Introduction Primary education forms the fundamental foundation for the cognitive, emotional, and social development of every learner. It is at this stage that the trajectory of a child's future educational journey is largely determined. However, one of the major challenges confronting primary education in West Bengal is the increasing prevalence of mathematics anxiety among students. Mathematics anxiety refers to a state of intense psychological tension, apprehension, and fear experienced while dealing with mathematical concepts, numerical operations, or problem-solving tasks. This anxiety significantly hinders students' natural cognitive development and academic performance (Ashcraft, 2002). From the perspective of educational psychology, mathematics anxiety occupies a substantial portion of a learner's working memory, thereby reducing the cognitive resources available for mathematical reasoning and problem-solving. As a result, students struggle to maintain the concentration necessary for solving mathematical problems effectively and often experience a form of cognitive paralysis, which adversely affects both their confidence and academic achievement.
