavioural and psychological aspects, including digital financial inclusion, impulsivity, cyber hygiene and locus of control. A systematic literature review was conducted using studies from reputable journals and academic databases. In total, 80 studies were reviewed according to their relevance in the field. The review entails studies from different geographical areas that used a variety of methodologies, such as structural equation modelling, confirmatory factor analysis and regression analysis. The findings highlight that digital financial literacy is a multidimensional concept, including components like knowledge, skills, confidence, awareness and management of digital financial skills. Moreover, the review reveals that digital financial literacy is a significant driver of digital financial inclusion, fostering responsible financial behaviour, and promoting financial well-being. Psychological and behavioural factors like impulsivity and locus of control, as well as cybersecurity practices, which can be measured through cyber hygiene, have become an important dimension in the study of individuals' digital financial behaviour. Yet, there has been relatively little research into this issue from this perspective, and there remains much ambiguity concerning DFL in general.

 Abstract

Vedic Mathematics, or Sixteen Simple Mathematical Formulae from the Vedas

 Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital financial services (DFS) has transformed the way consumers access, use and manage financial products and services. Digital payments, mobile banking, digital lending, electronic wallets, online investment platforms, Insure Tech and artificial-intelligence-enabled financial services have improved convenience, accessibility and financial inclusion. However, the increasing digitalisation of finance has simultaneously generated new and intensified risks for consumers. These include cyber fraud, phishing, identity theft, data privacy violations, algorithmic bias, inadequate disclosure, digital exclusion, inappropriate products, over-indebtedness and weaknesses in grievance redressal. This study presents a systematic literature review of research on digital financial services and consumer protection, focusing particularly on emerging risks, regulatory responses and future research priorities. The review adopts a PRISMA-oriented approach to identify, screen, assess and synthesise relevant academic and policy literature. The literature indicates that consumer protection in digital finance is increasingly moving beyond traditional concerns of transparency and fair treatment towards issues of data governance, algorithmic accountability, cybersecurity, responsible digital lending and technology-enabled fraud. Recent international evidence also indicates that financial scams and fraud, consumer debt, digital exclusion and opaque algorithmic decision-making are among the major emerging concerns. The review further finds that regulatory frameworks are evolving through enhanced disclosure, responsible lending requirements, data protection, cybersecurity measures, regulatory sandboxes, market-conduct supervision and digital financial literacy initiatives. The study proposes an integrated conceptual framework linking digital financial innovation, emerging consumer risks, regulatory responses and consumer financial well-being. It concludes by identifying future research opportunities relating to artificial intelligence, generative AI-enabled fraud, digital lending, consumer data governance, vulnerable consumers and cross-country regulatory effectiveness.

 Abstract

Background: Dysmenorrhoea is a common menstrual disorder among adolescent girls and may adversely affect daily activities and health-related quality of life. The present study evaluated clinical outcomes following individualized homoeopathic treatment with Calcarea carbonica. Objective: To evaluate changes in dysmenorrhoea severity, health-related quality of life (HRQoL), and haemoglobin levels before and after individualized treatment with Calcarea carbonica. Methods: A clinical study was conducted among 30 female adolescents aged 14-19 years with dysmenorrhoea at MNR Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Fasalwadi, Sangareddy, during 2023-2025. Participants were selected according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Calcarea carbonica was prescribed individually according to the totality of symptoms in 200C or 1M potency, with repetition according to clinical requirement. Participants were followed monthly for approximately six months. Dysmenorrhoea-related outcomes were assessed using the WaLIDD score and health-related quality of life using the RAND 36-Item Health Survey (RAND-36). Haemoglobin levels were also recorded. Results: The mean WaLIDD score decreased from 6.87 before treatment to 1.63 after treatment, representing a mean reduction of 5.23 points. The difference was statistically significant (paired t-test, t = 15.49, df = 29, p < 0.001). The mean HRQoL score increased from 67.93 before treatment to 88.50 after treatment, representing a mean improvement of 20.57 points (paired t-test, t = 19.11, df = 29, p < 0.001). Haemoglobin levels increased in 23 participants (76.67%), while no change was recorded in 7 participants (23.33%). Conclusion: Individualized treatment with Calcarea carbonica was associated with improvement in dysmenorrhoea-related outcomes and HRQoL in the study population. However, the small sample size, single-centre design and absence of a control group limit causal interpretation. Larger controlled studies are required to further evaluate this treatment approach
