 Abstract

The status of women has been the central concern of many reform movements before and after independence. First, women were stereotyped as servile and submissive beings wholly incapable of having an individual identity, independent existence and autonomy. Second, males in the Indian society had understood that religion was a very important tool that had enabled them to keep their women's social and economic position intact, thereby limiting chances of a potential challenge to male superiority. Third, the male patriarchs had realised that making education inaccessible and unavailable to the Indian women was the best way to prevent an awakening among the women folk, thereby continuing with male dominance in the society. As such, the dominating Indian male would never let the balance of power tilt in favour of the women folk. To that extent, they vociferously resisted the blooming of the seeds of social transformation in the Indian society.

 Abstract

This is a prospective study carried out in the General Medicine Ward for a period of 12 months. The medication adherence of all the adult patients (>=18 years of age) of both gender needed to be assessed is included in the study. Vulnerable subjects were excluded from the study. Out of 100 patients, the distribution of males and females were found to be 66% and 34% respectively. This study shows that 77% were adherent to their medications and 23% were not. 72% has shown to have improved in their overall QOL and 28% of the patients showed no improvement in their overall QOL, out of which most were, geriatric patients due to multiple co morbidities, physiological changes and poly-pharmacy. The study findings revealed that geriatrics were more prone to develop T2DM with HTN. It is found that low socio economic status is one of the main reasons for non-medication adherence. This shows that the medication adherence have direct influence on patient's quality of life. So, increased medication adherence improves the overall QOL.

 Abstract

Large intestine cancer was occasionally identified a few decades back. It is currently the fourth most dangerous cancer in the globe, causing almost yearly deaths. Negative risk factors like avoirdupois, inactivity, and smoking, in addition to an ageing population and the dietary practices of high-income nations, raise the risk of large intestine cancer. A brief discussion of the genetic and environmental risk factors for large intestine cancer is provided in this critique. Familial, hereditary, lifestyle-related, and environmental variables are all recognized risk factors for large intestine cancer. Factors are significant because they have the potential to advance our knowledge of the disease. The survival rate is currently used to forecast a patient's outlook. If a first-degree relative has been identified with large intestine cancer or colonic polyps before the age of sixty, or if two or more first-degree relatives have been diagnosed with cancer or polyps at any age, the patient is considered to have a positive family history. There are numerous methods for examining the large intestine for cancer, including flexible sigmoidoscopy, endoscopy, enema, faeces chemistry analysis, and deoxyribonucleic acid faecal occult testing. The prognosis, survival, and course of therapy for the patient depend on the stage at which the cancer is discovered.

 Abstract

Reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated diseases, characterized by oxidative stress and inflammation, pose significant challenges in the field of medicine. Bilirubin, a natural antioxidant derived from heme breakdown, has shown remarkable potential in scavenging ROS and mitigating their detrimental In recent years, the development of nanomedicines has emerged as a promising approach for targeted drug delivery and enhanced therapeutic efficacy. This review explores the utilization of bilirubin nanomedicines as a novel strategy for the treatment of ROS-mediated diseases. Various biocompatible nanoparticles, including liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, and lipid nanoparticles, have been employed to encapsulate bilirubin, ensuring its stability and improving its pharmacokinetics. Additionally, surface modifications of nanoparticles with ligands enable targeted delivery of bilirubin to specific cells or tissues affected by oxidative stress. Conjugation of bilirubin to nanoparticles further enhances its stability, cellular uptake, and controlled release in response to ROS or other stimuli.

 Abstract

The Internet is universal and pervasive in everyone's lives. For a medium that has fundamentally altered how individuals live their lives, its impact on the individual's psychology has been overlooked. The study helped shed light on the impact of psychosocial intervention on Problematic Internet Usage (PIU) among emerging adults from India and to assess its impact on Psychological Distress (PD) and Quality of Life (QoL). The intervention focused on areas including Systematic Desensitization, Mindfulness, CBT Techniques and aspects of Positive Psychology. Data was collected from a total sample of 168 emerging adults (43.5% male, 51.8% females and 4.8% of the participants preferred not to disclose their gender) through an online survey where Problematic Internet Usage Questionnaire by Demetrovics, Z. et al., Kessler Psychological Distress Scale and Quality of Life scale by B L Dubey et al. were used. Convenient sampling method was used to select participants for the intervention group (N=27). An independent sample t test was carried to understand the gender differences, results indicate the absence of the influence of gender in all three variables. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the relationship between variables. The results denote a significant correlation between PIU and PD and a significant negative correlation between PD and QoL. The results of paired sample t test denote that there's a significant difference in the pre-test and post-test of PIU and QOL. The study contributes to the understanding of how digitization has impacted one's life and mental health and offers suggestions on how to take a different perspective on problematic internet use in the future.

 Abstract

Necrophilia refers to an individual's attraction, whether sexual or asexual, towards deceased individuals. It is important to note that this behaviour is not considered a typical or conventional habit but rather classified as a paraphilic disorder. Drawing upon historical evidence and contextual inquiries, it may be argued that the presence of clutter is not only detrimental to the individual but also has negative implications for society as a whole. This phenomenon can portray an individual's heightened emotional arousal and captivation in dreams or actual instances of engaging in sexual activities with deceased people. The necrophile may derive pleasure from engaging in various activities with a deceased body, such as oral-genital contact, penile-vaginal intercourse, anal intercourse, or self-stimulation in the presence of a corpse. Psychological therapy, medications that decrease sex drive, and interventions aimed at enhancing social and sexual relationships can be beneficial in managing individuals with necrophilia. Necrophilia, also known as engaging in sexual activity with deceased individuals, is a behaviour that lacks comprehensive understanding within academic discourse. The phenomenon has also been observed in non-human organisms. The research conducted by multiple scholars and the analysis of past instances provide insights into the evolving perspectives of individuals with necrophiliac tendencies influenced by social, economic, and other contextual circumstances. However, the lack of a definitive resolution can be attributed to the absence of consensus across medical science and law fields. This article seeks to address the inquiry as to why there is a lack of stringent regulations pertaining to the aforementioned subject matter. This study aims to provide empirical insights into the phenomenon of necrophilia by examining its many typologies and etiopathology. Periodically, it becomes necessary to make modifications and draft new provisions. However, a lack of sufficient understanding and negligence towards this matter can lead to significant future consequences. As a result, the author has conducted a comprehensive examination of many elements and comparative legislations across different countries, employing a mixed-method approach. The author has employed quantitative techniques to provide potential remedies for enhancing the legal framework pertaining to necrophilia.

 Abstract

This theoretical framework aims to investigate the impact of parental communication styles on the development of resilience and academic motivation among adolescents residing in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Adolescence is a critical phase of life marked by various challenges, including academic pressures and social changes. During this period, effective parental communication can significantly influence an adolescent's ability to navigate these challenges successfully. The study will examine various communication styles employed by parents in Madhya Pradesh, considering cultural nuances and regional influences, and their potential consequences for adolescent resilience and academic motivation. The proposed framework integrates existing research on parenting styles and adolescent development, tailoring it to the specific context of Madhya Pradesh. Within this framework, key components will be explored, including authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful communication styles, as well as their variations influenced by cultural, socioeconomic, and educational factors. By analyzing the interactions between parents and adolescents in Madhya Pradesh, this study aims to discern how each communication style affects the resilience and academic motivation of adolescents. Theoretical perspectives, such as attachment theory, self-determination theory, and social cognitive theory, will be applied to provide a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms through which parental communication styles impact adolescent development. This framework will also consider the potential mediating and moderating variables, such as gender, socioeconomic status, and parental education, to offer a nuanced view of the Madhya Pradesh context. The findings of this research will contribute to both theoretical and practical knowledge. Theoretically, it will enhance our understanding of the role of parental communication styles in shaping adolescents' resilience and academic motivation, with a specific focus on the cultural and regional context of Madhya Pradesh. Practically, the results will inform the development of targeted interventions and educational programs to promote positive communication styles among parents, fostering the resilience and academic motivation of adolescents in Madhya Pradesh and potentially serving as a model for similar regions. Ultimately, this theoretical framework seeks to shed light on the vital interplay between parenting practices and adolescent development within a specific cultural and geographical context.

 Abstract

This study evaluates the Indian implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) in Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu. It assesses the socio-economic context, perceptions, and PMMY of the beneficiaries, as well as the efficiency of banks in lending. Using a sample of 120 respondents and a descriptive study design, the study takes into account factors such as the number of loans granted and the bank's resources to assess performance. He points out that the big banks may have an advantage. However, there is a risk of respondent bias and limited generalizability. Overall, the study provides information to improve PMMY's support for micro and small businesses in the region.

 Abstract

The adoption of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and the deployment of 5G technology have led to significant advancements in industrial processes and automation. However, this proliferation of interconnected devices within the context of 5G-enabled IIoT networks has also exposed industrial systems to a heightened risk of cyberattacks. Securing IIoT networks in the era of 5G has thus become a paramount concern for ensuring the integrity, availability, and safety of critical industrial systems. This paper presents a comprehensive exploration of machine learning approaches for detecting and mitigating network attacks in the context of the 5G-enabled IIoT. IIoT deals with large scale networks and known as use of internet of things for industrial applications. In manufacturing the networked devices, interconnected sensors and computer systems used are together refereed as Industrial IoT. Maintaining data privacy and securing the IIoT network is also a great challenge. Using various Artificial Intelligence algorithms, it is possible to provide the security to the IIoT network and data against the possible attacks on the IIoT network. This paper provides the systematic survey of possible attacks on industrial IoT network, applied ML technique for detection of attacks along with the suitable platform used.
