Abstract
The liberation of Hyderabad refers to the military operation carried out by India in the year 1948 to end the rule of Nizam of Hyderabad and integrate the princely ruled state in to the Indian Union. The Indian government led by then Home Minister Sri. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel initiated "Operation Polo" in the month of September 1948 to military annex Hyderabad. The Operation Polo program began on the 9th day of September 1948 and concluded on the 17the day of September 1948 with the surrender of Nizam and the dissolution of the Razakar's resistance and then the city of Hyderabad formally become a part of India.
