 Abstract

Adolescence is the period from the beginning of sexual maturity(puberty) to the completion of physical growth. A period of transition from childhood to adulthood. (Sharma 1996). The World Health Organization has defined "adolescents" as persons in the 10 to 19 year age group. (Chaturvediet.al.,2008) Today India has the largest population ofadolescentsintheworldconstituted20percentoftheworld's1.2billionadolescents.(HeraldDeccan, February 26, 2011) India is being home to 243 million adolescent individuals over 1081 million of the total population. This is the generation which will shape India's future. One of the most important commitments a country can make for its future economic, social, and political progress andstabilityistoaddressthehealthanddevelopment-relatedneedsofitsadolescents. Despite the multitude of factors which can influence the development of adolescents, their mental well-being is crucial. Adolescents must learn how tocopewithpsychologicalstress, handlepeerpressure, dealwiththeiremotions, resolve conflicts, build bridges with friends and family, develop self-confidence, safeguard themselves from high pressure as well as cope with other stresses like academic competition. Considering the large number of adolescents in our country, the study thus evokes an urgent need to stimulate an action to identify those at risk andthosewhoneedtreatmentamongtheadolescentstudentpopulace.Theevidence in literature from cross-cultural studies both supports and challenges the hypothesis that adolescence is a difficult period in development. Aim To study the prevalence and nature of psychological disturbances in adolescents and there by creating awareness about the nature of mental health and hygiene & To motivate adolescents to seek early help when in difficulties and also to understand the corresponding homoeopathic remedies in various psychological disturbances.

 Abstract

Background: Mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus makes a significant contribution to chronic hepatitis B virus infection. One strategy to prevent hepatitis B transmission from mother to child is by administering hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIg) and hepatitis B vaccination. Methods: This meta-analysis used secondary data from articles taken from 2000 to 2020 through the PubMed database, Google Scholar. There were 5 articles for antiHbs and 4 articles for HBsAg that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Analysis using the Revman Review Manager 5.4. Results: The comparison of the proportion and confidence interval on HBsAg and anti-HBs status after hepatitis B vaccination in infants of HBsAg positive mothers showed that anti-HBs results with a combined effect magnitude of 0.89 (95% CI 0.83; 0.94), p < 0.05 while HBsAg status with a combined effect of 0.09 (95% CI 0.03; 0.015), p < 0.05. Conclusion: The successful proportion of hepatitis B vaccination with HbIg is 89% and HbsAg positive status in infants is 9%.

 Abstract

The aim of this paper is to develop an emotions monitoring system. That can be used by a person to track his or her mental state. It can be used for improving the mental health of a person. People will be able to identify what is causing them stress, and they will be able to find solutions to relieve it using this system. This device monitors the emotions of a person based on the electrical conductivity of the skin. This device measures the pulse rate and Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) value and determines the emotion of the person. When there is an emotional arousal then the electrical conductivity of the body changes because of the sweat. The electrical conductivity can increase or decrease based on the kind of activity. Changes can be seen in the pulse value of the body also simultaneously. The Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) and Pulse Rate Sensor readings are processed by the Arduino Uno. The GSM module is coupled to an Arduino, which sends a notice to the person's registered mobile phone about his or her mental health. It can be used by doctors to observe the patients undergoing surgeries etc. It can also be used as a personal care device.

 Abstract

Education loans form a part of the priority sector advances of the Public Sector Banks (PSB) and most of the educational loans are taken for pursuing higher education courses. In the knowledge era, higher education has gained significance all across the world. Like other developing nations, India also faced financial crunch in the early nineties and higher education suffered in terms of allocations. And in the pursuit of raising access ratio in higher education, private institutions entered the field and there has been steep rise in user charges in most-sought-after professional courses like engineering and management in India in the post-reforms period. In the light of the facts that scholarships going to higher education have declined, in real terms, and it is a vehicle of upward mobility, the education loan scheme comes in to focus in order to raise access ratio in higher education. In 2001 the Indian Banks Association has come up with a model frame work for educational loans in the country. With the approval of the Central Government the public sector banks in India started to give education loans. The private and cooperative banks also joined the fray. Due to growing NPAs and the intervention of the Government these norms were modified in 2011. The budget allocation for the primary and higher secondary education is on the increase in India. However, higher education has been of late relegated or left to the mercy of the private players. There has been a steady growth of educational loans disbursed, private colleges and deemed universities started and enrolments of students in higher education during the years 2001 to 2011.

Abstract: Rapid Internationalization and Globalization has enhanced the significance of workforce diversity. According to Clemons (2006), workforce diversity is creating and managing an environment which enables anyone from anywhere to do their best, regardless of their differences and similarities. Today organisation not only by simply better understanding the demographic of the marketplace that they serve, diversity in the workplace allows them to secure a competitive edge. As markets become increasingly global, it enables organisation to discover untapped opportunities in new customers and products or services. Diversity in the workplace gives HR professionals an opportunity to ensure a head start on identifying new trends by having a workforce which is representative of its customers and it acts as a key motivating factor for employee, reducing absenteeism and maximizing productivity levels by creating an inclusive environment that values diversity. This paper highlights on the importance of workforce diversity as well as opportunity and challenges human resource professionals experience in managing diversity. It further highlights that effective diversity management can be achieved through using appropriate practices like Promote Dialogue, Build Resilience Skills, Addressing Diversity in Every Phase of Talent Management, Create Ways for Like People to Connect, Make Diversity a Part of Brand Image as these practices will be vital in overcoming individual and group process problems while improving the triple bottom line. Thus, Diversity management has a place in human resource management and should be at the heart of human resource practices which will help the organization set and achieve reachable diversity goals.

 Abstract

This article evaluates the impact of employing irrigation on crop productivity using a dataset of over 500 farm households in Tigray Region, Ethiopia. Endogenous switching regression treatment effects approach is adopted in the study to reduce selection bias stemming from both observed and unobserved characteristics. It is found that irrigation increases crop productivity. This study supports the need for vital investments in irrigation schemes development, and efforts to improve access to modern irrigation. Over and above, development policies for agricultural transformation in the region would need to extensively encourage farmers to employ irrigation in all crop-producing areas of the region suitable for irrigation, and it should be accompanied by increasing availability of affordable irrigation schemes for the smallholder farmers to enhance their livelihood.
