Ama, a term encompassing diverse malformed substances within the body, finds conceptual correlation with lysosomal storage disorders (LSDs) or metabolic storage disorders. LSDs involve the absence or dysfunction of specific lysosomal enzymes crucial for digesting large molecules, resulting in the accumulation of undigested substances inside lysosomes.
