Abstract
The literature of Tripura, a northeastern state in India, is a profound reflection of its complex social fabric, characterized by the coexistence of diverse ethnic groups, primarily the Bengali and tribal communities. This paper explores how themes of migration, diaspora, and the quest for identity are articulated in Tripura's literary works. Through an analysis of selected texts, this study examines the impact of historical migrations, the resulting diasporic experiences, and the ongoing negotiations of identity within and between these communities. The narratives of belonging and displacement, often intertwined with the state's turbulent history, reveal the intricate dynamics of cultural assimilation, resistance, and the constant search for a stable sense of self in a changing world.
