These systems can improve skin absorption by optimizing the design and delivery rate of active ingredients through the stratum corneum. Moreover, innovations in material science and the ability to print bioactive compounds directly onto skin-adhering substrates have accelerated the development of transdermal delivery devices that bypass the first-pass metabolism, ensuring higher bioavailability.
