Abstract
Financial independence is proportionately related with social independence. Due to the financial
independence, women are breaking free from traditional mindsets and old values. As a result of financial
self-reliance, women's self-confidence is increasing, allowing them to make important life decisions in their
lives independently, which was once unimaginable for women. Women have always been identified through
their relationships with men - as a daughter, wife, or mother. However, with financial stability, women are
now learning to establish their own identities and live with dignity. This is exemplified in Pracheta Gupta's
novel 'Dhulobalir Jibon’. The text discusses how financial independence is empowering women to break
free from traditional societal expectations, pressure and imposed norms and rules, and establish their own
identities, leading to increased self-confidence and autonomy in decision-making.
