Abstract
An important turning point in the history of the Indian subcontinent was the abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution in August 2019. The goal of this essay is to provide a thorough analysis of the decision to remove Jammu and Kashmir's special status. This essay starts out by laying out the background information and growth of Article 370, highlighting the special clauses that gave Jammu and Kashmir's state an aspect of autonomy that set it apart from other Indian states. The conditions both before and after Article 370's abrogation are examined in this research.
