Abstract
To improve DNS security and stop attacks like DNS spoofing and cache poisoning, Linux hosts must install Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC). The main goal of this project is to set up a Linux server to use DNSSEC, which uses cryptographic signatures and key management to enable secure DNS resolutions. It will examine how to configure both authoritative and recursive resolvers, automate key rollover procedures, and sign DNS zones. In order to guarantee minimal damage while preserving a high level of security, performance factors such as system latency and resource utilization will also be examined. The study will also assess how well it integrates with contemporary security frameworks and technologies, offering a thorough manual for setting up DNSSEC in cloud and enterprise settings. Establishing best practices for smooth, effective, and secure DNS operations is the ultimate objective.
