Abstract
Climate change is a critical health threat of the twenty-first century, directly impacting human health through increased temperatures and extreme weather. Health risks are manifesting globally, with reports of additional health-threatening days and severe impacts in regions like India. Direct health effects include injuries from disasters, heat-related illnesses, and exacerbated cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. Furthermore, climate change threatens food security, increases vector-borne diseases, and poses mental health challenges. A resilient healthcare system and proactive measures from health professionals are essential for addressing these challenges. Governing bodies must integrate health into climate policies, promote resilience, and prioritize vulnerable populations to mitigate the impacts. Immediate, coordinated action can lead to a healthier future.
