Background: Burns are a global public health problem caused by the high rate of burn mortality and morbidity. Based on the medical records of RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan, there were 353 cases of burns in 2011-2014, the most common cause was flame burn injury. ). The optimal concentration of topical vitamin C which has a biologically significant effect with a concentration greater than 8% and a concentration greater than 20% does not have a significant biological effect. Objective: This study examined the effect of topical vitamin C administration on mid-dermal burns on increased collagen deposition. Methods: This study is an experimental study. The research design used in this study is a simple experimental design (Post Test Only Control Group Design). A total of 40 samples were analyzed on the 14th day after burns induction consisting of 2 groups, namely 20 samples from the control group and 20 samples from the experimental group (vitamin C). Results: In the analysis of collagen scores, most cases in the experimental group had moderate and intense collagen scores with 8 samples (40%) of each case. Whereas in the control group, most cases had a focal collagen score (55%). Using the Mann Whitney test, there was a significant difference in collagen scores between the control group and the experimental group (p = 0.001). Conclusion: Vitamin C is effective in the healing process of burns. Topical use of vitamin C can be an option for patients who have large burn areas.

ABSTRACT Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women (24.2%) and the second most common cancer in the world (11.6%). Approximately 2.089 million new cases of breast cancer were identified in 2018. Expression of IGF-1R correlates with ER expression and predicts a favorable phenotype. Several studies have confirmed further cross-talk between ER and IGF-1R in breast cancer. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine differences in IGF1R expression according to breast cancer subtypes in very young women at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan. Methods: This study was an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study was a woman with a diagnosis of breast cancer at a very young age at RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan from January 2015 to December 2019 who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of 52 samples. Results: In this study, the median age of patients in luminal A breast cancer subtype was 33 years, where the age of the youngest patient was 23 years and the age of the oldest patient was 35 years. It was found that 33 patients (63.5%) had low IGF1R expression and 19 patients (36.5%) and 20 patients (38.5%) with an advanced local stage and only 1 patient (1.9%) with an early stage. In the test of significant differences in IGF1R expression according to breast cancer subtypes in very young women at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan with a p-value of 0.031 (p <0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant difference in IGF1R expression according to breast cancer subtype in very young women at RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan where higher expression was found in luminal A compared to luminal B and TNBC.

For increasing of transport system and industrial system, the amount of Diesel-Gasoline Exhaust Particles (DGEPs) are also increasing day by day. DGEPs contains various gasses such as nitrogen oxide, Sulphur oxide, many carbon compounds like carbon monoxide, ammonia, cyanide, organic substance like benzene, toluene etc. Worldwide urbanization and industrialization are cause of horrible pollution. We can divide DGEPs into two parts like DEP (particles emitted from diesel combustion) and GEP (particles emitted from gasoline combustion). DGEPs show the harmful effects on human respiratory system, immune system, cardiovascular system, nervous system, endocrine system and reproductive system. We review ultimately the human exposures to DEPs and GEPs and summarized the investigation into association between DGEPs and effects on various human systems.

Zooplanktons are the most fascinating group of micro organisms found in aquatic bodies. They play a vital role as primary consumers. The zooplanktons have great significance in biology of the organisms, especially for the fishes. The present study was aimed to investigate the seasonal variation in zooplankton diversity of Velair Lake, located in Warangal district, Telangana. The study was carried out for a period of one year from June 2016 to May 2017.This lake has rich number of species biodiversity of aquatic animals. Four different groups of zooplanktons were identified in this study which include Rotifera,Cladocra,Copepoda and Ostracoda. Total 18 spices of zooplankton were identified which include of 10 species of rotifer, 4 spices of cladocera, 3 species of copepod and ostracoda 1 species. The zooplankton community was maximum in summer season, minimum in monsoon season. The composition of zooplankton rotifers was dominant (59%) followed by cladocera (21%), copepod (15%) and ostracoda (5%).
