The history of Hyderabad's liberation is often narrated through political leaders, military strategies, and state-level negotiations, yet the contributions of women remain significantly underrepresented. This study seeks to foreground the crucial role played by women in the liberation movements of Hyderabad, particularly within the Hyderabad State Congress (HSC) and the Telangana Armed Struggle (1946-1951). Women participated not merely as supporters but as active agents of change--organizing protests, mobilizing communities, engaging in underground networks, and even taking part in armed resistance. Their involvement challenged deeply entrenched patriarchal norms and redefined gender roles within both political and social spheres. Through an interdisciplinary approach combining archival records, oral histories, and secondary scholarship, this paper examines the multifaceted roles of women as organizers, combatants, communicators, and cultural mobilizers. It further explores how their participation intersected with issues of caste, class, and regional identity, revealing a complex landscape of resistance and empowerment. The study argues that women's contributions were integral to both political integration and social transformation in Hyderabad. Recognizing these contributions not only corrects historical omissions but also offers valuable insights into inclusive historiography and the continuing struggle for gender equality in contemporary India.
