The performance-based design (PBD) has been widely recognized as an alternative to the traditional code-based design. The method has been proved to produce more reliable and performance-targeted designs with an advance in using nonlinear modeling and analysis techniques. However, the Egyptian code of practice does not include any guidelines to use the PBD. The current study presents a comprehensive seismic evaluation of two moment-frame reinforced concrete buildings 10 and 20 stories which are represntaive of common structural stsytem in Egypt using the performance-based design procedures. The seismic evaluation was performed using two sesimic performance levels which are the design-based earthquake (DBE) and maximum considered earthquake (MCE). The nonlinear time-history analyses for both performance levels provided valuable information using transient-inter-story drift, residual drift, and plastic deformation about the over conservatism of the serviceability and strength demands in the Egyptian code.

The Madarsa is a living embodiment of a once-thriving educational system. It was unconcerned about the rate of growth and advancement in other areas of life, and it resisted any improvement or innovation in the education it provided. In India, a significant number of Muslims attend Madarsa or Urdu-medium schools for their education. An educational institution is referred to as a madarsa in Arabic. Religious education was never needed of Madarsas. However, much has changed in this thinking in recent years, and Madarsa is now regarded as the centre for providing only religious education. People from the backward Muslim community nowadays put a high importance on quality education in their Madarsa. However, several Madarsa in India are privately owned, and the leaders of these Madarsa are unable to meet the needs of this group. The main goal of this paper is to determine the contribution of Madarsa education and its significance in the Muslim community, as well as to identify its shortcomings. For the overall growth of the Muslim community, this paper proposes some remedial steps to enhance the standard of Madarsa education.

Emotions are the purest form of our soul to express what we feel inside our hearts. The process of recognizing feelings developed in the computer field a long time ago. Several face recognition techniques have been discovered in the technological aspect. Surveys into automatic face detection has been conducted since the 1960s, but the problem remains largely unsolved. The past decade has made major advances in this field due to advances in facial analysis and modeling techniques. Despite the development of face detection and tracking systems, reliable face recognition remains a major challenge for researchers in the field of computer vision and pattern recognition. There are several reasons behind the recent increased interest in face recognition, including a growing public interest in security, the need for identity verification in the digital world, and face analysis and modeling techniques in managing multimedia and computer entertainment data. In this chapter we discussed the processing of face recognition, including key components such as face detection, tracking, alignment, and feature extraction, and points out the technical challenges of building a face recognition system. We focus on the importance of the most successful solutions available to date. In this paper, we discussed various traditional face recognition techniques that have developed approaches to manipulate them with different datasets to achieve accurate results.

Phenology is a term that refers to the dates of the first occurrence of each natural event in its annual cycle. It entails examining how living organisms react to seasonal and climate changes in their surroundings. A total of 11 species from seven families were chosen at random for the study, including two Sapotaceae species, two Fabaceae species, two Moraceae species, two Meliaceae species, one Rutaceae species, one Moringaceae species, and one Bignoniaceae species. The current study evaluated the phenology of selected tree species from New Maninagar and jashoda nagar, Ahmedabad, over a three-month period (January 2021 to March 2021). Selected tree species and their branches were tagged for observations of various phenological events at these study sites, and visited these sites at least three times in a month for observations. Observations were made during the interval between two sampling dates (usually 10 days) and presented as phenogram. In all conspecific trees, the following phenological events were observed viz. 1) Leafing 2) Flowering 3) Fruiting and 4) Leaf fall. This research found that maximum leaf initiation occurred in the months of February and March (06 species), maximum flowering occurred in the months of January and March (03 species), maximum fruiting occurred in the months of January and March (07 species), and maximum leaf fall occurred in the months of January and March (02 species). The variations in phenophases are due to changes in environmental conditions, habitat, and soil availability, as well as the nutrient content of the soil, which was adapted to the habitats in accordance with the surrounding abiotic and biotic environment of this study area.

This paper addresses genetic algorithm based method to find k shortest and longest path of a graph. The k-shortest path problem is a generalisation of the shortest path problem in graph theory. It has applications in areas like network routing and multi-object tracking. The longest path problem, on the other hand, is a generalisation of the Hamiltonian path problem. It is used in finding the critical path, among other things. This has applications in circuit design, planning and scheduling. The proposed genetic algorithm based method has been applied to both problems and the conditions which yield the maximum number of paths are determined. The proposed method is efficient to find out better quality path. Comparison with a traditional algorithm is made to judge the effectiveness of the approach

Banks play a crucial role in providing the desired financial resources to the needy sectors of the economy. And therefore, banks are considered as the supporting pillar and backbone for the economy. The flow of money from person to person, business to business, country to country just possible due to the efficient banking system. Credit or default risk exists in money lending in the form of short, medium, and long-term advances. When bank or financial institution loans or advances turn out to be non-productive, non-rewarding, or non-paying, they become non-performing assets. Indian banks are in poor shape, with large amounts of bad loans and a sharp increase in gross nonperforming assets (NPAs). The aim of this paper is to examine non-performing assets in major public sector banks and their implications for bank profitability. The study is focused on secondary data from RBI studies, various gazetted websites, and various online research papers and articles relevant to the subject.
