The study of myth ultimately aims to increase our comprehension of the human predicament, our relationship to the outside world, and our search for transcendence and meaning.This study on 'treatment of myth in Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's 'the forest of enchantments' and 'the palace of illusion' aims to articulate how the myths and magic of the Hindu epics have been kept vigorous through the two prominent works of an effervescent author of the decade, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. The article also aims to analyse the combination of modernity infused in mythology which takes the versatile form of fiction.
