This article explores the current state of women empowerment in India, focusing on opportunities in various fields such as education, economic participation, and healthcare. It also examines the significant challenges faced by both working and household women, including the dual burden of professional and domestic responsibilities, workplace discrimination, and societal and cultural barriers. The role of government policies in promoting women empowerment is analyzed, with a focus on initiatives like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, and the reservation of seats for women in local governance.
