Abstract
The sudden arrival of digital investing platforms like Robinhood, Groww, and Zerodha has transformed the retail investing ecosystem, particularly among youth cohorts. These platforms employ advanced gamification strategies--features like confetti animations, leaderboards, and daily challenges--to create engaging user experiences. This present research examines how these gamified elements influence risk-taking behavior among youths, drawing from secondary sources like academic papers, app analytics, regulatory filings, and industry case studies. Behavioral finance theories such as overconfidence, instant gratification, and loss aversion are tested against the backdrop of gamified investment platforms. It is also expected that the factors would lead to frequent trading, speculative investment strategies, and portfolio variance. Discussion also refers to the regulatory and ethical issues raised by authorities such as the SEC and SEBI over potentially addictive design principles.Developers are recommended to follow ethical design practices and increase transparency; educators are recommended to assign high priority to digital financial education; and regulators are called to address the challenge of balancing innovation and investor protection. The study concludes by calling for additional primary research, cross-cultural assessments, and review of regulatory implications for further research and regulation of the impact of gamification in the financial technology space.
