Transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS) present a promising alternative by offering non-invasive, sustained, and targeted delivery of therapeutics through the skin, bypassing first-pass metabolism and improving patient compliance. This review explores the integration of herbal phytoconstituents--such as capsaicin, curcumin, menthol, gingerol, and boswellic acids--into TDDS platforms for enhanced pain relief.
