 Abstract

Background: The exposure of pregnant women to atmospheric pollutants is related to early development of the fetus, low birth weight, preterm delivery and low placental weight. The low placental weight occurs due to oxidative stress, which may cause placental abnormalities. Objective: The present cross-sectional study was conducted to know the effects of air pollution on the placental pathology by taking 373 women volunteer participants with normal pregnancy from thickly populated traffic congestion, industrial and remote rural areas of Odisha, India. Methods: We collected pollution level of air pollutants of three study areas during 2015 to 2018 from Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) Bhubaneswar. The placental tissue was collected immediately after delivery. The effect of air pollutants on the placental pathology was studied by Histopathological studies done by Hematoxylene and Eosin staining method and photographed by florescent microscope. Results: The present study showed level of pollution, percentage of exposure of pregnant mothers to ambient air pollution, preterm delivery, significant increase in preterm birth in heavy traffic congestion areas (Cuttack zone) and industrial areas (Jajpur zone) in comparison to rural non-industrial areas (Nilagiri zone). The histopathological study of placenta showed presence of PM2.5, Neutrophil granules, damaged tissues, desquamated epithelial tissues, thrombus and less number of villi in heavy traffic and industrial areas as compared to non-industrial areas. Conclusion: Our findings advocate that the exposure of pregnant women to air pollutants may adversely affects the growth and development of placenta and fetus in highly polluted areas. More studies are required for confirmation.

 Abstract

Brihat Samhita an encyclopedic work, which mainly deals with Samhita division of Jyoutisha Shastra and other useful, practical knowledge of the astronomical aspect. There are six Anga of Veda Purusha, among them; Jyoutisha Shastra is eye of Veda Purusha. As eye is important organ to perceive knowledge from outer world, Jyoutisha Shastra is important Anga to perceive the knowledge from Veda (1). There is indubitable relationship between Jyoutisha Shastra and Ayurveda as Vedanga and Upaveda. Jyoutisha Shastra has been incorporated by Our Acharyas to understand Ayurveda completely and to reap benefit of Ayurveda Shastra fruitfully. We can see many Ayurveda classics with application of Jyoutisha Shastra as trace. But few efforts had done on finding traces of Ayurveda in Jyoutisha Shastra.

 Abstract

Safe water is becoming a precious resource as a result of the combined effects of expanding population, contaminants, and climate change. Water tracking is critical, especially for domestic water. Laboratory-based testing approaches that have traditionally been used are time-consuming, expensive, and lack real-time feedback. Recently enhanced wireless sensor network (WSN) architectures have shown vulnerabilities in power management, data security, and dialogue insurance. We present here a survey aimed at summarizing the current state of the art in IoT-primarily based clever water exceptional monitoring structures (IoT-WQMS), particularly devoted to domestic programmers, as a result of recent advances in Internet-of-Things (IoT) that can be implemented in the development of more green, comfortable, and low-cost systems with real-time competencies. In summary, this study investigates commonplace water-pleasant tracking (WQM) parameters, their safe limits for drinking water, associated clever sensors, critical evaluation, and ratification of modern IoT-WQMS via a proposed empirical metric, evaluation, and discussion, and, finally, layout recommendations for a green system. Without a doubt, this research will contribute to the expanding zone of smart homes, workplaces, and cities

 Abstract

A concurrent error detectable adder with easy testability is proposed. The proposed adder is based on a multi-block carry select adder. Any erroneous output of the adder caused by a fault modeled as a single stuck-at fault can be detected by comparing the predicted parity of the sum with the parity of the sum, i.e., the XORed value of the sum bits, and comparing the duplicated carry outputs. The adder is also testable with only 10 input patterns under single stuck-at fault model. This property eases detection of a fault before the occurrence of a second fault. Both the concurrent error detectability to detect erroneous results and the easy testability to find a fault during operation are important for realizing reliable systems. Both the concurrent error detectability and the easy testability of the proposed adder are proven. A 32-bit adder has been designed. Its hardware overhead is about 70 percent. Its concurrent error detectability and 100 percent test coverage through the 10 patterns has been confirmed by fault simulation.

 Abstract

The present paper is an attempt to assess through empirical experiences of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme among the Scheduled Castes in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. The purpose of implementing the MGNREGS in nearly 200 backward districts across India is to provide employment to the rural poor. In rural Indian majority of the social groups involved in agriculture and the allied sector as skilled employees and rural poor belongs to Scheduled Castes.

 Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyze inhomogeneous sequence data caused by the presence of an unknown change point. We assume that the sequence data are from a Exponentiated Inverted Weibull Distribution with an unknown point of change in the scale and/or shape parameters. The Bayes estimates of ? and m are derived for asymmetric loss function known as General Entropy Loss Function under natural conjugate prior distribution. We propose Bayesian methods of estimating the change point, together with the model parameters, before and after its occurrence. Extensive simulations have been conducted to show excellent agreement between the distribution of the change point under finite sample sizes. The simulations are conducted under a change in the scale parameter as well as a change in both scale or shape parameters.
