Abstract
The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been a subject of debate in India for decades. It aims to replace personal laws based on religion with a common set of civil laws governing marriage, divorce, inheritance, and adoption. The historical context, constitutional provisions, difficulties, and ramifications of implementing UCC in India are all critically examined in this paper. It also explores judicial interpretations and contemporary perspectives on the subject. Through an examination of the existing literature and legal frameworks, this research emphasizes the importance of UCC in promoting gender justice and national integration while responding to issues of religious diversity and cultural identity.
