India has done a major leap on developing the infrastructures such as express highways, power projects and industrial structures, dams etc. to meet the requirements of globalization. For the construction of civil engineering works, concrete play main role and a large quantum of concrete is being utilized. Both coarse aggregate and fine aggregate is a major constituent used for making conventional concrete, has become highly expensive and also scarce. Huge amount of rubber tyre waste is generating day by day which creates the disposal problem and has many environmental issues. As this scrap rubber waste is an elastic material having less specific gravity, energy absorbent material can be used as a replacement material for obtaining light weight concrete. In present study the aggregates in less stress concrete zone below the neutral axis are replaced by the scrap material like scrap tyre rubber aggregates (STRA) for one set and for other set fine aggregates in concrete are replaced byand steel scrap (SS). Replacement is done with varying proportion from 0% to 60% with increment of 20 %. Method of initial functions is used for finding bending stress of beams. The Method of initial functions (MIF) is an analytical method of elasticity theory.

The Development and growth of our communities, has adversely affected the quality of environment and has become a major threat to a sustainable society. Rapid industrialisation poses environmental issues, in terms of air, water pollution and land degradation .For a sustainable socio-economic system, sustainable environment is a prerequisite. The major challenge here is: how to ensure development in a sustainable manner by achieving a trade off between environment and development. In India around 11 million tonnes of by-product gypsum are annually. The average consumption of by product gypsum is only half the quantity produced. Hence the pile up of phosphogypsum may end up as a threat to the environment. Utilisation of Phosphogypsum as building material will clean the environment and transform the society by way of green ,affordable and rapid housing . Glass Fibre Reinforced Gypsum (GFRG) building technology reduces carbon foot print , save natural resources and completely green . This technology has many advantages like Light weight, Crack free, Termite/fire Resistant, Time saving and flexible in all aspects of home plan designs In an attempt to bring new construction system for mass housing, Building Material and Technology Promotion Council ( BMTPC ,Under the ministry of Urban Development ,Govt: of India) has identified and evaluated GFRG technology as a building system which can help in providing safe, strong and quality housing in quick time. In India housing using GFRG wall panel has crossed 20lakh Sft and it is helping to build a better society with affordable and rapid housing .

There is many domestic wastewater treatment processes in use today. Rotating biological contactors (RBCs) constitute a very unique and superior alternative for biodegradable matter. Ph, BOD and COD removal requires very less area, low energy consumption, short start-up, low operating and maintenance cost and high treatment efficiency. The present study of RBCs model and results focused on parameters that affect performance of the unit like Detention time, rotational speed, influent and effluent waste water characteristics. biofilm formation on the media and change in the effluent characteristics were studied for different parameters. Present study was under taken to analyze the feasibility treatment of waste water by using combinations within the RBC unit fitted with various operating conditions. In all, 10 combinations of discs were studied to judge the performance of treatment through RBC units. The unit was divided in to two identical stages and discs were arranged parallel to each other. Discs were immersed 40% in the water. The Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) system was fed with waste water from various localities. Comparing the result obtained for reduction in BOD and COD.

All living and non living creatures are integral parts of a web called as environment. The web supports all of us and in fact is the cause of our existence. Unfortunately the environment is getting severely polluted and is threatening to the very existence of life on earth. The Inter-governmental panel on climate changes has established that the primary cause of environmental pollution is life style. Consequently the environmental degradation can be prevented through mass participation. The society should have awareness regarding environmental friendly life style and its significance. At the same time the society should have a willingness to adopt the lifestyle friendly to environment. The present work is a case study done for the assessment of the awareness as well as the willingness fo the people to adopt environmental friendly life style.

Construction industry is a material and money intensive industry. Hence a very precise control over the material management is required mismanagement can lead to the wastage of material. This in turn can lead to estimate over runs and consequently financial crises. Apart from this, material loss leads to environmental damage also. The present work is a case study of Srinivas constructions, Bhusawal (India). A multistoried shoping complex cum residential building project is going on there. The project cost is estimated to be Rs 6178383/- which has gone up to Rs 7632400/-, that is a rise of more than 23%. In order to curb this rise, suggestions are given for better material management.

The amount of data in world is growing day by day. Data is growing because of use of internet, smart phone and social network. Big data is a collection of data sets which is very large in size as well as complex. Now a days, Big data is one of the most talked topic in IT industry. It is going to play important role in future. Big data changes the way that data is managed and used. Communicating by using information technology in various ways produces big amounts of data. Such data requires processing and storage. The cloud is an online storage model where data is stored on multiple virtual servers. Big data processing represents a new challenge in computing, especially in cloud computing. Data processing involves data acquisition, storage and analysis. In this respect, there are many questions including, what is the relationship between big data and cloud computing? The answer to this question will be discussed in this paper, where the big data and cloud computing will be studied, in addition to getting acquainted with the relationship between them in terms of safety and challenges. I have suggested a term for big data, and a model that illustrates the relationship between big data and cloud computing.

The work presented in this dissertation focused on developing a technique of requirement analysis of software engineering part of a software project management. A case study of academic organisation is considered as an example. A systematic environment for learning is a need of academic organization. Time is ever changing and their rate of change has accelerated to a very high level recently. Social, economic, political as well as cultural changes in the environment are undergoing developments at a higher rate. Academia cannot be isolated from these changes and hence the same is the context for academia organizations. Requirement analysis of academic organization require thorough investigation regarding the current requirement of academic standards, the problems based in reaching those standards, deriving procedures of quality achievement and major and non-major conformances of the same in academic organizations. To improve the performance of academic organization there is a need to study the requirement analysis of academic organization. Although requirement analysis is acknowledged as a critical success factor of information system development for organization, mistakes are frequent at the requirement stage. Two of these mistakes are lack of understanding by requirement engineers and miscommunication between user and system analysts. As a result of these problems, information system may not fulfill organizational needs. To prevent these problems, UML models are useful for understanding the problems and communication with people involved in a project Through these applications some errors will be detected in the existing requirement of an academic organization. Further in this work through the comparison of our proposed method with the conventional inspection, we will be concluding that our method can complement the limitations of the inspection.

Measuring Textual Similarity ,between words/ terms, sentences, paragraph and document plays an important role in computer science. In natural language processing (NLP), Semantic textual similarity is an important component for many tasks such as document summarization, word sense disambiguation, short answer grading, information retrieval and extraction . The lexical overlapping approach evaluate similarity among sentence and find whether a sentence pair semantically equivalent or not . Existing methods for computing sentence similarity have been adopted from approaches used for long text documents. These methods process sentences in a very high-dimensional space and are consequently inefficient, require human input, and are not adaptable to some application domains. Semantic textual similarity methods improved in two areas ,first is semantic relation between word and second is semantic resources to reduce dimension and overcome disadvantages of existing methods . In this paper, we have given the survey of various techniques and methods for textual similarity detection from sentence

Session management in distributed Internet services is traditionally based on username and password, explicit logouts and mechanisms of user session expiration using classic timeouts. And, most of the systems are based on pairs of username and password which verifies the identity of user only at login phase. Once the user is identified with username and password, no checks are performed further during working sessions. Emerging biometric solutions allow substituting username and password with biometric data during session establishment, but in such an approach still a single verification is deemed sufficient, and the identity of a user is considered immutable during the entire session, because the identity of user is permanent during whole session. Hence, a basic solution is to use very short period of timeouts for each session and periodically request the user credentials over and over. However it heavily affects the service usability and ultimately the satisfaction of users. The paper explores the system for continuous authentication of user using credentials such as biometric traits. The use of continuous biometric authentication system acquires credentials without explicitly notifying the user or requiring user interaction that is, transparently which is necessary to provide better service usability. Also, paper overcomes the problem of network traffic by making use of OTK for authentication purpose as transferring biometric data over low capacity network is not feasible.

Opportunistic networks are one of the most increasing evolutions of MANETs. In opportunistic networks the existence of a simultaneous path is not assumed to transmit a message between a source and a destination. In opportunistic networks, path connecting to the mobile nodes never exits, mobile nodes transmit messages with each other when they get opportunity to transmit. Furthermore, nodes are not supposed to possess or acquire any information about the network topology. Routes are built dynamically, while messages are route between the source and the destination, and anyone node can be selected as opportunistic network and node which pass message to neighbor node, only if it is likely to bring the message nearer to the final destination. These features make opportunistic networks a challenging and promising field of research. In this paper we describe approach for routing in opportunistic networks, rendering old traditional routing protocols unable to deliver messages between hosts. Thus, there is a need for a new technique to route through such networks. We propose composite approach which combines concepts of Epidemic Routing and Probabilistic routing techniques together with acknowledgement approach for better delivery. Our results show that composite routing protocol is able to provide better message delivery probability and less message delay.

- According to Risk Base Security (RBS ),leakage of sensitive data record instance has grown now a days. Human mistakes plays an important role in cause of data loss among various data leak. There are various method to detect the data leak cause by human mistakes and prevent the data by generating an alert . Among various approaches, monitoring the data which is transmit for expose of sensitive information is common. Also it consider all data as sensitive and perform detection operation for all those data. However this makes the detection process difficult and detection time to increase. In addition, the data owner may require to provide detection report to the DLD provider . But there is possibility that the provider can read the sensitive data. So there is a need of new data detection solution that allow provider to scan the content for leak without learning information. Therefore one need methods that gives accurate detection with very small number of false alarm under various leak scenario and result shows that the method improve the detection time

Now-a -days, people have a very free and convenient communication environment of internet where they show active participation to demonstrate what they actually feel about a particular event. May it be a poll result, incident, news, political issues, government schemes or any government decision for the citizens. People demonstrate their views by reacting through various parameters available on the social media. Some make a tweet using hash tags while some other prefer giving their views using statements, updating status or even updating their profiles in order to support a particular cause. But what if the predictors already know how the public is going to react on a particular event or news. For this prediction system help us out, in which there is analysis of the responses from public and then predict the future circumstances. Many applications are developed by using prediction systems. Some example are cancer detection, election poll results and many more. The day-by-day growing data can compromise the performance of the prediction system, because its obvious that growing network of data will require more storage and the system will also consume more time for its processing. In practical applications, maintenance of network storage and calculations will be costly with increasing number of nodes in the network. For this effective strategy for reducing processing time must be introduced. To reduce this processing time introducing parallelism concept can help.

Information is directed to its destination in distributed/multi-hop way in MANET along with the intermediate nodes. In HWN, finding on demand route and route support are very important factors for multi-hop routing . MANET is less reliable and appropriate for solely transmission of native data as compare to infrastructure based wireless network. In Infrastructure based Wireless Network communication is done between nodes through base stations. Infrastructure based Wireless Network gives very high data transmission rate and access power to channel, however it suffers from the drawback of upper power utilization on mobile nodes and its sole purpose of collapse. For recognizing defect node and retrieving defective node, algorithms are presented which will expand the lifetime of HWN in factors of low power utilization and improved efficiency. An important part which affects the working of wireless network in data transmission is routing protocol. In MANET whenever some of the sensor node gets crash then use of this algorithm helps in recognizing the fault node and also will exchange the same data with another high capacity node.

Internet of Things is advance feature in Communication and information Technologies, providing facilities of global connectivity and management between the sensors, devices, users and information. A typical architecture of IoT consist of sensor nodes which collects the data, Gateway which processes the data and a cloud which stores the data. IoT the devices are resource constrained that is devices run on low power and they have less memory and processing power. Hence, the protocol stack used in IoT communication is consisting of protocols optimized for running on resource constrained devices. In this paper, dealing with the protocol used in the communication between IoT devices. Here, we analyze the advance application layer protocols used in IoT protocol stack and measure the performance. The one of the latest advance protocol introduced in IoT domain is HTTP2.0 which has enormous potential to be become as useful as other legacy protocols used by IoT developers. Hence, analyze the protocol and find out the suitability of this protocol in IoT domain as compared to other existing protocols.

Artificial immune system (AIS) is an immune-based adaptive computational intelligence method used for detecting and preventing computer network threats in intrusion detection systems (IDS). Distributed control, self-organising and multi-layered detection these are the special features those make AIS efficient for intrusion detection. AIS generate antibodies (self) capable of recognizing antigen (non-self), which is considered as an anomaly technique. Whenever the formation of antibodies and antigens (rule formation) in AIS is implemented at two levels, they are termed as Two Level Artificial Immune Systems (TLAIS). TLAIS uses two different algorithms for self and non-self formation in both levels. The inherent characteristics of the algorithms used in TLAIS limit the efficiency of the TLAIS like premature convergence and overfitting. The proposed TLAIS aims to use two efficient algorithms in terms of time and memory to avoid such limitations

Natural language processing is a computer science field, which focuses on interactions between computers and human (natural) languages. The human languages are ambiguous unlike computer languages, which make its analysis and processing difficult. Most of the data present these days is in unstructured form such as Accident reports, Patient discharge summary, Criminal records etc, which makes it hard for computers to understand for further use and analysis. This unstructured text needs to be converted into structured form by clearly defining the sentence boundaries, word boundaries and context dependent character boundaries for further analysis. With the passage of recent federal legislation many medical institutions are now responsible for reaching target hospital readmission rates. Chronic diseases account for many hospital readmissions and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease has been recently added to the list of diseases for which the United States government penalizes hospitals incurring excessive readmissions. Though there have been efforts to statistically predict those most in danger of readmission, few have focused primarily on unstructured clinical notes. Here a framework is created for analyzing clinical notes and predicting readmissions of patients. Key steps include many algorithms within the field of data mining and machine learning, so a framework for component selection is created to select the best components. NLP is applied followed by some of processing techniques like, tokenization, stop words removal, stemming, pruning, semantic analysis, POS Tagger etc.

In natural language processing and understanding, semantic processing is an important task. In semantic processing some words has multiple senses (meanings) which are unrelated with each other. These multiple senses possess critical problems to linguists and they create ambiguity in sentence. Word sense disambiguation accepted this challenge. It is one of the central challenges in NLP and occurs in all the languages. Human can easily disambiguate the words but machine can not. WSD has numerous applications in machine translation, information retrieval, question-answering etc. The ambiguity can be lexical and semantic. In NLP, Word Sense Disambiguation(WSD) is the task of perfectly assigning the acceptable, correct sense (meaning) to the words having multiple senses in the given natural language text. WSD is categorized in three types wiz. Knowledge base, machine learning and Hybrid approach. The work carried out on Marathi language is limited. In the proposed work, we are resolving the ambiguity in Marathi words based on their senses and their context hybrid approach. Hybrid approach consist of modified Lesk with support Vector Machine.

Internet was designed as a point-to-point communication model between two hosts which requires an IP address for the connection with every networking interface they used. The connection does not guarantee the data forwarding when mobile user changes its location and there needs to repeatedly acquire an IP address. To address these problems some solutions were proposed are Mobile IP and Host Identification Protocol (HIP) but they do not support content mobility issues and the data forwarding while nodes in the network are moving. Moreover it is the challenging task with IP based mobility environment. Unless the change in IP based environment, mobile user will continue to have trouble for the connection with multiple network interfaces, increasing network overhead and less content retrieval. However, this leads to find an efficient alternative architecture to internet which is Named data Networking (NDN). NDN supports data access by Content Names (CNs) instead of IP. NDN data packets carry unique content names instead of source and destination address. The use of unique content names for data forwarding allows mobile users to have better data access as there is no need to repeatedly acquire an IP address and may continue with data forwarding which reduces network overhead. Therefore, the proposed work is intended to work with handling of mobility with Named data Networking.

During six months where the baby is normaly fed on breast milk, thereafter infant require significantly more nutrious weaning food, as part of introducing infant to normal food habit. Moreover the desirable weight gain of infant recommended and reported for healthy one year baby is about >9kg, which is normally three times weight of infant at birth. There is need to develope an economical and well nutrient weaning food as per RDA of baby food. In present study an attempt is made to develope weaning food formulations by partly replacing wheat flour and incorporating in different combinations of roasted rice flour, skim milk powder and sugar. Four weaning food formulations were prepared by replacing 20%, 40, %, 50%, 60% (w/w) of wheat flour and by adding roasted rice flour, skim milk powder and sugar, and were accordingly designated as WFM20, WFM40, WFM50 and WFM60 .The formulations were compared with sole wheat flour weaning food, which was used as control sample (WWF0). Four weaning food formulations were compared with control sample in context to their sensory attributes, physio-chemical parameters and functional properties. Data showed that, among four weaning formulations, sensory acceptable developed weaning food was WFM50, which can be prepared by mixing 50% pearl millet malt, 30% wheat and 10% roasted rice on (w/w) flour basis. It is revealed that, palatable weaning sample was found to be more readily dispersible (+15%), with more water holding capacity (+40% increase), more digestible (+7%) and better in minerals content than control weaning food. The acceptable weaning food (WFM50) was found to be about 20 % higher in protein , about 30 % higher in zinc and iron content , with four fold increase in calcium content in comparision with sole whaeat weaning food.

---In present study, an attempt extracts the starch from taro (Colocasiaesculenta) by standerd wet milling extraction process. Extracted starch was then enzymatically modified by using ?-amylase (Porcelain pancreatic amylase). The sample prepared by enzyme treatment was designated as ETMS and extracted starch was used as control sample (ES). Starch after treatment was dried and packed in polyethylene bag. ES and EMTS samples were analyzed for; amylose content (%), water absorption capacity (g/g), swelling power (g/g), solubility (g/g), enzyme digestibility (ED %) and dispersibility (%). functional parameters of EMTS were compared with ES. Result showed that the functional properties for EMTS were amylose content (15.39%), swelling power (17.43g/g), solubility (0.098g/g), water absorption capacity (1.53g/g), enzyme digestibility (62.70%) and dispersibility (75%), while for ES amylose content (17.83%), swelling power (16.02g/g), solubility (0.098g/g), water absorption capacity (1.64g/g), enzyme digestibility (59.32%) and dispersibility (83%). Data reveal that functional properties incsluding (swelling power and enzyme digestibility) were improved in EMTS. It was reported that amylose content, dispersibility and water absorption capacity was slightly reduced on enzyme treatment owing to denaturation amylose. Solubility was remains unchanged in both starches. Ice-cream is prepared by incorporating EMTS at 0.3%, 0.5% and 1 %. Sample ICEM 0.5 reported as best by sensory evaluation. Further sample ICEM 0.5 analyzed for Viscosity (Cp), % overrun and foam stability (for 120 min duration) by taking ICGG (0.4% guar gum incorporated Ice-cream sample) as control sample. Results for ICEM 0.5 showed that the viscosity (110.21Cp) and overrun (65.67%) were higher than viscosity (92.72 Cp) and overrun (62.31%) of ICGG. Sample ICEM 0.5 was also more stable than ICGG. Study concludes that modified taro starch can be prepared by enzyme modification (?-amylase) and useful as stabilizer in ice-cream with effective foam stability, viscosity and overrun.

Study of fermentation kinetics in ethanol production from damaged corn grains is crucial aspect for economical yield enhancement. Two samples of corn flour, namely control and damaged, with different carbohydrate and fibrous content, were used as substrates. Samples were liquefied and saccharified using commercial ?-amylase and glucoamylase, for production of fermentable sugars; Amount of fermentable sugar obtained after hydrolysis of damaged and control corn grains were 97 gL-1and 127 gL-1 respectively. Enzyme hydrolysates were then fermented to produce ethanol in batch mode. Glucose was consumed promptly in both cases, control and damaged; ethanol production was considerably higher in control (56 g/L), compared to damaged (45 g/L). Submerged fermentation of damaged corn grains flour represented about 80 % of total ethanol production, when fine corn grains flour was used as substrate. In damaged corn flour ethanol productivity and yield was 1.12 g/L/h and 0.18 g/g flour respectively. In control corn flour ethanol productivity and yield was 1.16 g/L/h and 0.22 g/g flour. Maximum sugar consumption rate (Sm) for damaged and control corn were 3.22 g. (L .h)-1 and 3.2 g. (L .h) -1 respectively. Maximum product formation rate for damaged and control corn (Pm) were 1.38g. (L .h)-1 and 1.35g. (L .h) -1 respectively. Fermentation efficiency of damaged and control corn grains were 91.3% and 91.7%.

Biogas is a developing alternative energy source engendered from the anaerobic digestion of organic matter by bacteria. It is composed primarily of methane and carbon dioxide (CO2) with trace amounts of other toxic compounds, such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The presence of CO2 decreases the energy yield from the combustion of biogas. Past studies have utilized extravagant and environmentally deleterious chemicals to purify biogas. This study involves the construction of a biogas purification system that utilizes microalgae to metabolize and abstract impurities from the system as well as gives treatment to sewage waste water. This method has the distinct advantage of being renewable due to the self-propagation of the microalgae. The microalgae are additionally engendering hydrocarbon products that can be utilized as a bio-fuel.

A potato processing industry use large quantity of water and therefore produces large liquid waste. Wastewater from the potato processing industry contain high concentration of chemical oxygen demand (COD) caused by the presence of starch and protein. In recent year membrane processes shows an effective alternative to traditional wastewater treatment processes for improving the efficiency and reducing the environmental impact in the food industry. Potatoes are cheap substrate for production of bioethanol, because it is rich in starch and require less processing than other grains. In this study, potato processing wastewater was treated by using reverse osmosis system. Experiments were carried out in order to compare each run of the reverse osmosis by varying operating conditions. It was found that optimum feed pressure for the treatment of potato processing wastewater was 10 kg/cm2 using polyethersulphone reverse osmosis membrane. The rejection of 95.25% dissolved solid, 96.42% chemical oxygen demand(COD) and recovery of 0.72% starch were observed at 10 Kg/cm2 feed pressure and transmembrane pressure of 8.5 Kg/cm2. Different potato starch solution(5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) were prepared for optimum production of bioethanol. Starch solution of 10% was recommended for high scale production of ethanol. Moreover, 4.7% of bioethanol was produced from 10% starch solution using Saccharomyces cerevisiae (baker's yeast).

Microbial fuel cell (MFC) is the device which can convert chemical energy stored in the organic compounds to the electrical energy using metabolic activity of microorganism. In MFCs various types of a substrate can be used as fuel. MFCs can treat the wastewater and simultaneously produced electricity. One of the most useful applications of MFC is used as a biosensor which can monitor biological oxygen demand (BOD) of wastewater. The output from the MFCs are low because of that it is not commercialized yet. Current and power output from the MFCs are low at present but it is expected that with improvements in research and technology, the amount of electric current and power will increase. The performance of MFCs affected by selection of Electrode, proton exchange membrane, substrate, operating conditions and cost. This review article presents the recent improvement in the MFC technology so far, that will help to increased current and power output from the MFCs.

The increasing consumer awareness and their concern about food safety has drawn the attention of food scientists and technologists to the development of natural antimicrobials to preserve food instead of artificial chemical preservative. The aim of present work was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of Cinnamon, Clove, Garlic and Ginger using their methanol and aqueous extract against food borne pathogens (E. coli, S. aureus, B. subtilis, and B. cereus) and to utilize the powdered form of spices in the shelf life extension of bread . The study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% of methanol and aqueous extract of spices against test pathogens. Disc diffusion method was used to check the antimicrobial activity. Clove and Cinnamon extracts (methanol and aqueous) showed higher antimicrobial activity than Garlic and Ginger. Bread incorporated with Cinnamon powder shown more sensory acceptability than Clove bread therefore Cinnamon powder was selected for the final development of spiced bread for improvement in shelf life. Sensory point of view the Cinnamon powder incorporated at 2.5% level in bread give away better result. The shelf life study of 2.5% Cinnamon powder incorporated bread revealed improvement in shelf life by 2 days as compared to control bread.

Columns have great importance in chemical engineering. They are mainly used for unit operations like distillation, absorption and stripping. There are many commercial software packages are available to control such column operations. But they are very costly and sometime they are difficult to operate for field operator due to lack of knowledge of such high professional suits. To meet this requirement we tried to design cylindrical column and kept graphical user interface very simple and easy to understand. This software is designed to calculate real number of trays and outlet concentration of column and all results are compared with MATLAB. This design can be further extended to calculate height of column. And results can be compared with python.

Today, the most important problem of every industry is how to tackle the wastewater? There are many researchers work on it; several methods are introduced to reduce the pollution due to wastewater, which is caused by many industrial processes. Recently, algae have become significant organisms for biological purification of wastewater since they are able to accumulate plant nutrients, heavy metals, pesticides, organic and inorganic toxic substances and radioactive matters in their cells/bodies. In this research work, microalgae samples were collected from local river and cultivated in different media solutions. Fully-grown algae was used to treat the wastewater collected from local industries. Microalgae treatment of wastewater reduces the BOD, COD, TDS, TSS, and TS. The percentage reduction of BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, and TS was 86-92%, 82-88%, 60-66%, 47-53%, 45-53% respectively. Ammonium nitrogen reduced to 78-82% and total nitrogen content reduced to 77-83% by the algal treatment on wastewater. The pH is also changes from acidic nature to neutrality.

Oil sorbents contains a wide range of organic, inorganic and synthetic products designed to remove oil in preference to water. The composition and configuration of oil sorbent are based on the material used and their intended application in the response. Synthetic sorbent material should be used in self-restraint and care should be taken to ensure that it is used to its maximum capacity to minimize subsequent waste disposal problems. Sorbents are used most effectively during the final stages of shoreline clean-up and for recovering small pools of oil that cannot be easily recovered using other clean-up techniques. Although some sorbents have been specifically made for viscous oils. For sustainable environmental disposal of used sorbents is major issue. This paper, reviews method of oil spill cleanup, factors affecting the oil spill cleanup, sorbent material and its forms, properties of oil sorbent, criteria for selecting sorbents. The need for extensive study of improving and developing viable natural absorbents in recent years is increasing due to the enormous negative environmental impact of oil spill to the surroundings and the inhabitants. Therefore proposes eco-friendly materials such as Sugarcane bagasse, sugar leaves straw, phragmitesaustralis, straw fibers, palm fruit wastes as promising oil absorbent materials. Sugarcane bagasse has been the most widely available and probably the most efficient of all these materials. Sugarcane bagasse can float on the water surface for a very long period of time to collect oil adequately. It has been found that Sugarcane bagasse sorption capacity is higher than phragmitesaustralis sorbent, sugar leaves straw.

The produced water obtained along with crude oil upon extraction is reinjected into the reservoir to maintain its water pressure and improve its oil producing characteristics. Treatment and handling of produced water before reinjection has been a major concern for the upstream industries. A commonly used method for treatment of produced water is adsorption. In this paper we have also done a comparative study of existing material used for preparing activated carbon and their industrial application. We are using eco friendly materials for preparing activated carbon which was not used earlier for treating petroleum industry produced water at polishing stage. Our objective is to use this technique by preparing activated carbon prepared from bamboo and coconut shells in order to minimize the cost and improve efficiency. We shall assess the removal efficiency of contaminants using the selected carbon and analyze the effect of various parameters like initial concentration, temperature, etc on the removal of contaminants from the produced water. We shall also study the kinetics of the process, and analyze the adsorption models, and breakthrough curves.

Packed bed column adsorption is an efficient and cost effective process for removing various pollutants from industrial effluent. Coal fly ash (CFA) generated from coal-burning power plants may pose serious implications on the economy and environment. MCFA was synthesized from CFA, by hydrothermal alkali treatment method. MCFA was reported to be amorphous, with 43.72% Al2O3 and structure of aluminosilicate matrix. In the present study, MCFA is used as an adsorbent in packed bed column for sequestering phenol. The column was operated at variable phenol concentration (70.0, 292.7, 651.2, 1039.9 mg/l) with variable flow rate (0.375, 0.75, 1.0 ml/min), using different bed height (7.5, 13.5, 27.5 cm). Local pulp and paper mill effluent containing 78 ppm phenol was percolated through 13.5 cms bed height column (10g MCFA) at flow rate of 1ml/min rate , study showed that column was saturated after 8hrs feeding, which removed 2.378 mg/g of phenol ( 30% phenol )l from paper effluent. In insitu ,dynamic column removal of phenl was reported to be lower than pure standard phenol feed under similar experimental condition, that may be attributed to commultive adsorption of pollutants. Packed bed column of MCFA may be deemed as comparatively cheaper adsorbent for removal of phenol from phenol rich effluent like textile industry. Modified Coal Fly Ash (MCFA), may herald an interesting promise as comparatively cost-effective adsorbent for removal of phenol from phenol rich industrial effluent. The scale up design parameters of wider diameter column can be estimated as 13.5 cm bed height , 12.24 cm column diameter (d) with surface area of 117.75 cm2 , which can be packed with 3338.17 grams of MFCA adsorbent , which can be operated at 150 cm3/min flow rate .

Pour point depressants (PPD) are widely used for mitigating wax deposition problems. But they are costly and environmentally hazardous. Another method which has attracted the attention is the magnetic field (MF) conditioning method. Though this method is environmentally friendly and economical, the results obtained have found to be controversial. The viscosity and pour point may increase or decrease. This has been attributed to number of reasons, the main reason being the specificity of crude oil and its interaction with the magnetic field. Hence an attempt has been made to investigate the combined effect of PPDs and MF for better viscosity and pour point reduction. It has been found that there is no substantial enhancement in the viscosity and pour point reduction with the combination. Hence pure PPD method dominates wax inhibition methods as of now.

Considering the wide applications of motors in various applications in diversified field, it has become necessary to have proper control to fulfil the necessary task. Also different applications have different requirement in terms of voltage, current and power and at the same time to improve its performance, the parameters such as total harmonics distortion (THD), ripples, losses are to be controlled. So in case of AC-AC conversion, to minimise the conversion stages, matrix converters are becoming more popular for closed loop control for ac motors. Also with proper switching of devices in matrix converter, could improve the quality of output by the application of appropriate PWM technique. This paper reviews the different closed loop control strategies used in AC motor as well as the application of matrix converters with appropriate PWM control.

Analysis of solar domestic hot water (SDHW) storage tank carried out by using CATIA and ANSYS software. The tank fluid is in steady mode. The storage tanks made up of MS plate, 50 mm Polyurethane, Glass wool and Rockwool insulation, outer-cladding cover. Hot water storage tank model made in CATIA software and effect of different insulation materials such as Polyurethane, Glass wool and Rockwool analyzed in ANSYS. Due to improper insulation material the constant hot water temperature inside the tank drops after of certain period due to heat diffusion and natural convection from the tank walls and it is difficult to get constant temperature all the time. To keep constant temperature polyurethane is best insulation than Glass wool and Rockwool. Also for minimum night heat losses polyurethane is best insulation than Glass wool and Rockwool

This work explores the grindability improvement of Inconel 718 (IN-718) under dry, flood cooling technique (FCT), minimum quantity cooling and lubrication (MQCL) and liquid nitrogen environments. The coolant flow rate in MQCL and liquid nitrogen grinding has been regulatedthrough in-house designed and developed arrangements. Grinding forces have been measured on-line in surface grinding experiments. Measuredtangential forces have been used in the calculation of specific grinding energy. Additionally, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) study and Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analysis of grinding chips havebeen performed. From the present experimental findings, it is observed that liquid nitrogen grindinghas proven its effectiveness in the form of lower grinding forces, least specific energy, and least oxidationof ground surfaces. Small C type chips formed in grinding under MQCL and liquid nitrogen cryogenicconditions indicates the effective cooling under these environments. The findings of the EDX analysis of thegrinding chips also support the finding of the present study through highest oxidation in dry grinding compared to MQCL and cryogenicgrinding. From this work, it has been concluded that cryogenic grinding and MQCL grinding offer a clean and a cost-effective means to improve the grinding process performance compared to dry and FCT grinding.

Internal combustion engine running on Liquefied Petroleum Gas are well proven technologies and work much like gasoline- powered spark ignition engine. This is normally used in spark ignition engine for bi-fueled petrol and LPG vehicles. Increasing focus on liquid petroleum gas (LPG) as clean, relatively low in cost and abundant source of energy to provide affordable fuel-efficient transportation, needs research for optimization approach to manage fuel, air, and combustion to achieve best result in vehicle power, fuel efficiency and low emissions. However power output of LPG fueled engine is reduced by 10-15% compared to petrol fuel. In this study, exhaustive literature survey is carried out and experimental setup is discussed for further investigation. Basic task is to evaluate effect of LPG on various performance parameter of the engine with brake, indicated and friction power, thermal efficiencies, fuel consumption, volumetric efficiencies. Existing multi-cylinder petrol engine is modified for required set up in which Morse test, heat balance sheet and engine oils are also to be analyzed for tribological behavior of engine.

An attempt is made here to investigate effect of geometric feature specially curvature ratio and shape of coil by experimentally. The heat transfer analysis of straight helical coil and conical coil heat exchanger with various fluid flow rates and curvature ratio is presented in this paper. Six coils of different geometry and curvature ratio (0.064&0.054) were fabricated. Out of Six, three coils were manufactured by simple circular tube having outside diameter 9.5 mm and inside diameter 8 mm. Remaining three coils were manufactured with same dimensions only addition of notches (inverted fins). The experimentation is carried out for hot and cold water having hot water flow rate 15 Lph, 20 Lph, 25 Lph by keeping cold water flow rate 15 Lph throughout the reading. Temperature Difference was recorded for different mass flow rate across the heat exchanger. The comparative analysis shows that, Nusselt number increases as tube side flow rate increases. It is also reported that Nu Number increases by 5% in coil with notches because notches creates obstacle to fluid flow it creates more turbulence in the flow. Effectiveness of heat exchanger decreases with increase in dean number inside tube in all type of coils. The convective heat transfer coefficient is higher for helical coil than conical and spiral coil. Helical coil with notches having higher curvature ratio is more effective coil than conica coill.

Every vehicle equipped with internal combustion engine and every Internal Combustion engine has connecting rod. The main idea of this study is to analyze the connecting rod and explore weight reduction opportunities of connecting rod by examining connecting rod with two new materials, glass fiber and carbon fiber. In this study CI engine connecting rod is selected for analysis. Therefore this study deals with two subjects first static stress analysis of existing connecting rod and second optimization of rod for weight reduction by experimenting it with two new materials. In this study after knowing dimensions of connecting rod appropriate 3D model is prepared using CATIA, the model is imported in ANSYS software. Static analysis is done by fixing small end force is applied at big end, and by fixing big end force is applied at small end. Static stress analysis is carried out for compressive as well as tensile loading. And von-misses stresses and deformations were found in existing connecting rod for given loading conditions. The same work was done for same design and same loading conditions for two selected new materials. After optimization with new materials it is observed that Stress induced in composite materials was reduced. And weight of connecting rod also reduced

The attempt was made in this Experimentation on the Jet impingement cooling on Square Copper plate. Jet impingement is very rapid effective convective heat enhancement technique is used in various thermal applications. In this experimentation, optimizing the parameters like the velocity of the jet 3 LPM, 5 LPM, 8 LPM, nozzle diameters is 6 mm and 8 mm and main parameter is distance between jet to target positioning selected 10 cm (h/d) with water as a coolant. Experimental data is analyzed as per requirement. The results obtained by experimentation for different input conditions are authenticated by using CFD simulation. This study shows that with decreasing temperature of heated copper square plate increases in Reynolds number. At the same time average Nusselt number is increases as the flow rate increases & heat transfer coefficient is also increases for 6 & 8 mm nozzle diameter. Form this analysis, obtained optimum cooling range with 6 & 8 mm nozzle diameters when distance between jet to target space is 10 cm with various flow rates. The results shows maximum average Nusselt no. and maximum Reynold no. is at 6 mm nozzle diameter as compared to 8 mm nozzle diameter. There is good consequences covenant in between CFD simulation and investigation.

A number of irreversible processes in the engine limit its capability to achieve a highly balanced efficiency. These rapid successions of events happening in the cylinder create expanding exhaust gases with pressures that exceed the atmospheric level, and they must be released while the gases are still expanding to prepare the cylinder for the following processes. By doing so, the heated gases produced from the combustion process can be easily channelled through the exhaust valve and manifold. The large amount of energy from the stream of exhausted gases could potentially be used for waste heat energy recovery to generate power. Various methods to harness the waste heat to produce power effectively had ended up in vain. This paper proposes and implements a thermoelectric waste heat energy recovery system for internal combustion engine automobiles, including gasoline vehicles. The key is to directly convert the surface heat energy from automotive waste heat to electrical energy using a thermoelectric generator (TEG). The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system can work well under different working conditions, and is promising for automotive industry.

Considerable amount of polymer waste is being generated during filtration stage in manufacturing process of recycled rigid PVC pipes. Locally this waste is called as Jaali Gola. It contains stone and metal particles along with major portion of crude, non-recyclable polymer waste. This waste is great environmental nuisance. The present work has attempted to investigate the feasibility of this polymer waste to be used as aggregates in road work applications. The pipe industry polymer wastes are cut in a cutting machine and particles like natural coarse aggregate are obtained. These particles are called Waste Polymer Aggregates (WPA). These are subjected to different tests recommended by IS codes and the test result indicates that WPA are suitable to be used in bituminous road as a substitute to traditional coarse aggregates. Efforts are also taken to calculate cost of materials per kilometre length of a bituminous road of 3.7 metre width, considering WPA as coarse aggregates for road construction. Calculations show that, total cost of materials in case of waste polymer aggregate road is considerably less than that for a usual stone aggregate road. Further, WPA are also tried with bitumen, as a mix, in an experimental work of repairing of pot holes of an existing bituminous road pavement. The repaired road was under observation for a period of more than one year. It is found that WPA-Bitumen mix is intact in the pot holes and no considerable damage has occurred to it due to traffic. Since WPA-Bitumen mix is performing well in the repaired pot holes, WPA can further be used on large scale in construction of bituminous road pavement. Thus, the outcome of the entire work shows a way to solve the problem of disposal of pipe industry polymer waste in an eco-friendly manner. There will be added advantage of its use since the natural aggregates are getting scarce day by day. Their over exploitation is not only creating environmental nuisance but is also creating socio-economic and political conflicts. The present work thus attempts to solve a twofold problem with single stroke.

From the review, India was developing country but still used the old conservancy system at various places, particularly in villages and towns for the treatment of the waste water generated. Although the anaerobic treatment of waste water had been implemented since the beginning of the century, yet conventionally, the anaerobic process was well-thought-out to be a slow process, requires the digesters of large hydraulic retention time (HRT). However, the high rate anaerobic system had been devised and constructed to treat concentrated municipal waste water. The various high rate anaerobic systems had been devised including Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) reactor. The objective of this paper was to design a UASB reactor for the campus of Government College of Engineering, Jalgaon (GCOEJ) Maharashtra, India. The increase in the sludge retention time (SRT) minimises the sludge production but this however, tend to increase the reactor volume. On the contrary, minimum HRT minimises the reactor volume. Hence, during the design, a proper balancing between these two components was taken into account along with establishing the intimate contact between the incoming waste water and the detailed biological solids in the reactor and maintenance of sufficiently warm temperatures. The UASB model showed promising results in removal of BOD, heavy metals, pH, turbidity and decrease in microbe content. After characterization of these properties, proper treatment plant was designed and dimension calculated. Diameter of collection pit was calculated to be 6 m and depth to be 5 m. A UASB reactor of diameter 5.5 m and height 5 m was designed such that the amount of methane produced at the end would be 343.852 m3/d with the daily addition of alkalinity in the form of Sodium bicarbonate of 494.032 kg/d would require to maintain the pH in the reactor.

Runoff due to storm event was often the major subject of study. All abstractions from precipitation like evaporation, evapotranspiration, interception, infiltration, surface detention and storage were considered as losses in the production of runoff. Depending upon the catchment characteristics and factors affecting it, several empirical formulae had been suggested from time to time for estimating these parameters. But the parameters calibrated manually using the data obtained from the field into the empirical relations were found to be time consuming, tedious and demand experience. Obtaining the data from the field and analysing the same in the laboratory delayed the work. Hence, the general idea was to standardize the above parameters in a single program using software programming methodologies. The program using this approach was able to estimate the values of the parameters involved in the rainfall-runoff process. The purpose of this paper was to develop computer-based programming for estimating the precipitation in the given catchment along with the abstractions of the precipitation in the same catchment. The approach was to assemble fundamental equations and empirical relations of rainfall-runoff process for estimating the values into one program. The program had considered all those parameters affecting the catchment hydrology. It was going to be a productive methodology for site engineers as instead of collecting data from the field and analysing it in the laboratory, the same can be achieved on the field itself if this program would be brought in practice. The overall idea of the paper was to avoid manual calculation, instead to provide a computer-based program in order to simplify the conception of basic hydrological events in the given catchment. The future scope of this paper would be to transmute this software programming methodology into an android application for improved use of this contemporary program

The present research consists of design conceptions of Integrated Treatment Plant (ITP) and its applications from Civil Engineering point of view. ITP was an innovative concept for Irrigation Department which was yet to be established/recognised in Water Resource Engineering. As per the land consumption, the construction of Water Treatment Plant (WTP) for large scale supply demands huge sum of space/land and capital and if Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) would be existing will supplement into it. The present consequence alarms the unavailability/scarcity of land with limited investment and this instigated to introduce a newfangled concept of ITP whose generalised objective was to serve the principle of both WTP and WWTP with respect to economy and improved efficiency to promote water and waste water management. The design of the ITP was based on the case study of the village Harkhi Pipra, Bihar, India. The objective was to place several units of ITP along the bank of river Ganga in order to prevent the direct disposal of the wastes in to the river. As the concerned village, did not had such units for treatment of the water and wastewater, in order to overcome this challenge, the ITP was designed as a preliminary solution for cleaning Ganga.

From the research, it was studied that one of the saturated formation of the earth material which not only stores water but yield it in sufficient quantity was an aquifer. Wells forms the most important mode of groundwater extraction from an aquifer. Open wells were extensively used for drinking-water supply in rural communities and in small farming operations. Well-hydraulics in confined and unconfined flow for steady and unsteady state of groundwater aims at the determination of discharge and permeability of the aquifer by using field parameters. Field data represented the point measurement whereas hydrological model dealt at catchment or sub-catchment level. The purpose of this paper was to develop computer-based conceptual groundwater software model for well-hydraulics, a computer-based programming. The approach was to assemble fundamental equations of well-hydraulics like estimating discharge, recuperation of groundwater, well loss, well efficiency and specific capacity of the well into one program that would take into account all those parameters affecting the groundwater hydrology and can simply execute the output. This was going to be a productive methodology for site engineers as instead of collecting data from the field and Analysing it in the office, the same can be achieved on the field itself if this program was brought in practice. Factors affecting the well represented the parameters. The mathematical interdependencies between these parameters would be used to develop a groundwater software model representing hydraulics of well. Model can be calibrated using field data. Model validation would be based on the comparison of the output of the model from the program with the observed data provided by the standard specification. The overall idea of the paper was to avoid manual calibration and calculation, instead to provide a computer-based program in order to simplify the conception of well-hydraulics. The future scope of this paper was to transmute this software model into an android application for improved use of this contemporary model.

In the research, the plastic was considered a non-biodegradable product engendered everyday throughout the world for diverse tenacities in different application. Production of plastic waste around the world was a leading risk which society was facing. Therefore, to diminish the quantity of plastic, there was a prerequisite to upsurge the supply of the material that entered various product streams or to find the economical usage of the plastic wastes. Concrete used significouldt quantities of aggregate comprising of natural sand and gravels. Some percentage of alternation in any of the component of the concrete may gave a pathway for improved performance of the concrete. Hence, this research was based on this attitude for the determination of an unexpected result of this trial. The objective was to determine the results for the partial replacement of natural sand with plastic (High-Density polyethylene). The experimental investigation was carried out for the replacement of the different percentage of the sand with High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). The concrete with 15 % plastic sand concrete showed 18.77% more compressive strength than normal concrete at 7 days. The concrete with 20 % plastic sand showed 1.54% less compressive strength than normal concrete at 7 days. The concrete with 15 % plastic sand showed 20.64 % more than concrete with 20 % plastic sand at 7 days. The 15 % use of plastic sand showed encouraging improvement in compressive strength of concrete. However, detail investigation along with durability test would make this concrete as environmental friendly product

In any construction activity, quality and quantity aspect are the two-basic thing intricate that lead to form or direct the estimate of the work. The estimate is a means for planning and controlling the construction commotion of any project with respect to quality, time and finance. Estimate is consequently the prediction of its probable cost. One of the most important duties of the engineer or an architect is to formulate or forecast the possible cost of the anticipated building. The problem of preparing estimates has become somewhat multifaceted because of various factors and at the same time it has been abridged by contemporary and advance techniques. With this, engineer can store the obligatory information in his well-equipped computer section and make the progression of estimating not only simple but also quicker. The purpose of this work is to develop a newfangled android application of a cost and quantity calculator using detailed estimation of the proposed building which is capable of calculating the estimated cost as well as estimated quantity involved in the construction activity using computer based programming. The idea is to assemble basic construction activity like excavation, concrete, brickwork, steelwork, plastering, distempering etc. and transmute them into an android application in order to determine the actual cost per unit of item; quantity of the item brought in use; and to examine the item for economic processes and economic uses of the materials involved in making the item. The application is going to present a vibrant picture of the process of cost and quantity analysis and various forces acting behind the performance of an item. At the same time, it is going to eliminate the manual calculations involved in the estimation of the shop of commercial building. The project is based on theoretical aspect of the detailed estimation of cost and quantity that are involved in construction or of an item. It will serves as a convenient guide to arrive at a judicious cost and quantity involved in the construction.

Fluoride and fluorosis issues are common in a few nations including India. Fluorosis is pandemic in more than 20 states of India. The fluoride comes into ground water by various ways, for example, weathering of rocks, industrial effluents and geochemical reactions. Fluoride in overabundance amount higher than 1.5 mg/l causes dental and skeletal fluorosis other than infertility, kidney harm and affects nervous systems as well. The fluoride removal from drinking water and wastewater has been successful by different techniques, for example, coagulation and precipitation, adsorption, ion-exchange, membrane separation, dialysis, electro-dialysis, electrocoagulation and so on. Adsorption process for defluoridation has favoured for the most part in developing countries as it is techno-economical viable method, environmental friendly and straightforwardness in operation. The present study examines the use of iron (Fe3+) and magnesium (Mg2+) calcinated layered double hydroxide (LDH) coated on silica surface as adsorbent for removal of Fluoride from drinking water. Present work shows that the Fe and Mg compounds can be effectively coated on silica gel to synthesize a granular adsorbent which, can be effectively used for removal of many anions from aqueous phase. Low cost of the chemical, easy synthesis and high recovery of fluoride ions are additional advantages of this method.

Water is one of the most vital elements involved in the creation and development of healthy life. Since water is such a important resource for survival of both plants and animals, it is our responsibility to manage this resource, not only as a social, industrial and commercial good but also for the sustainable benefit of all living matter. Increasing pressure to get more stringent discharge standards or not being allowed to discharge treated effluent has led to Implementation of a variety of advanced biological treatment processes in recent years. Current and future fresh water demand could be met by enhancing water use efficiency and demand management. Thus, wastewater is emerging as potential source for demand management after essential treatment. Biological treatment is an good and important part of any wastewater treatment plant that treats wastewater from either municipality or industry having soluble organic impurities or a mix of the two types of wastewater sources. The main advantage of attached growth systems is that they maintain a high concentration of microorganisms resulting in high removal rates at relatively small hydraulic retention times. The basic design and operational characteristics of various systems are presented in terms of packing materials, organic loading rates, treatment temperature, as well as achieved removal rates. Filtration technology is a low cost treatment technology based on physical process to treat wastewater by removing contaminant like COD, BOD, turbidity and suspended solids for a wide range of applications in domestic as well as industrial applications. Research on alternate filtration media, has expanded the options available for improving effluent quality.

Pollutants in drinking water above permissible level may prove to be hazardous to human health. The present study was carried out to assess the ability of electrocoagulation with Iron and Aluminium electrodes for water treatment process. Electrocoagulation presents a robust novel and innovative alternative in which a sacrificial metal anode doses water electrochemically. This has the major advantage of providing active cations required for coagulation, without increasing the salinity of the water Electrocoagulation is a complex process with a multitude of mechanisms operating synergistically to remove pollutants from the water. A wide variety of opinions exist in the literature for key mechanisms and reactor configurations. A lack of a systematic approach has resulted in a myriad of designs for electrocoagulation reactors without due consideration of the complexity of the system. A systematic, holistic approach is required to understand electrocoagulation and its controlling parameters. In this project, electrocoagulation with Iron and Aluminium electrodes will be carried out and a comparative study will be investigated. Several key parameters affecting the efficiency of electrocoagulation will be investigated with laboratory scale experiments in search of optional parameter values. Optimal values of parameters will be determined on the basis of the efficiency of hardness removal from ultrafine suspensions. Various parameters that would be studied are pH, chlorine content, alkalinity and Voltage. Parameters affecting electrocoagulation process, such as initial pH, applied voltage, COD and time of electrocoagulation process would be investigated

Solid Waste Management (SWM) is a Polite term for Garbage management. As human being is living in groups in communities lot of waste is generated and hence Solid Waste Management has become a global issue. Solid waste can be defined as non-liquid waste material that is of no use to human beings. It is generated by domestic Households, Commercial, Industrial, Medical and Institutional activities. Solid waste is one of the major reasons of environmental degradation in India. Improper management of solid waste causes hazards to people. There are many techniques for Solid Waste Management. The traditional techniques are used in India from a long time, but these techniques are now not so efficient and also cause environmental degradation. This is because of increase in population and change in type of solid waste generation. Many new techniques are introduced for SWM; these techniques are comparatively more effective and have less harmful effects on environment. The Khamgaon city also suffers a problem of solid waste, thus total waste generated in Khamgaon city is going on increasing day by day so it is essential to dispose of municipal waste in planned, economical and safe manner. Present work on SWM for Khamgaon city has been reviewed and efforts have been made to provide comprehensive review on SWM. After analysing the entire functional element related to SWM various conclusion has been drawn along with recommendations to improve the existing SWM.
