Bharat(India) possesses one of the world's oldest, most profound intellectual traditions. The Ancient Bhartiya Knowledge System (ABKS) is a vast repository of scientific, philosophical, medical, mathematical, and ecological wisdom that thrived in ancient universities like Nalanda, Takshashila, Vallabhi, and Vikramshila. However, during colonial times, this system was marginalized and gradually replaced by Western models of education. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has brought a renewed emphasis on India's intellectual heritage and its alignment with modern education. This research paper explores how ABKS can be thoughtfully and effectively integrated into school and college curricula in India. It includes theoretical frameworks, pedagogical models, comparative insights, case studies, and practical implementation strategies. The aim is not to idealize the past but to retrieve its most valuable knowledge streams and harmonize them with modern disciplines, encouraging holistic development, intercultural awareness, and global competence among Indian students.
