Abstract
The addiction could be enormous in group of people like tobacco, alcohol or cannabis.
Cannabis addiction is quiet rampant in young adults in city like Bangalore due to easy availability, affordability and accessibility. A major concern with legalisation of recreational cannabis use is increased availability and acceptability will lead to increased consumption, which in a way increase and prevalence of cannabis use disorder. The unique aspect of cannabis is the use of medicinal purpose and recreational purpose is still exist in many countries, even though considering their effects on behaviour, psychological and socially.
And this may affect the applicability of general drug use measures of cannabis. Apart from the medicinal usage it is been observed that cannabis is been abused drug amongst young adult. There are many adults who have got addicted to the drug and suffering from psychological problems. The impact of cannabis could be varied between the groups of people depending upon the usage and repetitive usage of the one.There are multiple disorders observed due to high consumption of cannabis such as psychosis, depression, anxiety, memory impairment, cognition problems, paranoia etc. There are many research have been brought together to measure the impact against the usage. The research has been put forth to highlight the disorders and usage of drug in young adult. The longitudinal study done, collecting the few samples from various hospitals, rehabs, NGO's to study the impact.
There are many scales have been validated in screening of cannabis addiction and as per the responses or observation rating is been given. CAST cannabis abuse screening test is a tool developed which consists of 6 items and 5 responses. Short scales have also been developed is screening of cannabis at early stages. There are severity of dependence scale (SDS), Cannabis use Disorders Identification Test (CUDIT) is also used in early detection and its effects. In recent years trend data from consecutive cross sectional surveys in a variety of European countries shown a general increase in the prevalence of cannabis use, particularly among the younger generations. There a lack of research on the respective concentration of drug and their impact on individual and their responses. This case study is qualitative based with specific longitudinal data for analysis is addition and their behavioural impact.
