Abstract
Abstract;
India and Iran are age old friends and witnessed the long cultural, social, economical, religious and political affinities. During the course of the time various initiatives were held by both the countries to cement their relations. Various factors hampered the relations of the two age old civilisations however both are willing to overhaul their relations in future. In the present paper an attempt has been made to analyse the demographical overview of the Chahbhar port and its significance to India. Chahbhar port is often designated as thee 'Golden Gate' to the landlocked Commonwealth of Independent State countries and Afghanistan. From India's perspective the tactical importance of Chahbhar port is gigantic. Chahbhar port above and beyond giving access to the oil and gas wealth in Iran also provides doorway to India to the Central Asian Republic.
