  Abstract

Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP systems are now a pretty central thing for modern organizations since they tie together multiple business functions , and in a way make daily operations run more smoothly. In India, the ERP scene seems to be changing fast, mostly because cloud computing is getting more popular, plus artificial intelligence, automation, data analytics, and these broader digital transformation programs that keep appearing. Many organizations, across sectors , are putting in ERP systems so that business processes get streamlined , decisions become easier to make , and overall organizational performance gets a boost. In this study, the main purpose is to look at what current ERP trends look like , and also to think about where ERP could realistically go next in India's business setting. For the research method, a qualitative approach was used, and the evidence came from semi-structured interviews. Participants included ERP consultants, project managers, IT professionals, business owners , and also ERP users. After the interviews, the data were processed using thematic analysis, so major patterns, opportunities, and obstacles around adopting ERP could be identified. The results suggest that cloud-based ERP options, AI integration, automation, and analytics-led decision-making are actively shaping what ERP will look like in India moving forward. At the same time, some stumbling blocks still show up--like implementation costs that can climb, employee resistance, training needs that take time, and cybersecurity worries that are not really going away. The study, overall , ends by saying that ERP systems will likely keep being important for digital transformation and for business growth across India.
