Abstract
The 2022 Punjab Assembly elections were a turning point, characterized by a decisive victory for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which won 92 of the 117 seats. This shift reflected a widespread voter disappointment with the Congress party, marred by internal conflicts and governance issues. AAP's success was fueled by its promises of anti-corruption measures, governance reforms, and addressing key issues such as unemployment and drug abuse. The election dynamics revealed a growing public appetite for new political alternatives, moving away from long-standing parties like the Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Voter behavior showed a clear preference for fresh, pragmatic solutions over traditional political narratives. This change signals a transformative phase in Punjab's politics, emphasizing the electorate's desire for effective governance and new political leadership.
