  Abstract

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND Adolescence is a period of rapid physical growth and development, placing girls at a heightened risk for nutritional deficiencies and anemia. This study aims to determine the prevalence of anemia and identify its socio-demographic nutritional, and clinical determinants among adolescent girls. METHOD Abstract Hemoglobin levels were assessed using standardized testing methods. Data on dietary diversity, menstrual hygiene, socioeconomic status, and parental education were collected using a structured questionnaire. RESULT As per hemoglobin test of adolescent girls 16.66% (5) subjects were mild anemic, 80% (24) subjects were moderately anemic and remaining 3.33% (1) subject was severe anemic. There is significant association between prevalence of anemia with socio demographic variables. The finding is prevalence of anemia is not significant6 with age, significant with diet, significant with general appearance, significant with nature of menstruation, significant with duration of bleeding, not significant with monthly family income, significant with mothers literacy status. CONCLUSIONS The high prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls represents a significant public health concern. The findinas underscore the critical need for targeted nutrition education routine iron and folic acid (IFA) supplementation and improved menstrual hygiene management to mitigate the long-term impacts on adolescen health and future maternal outcomes.
