 Abstract

In the field of dental healthcare, combating microbial pathogens remains a critical challenge. This study delves into the potential of utilizing environmentally friendly synthesized nanoparticles as a means to address this issue. The primary focus is on assessing the antimicrobial efficacy of nanoparticles created through a green synthesis approach, targeting dental pathogens. Concurrently, the research endeavors to develop an innovative dental formulation that incorporates these nanoparticles. The methodology involves the synthesis of nanoparticles using biocompatible and sustainable materials, emphasizing a green approach that aligns with current environmental concerns. The synthesized nanoparticles are characterized using various analytical techniques to determine their physicochemical properties, such as size, morphology, and composition.Subsequently, the antimicrobial potential of these nanoparticles is evaluated against a panel of dental pathogens, including bacteria known for their involvement in oral health complications. The assessment encompasses both qualitative and quantitative analyses of the nanoparticles' inhibitory effects on microbial growth and biofilm formation. Moreover, the study extends its investigation to the development of a novel dental formulation enriched with the synthesized nanoparticles. The formulation aims to leverage the antimicrobial properties of nanoparticles while ensuring their compatibility with dental applications. Physicochemical characterization of the formulated product is performed, along with an assessment of its antimicrobial activity. The outcomes of this research have the potential to contribute significantly to dental healthcare. The utilization of green synthesized nanoparticles as effective antimicrobial agents could lead to innovative strategies for combating dental pathogens and associated diseases. Furthermore, the development of a nanoparticle-infused dental formulation introduces a promising avenue for enhancing preventive and therapeutic dental treatments.

 Abstract

A truly representative democracy seeks adequate representation of women in politics. Though representative governments have increased across the world in the last few decades, the participation of women has remained low. According to UN Women, as of September 2022, there were 30 women serving as elected heads of state and/or of government in 28 countries (out of a total of 193 UN member states). This is despite concerted multi-prolonged efforts in recent times to promote women's empowerment and improve gender equality. Legislative representation is fundamental to political empowerment, enabling participation in the law-making process. Legislatures play a vital role in raising debates and discussions on various aspects of governance and in exacting accountability from the government. Women's representation in the national parliament is a key indicator of the extent of gender equality in parliamentary politics. India is the largest and one of the most resilient parliamentary democracies in the world with a female population of 662.9 million. This makes India an important case study of parliamentary representation of women. This paper looks at how women's representation in India's Parliament has improved since independence, if at all.

 Abstract

Concrete is a composite material composed mainly of water, aggregate, and cement. Additives and reinforcements used to change and improve the physical properties of the material and including mixture. They form a fluid mass that is easily moulded into shape when these ingredients are mixed. With time, the cement binds with the rest of the ingredients into a durable stone-like material in many forms, thereby forming a hard matrix. Production of good quality concrete requires meticulous care exercised at every stage of the manufacture of concrete. The proposed study was intended to identify the mechanical properties of concrete, which replaced with crumb rubber as fine aggregate named Crumb Rubber Aggregate Concrete (CRAC). The Rubberized Concrete was prepared by adding the following materials, such as cement; fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, Crumb Rubber aggregate, and portable water. Present paper is also one among such intention to develop a supplementary use of natural aggregates with abundantly available rubber wastes.

 Abstract

Owning a house is a dream that every person has. The government doing efforts to ensure Indians have access to affordable houses. Affordable housing for all people is one of the important challenges. India is currently facing a big shortage of houses. The dream of ownership of a house particularly for the low-income group and middle-income groups has become a difficult reality. The provision of affordable Housing is a basic human need. The growing population coupled with the lack of adequate housing has necessitated the need for a strategy by the Government, architects, and designers with private developers to proffer solutions that will initiate cost-effective, innovative, and environment-friendly housing technologies for the construction of houses to enable the common people to own houses at affordable cost. This study aims to propose adaptable design strategies in the provision of affordable housing in India. To achieve that, the following objectives were pursued: to propose strategies for land-use efficiency, to recommend guidelines for flexibility in design, and to incorporate end users' opinions in the design of housing schemes. The study adopted the qualitative research method through the review of existing case studies. Among the recommendations made was proposing guidelines on the adaptable design that will aid architects and designers in the design of affordable mass housing schemes.

 Abstract

The collective memory of a community that experienced horrendous, traumatic events can be preserved and transmitted through variegated retrospective media for the knowledge of posterity. Such traumatic incidents are crystallized in historical artefacts, images, stories and monuments. The post- Holocaust era has witnessed the boom of collective tales recited by victims and survivors which constituted the understanding of history for generations who were not part of these traumatic events. This paper aims to trace the idea of postmemory encapsulating the repercussions of significant experiences beyond the first generation. The study observes a 'belatedness' in the narratives that evoke a parental past. This paper articulated analytically Cynthia Ozick's Holocaust memory narrative 'The Shawl' as a source of postmemory of trauma to posterity. It studied the transformative potential of the narrative to constitute a historical repertoire for a generation that is not part of the victimhood. In addition, the paper also commented on the construction of cultural trauma and hence, the identity of descendants through such fictional mnemonic tales. The analysis proved that an account of a direful incident or experience of the past performs the role of an agent of postmemory. It crystallized a traumatic memory, shared among a community, for future generations to feel a sense of belonging and identity. The study highlights the scope of binding posterity to a common past through literary media. Thus, it transcends to be an archive or historical document worthy of future reference.

 Abstract

The Oraon is the largest populated tribal group (as per 1991 census) of the Chotnagpur plateau in Jharkhand (earlier in Bihar) state of India. These tribal people are mainly concentrated in rural areas of Ranchi, Gumla, Simdega, Lohardaga, Hazaribagh and Palamu districts of the state and they have been living with other tribal and another community people since long past. However with the passage of time, they have migrated to different parts of the country during pre and post Independent era in search of their livelihood (as manual labour). They have their own language called Kurukh which belongs to the Dravidian linguistic family (Grierson 1927). The people like to follow their traditional life and culture which is reflected in their material culture namely house type, household utensils, furniture, dress, ornaments, tattoo marks, agricultural, hunting and fishing implements, musical instruments, food and drinks etc.; economic organization i.e. division of labour on the basis of age and gender, method of paddy cultivation, strong social organization, socialization process, political and religious organization, customary laws, practices, rituals etc. They have passed through gathering stage and later on developed the settled agricultural economy. The society is patriarchal, patrilineal with equality in male and female participation. It is an open society to consider men women to be equal, there is no disparity with girls and boys. Along with that more flexibility is found in their blood and life for the progress and scientific temperament. They follow the age-old culture, tradition, customs and value system in their life. The people have totemic clans or gotra, which are named after birds, animals, fishes, plants, vegetables, objects and minerals; such as Addo (ox), Aind (a fish), Alla (dog), Bakula (Heron), Bando (wild cat), Bara (Banyan), Barwa (wild dog), Beck (Salt), Chidra (Squirrel), Edgo (Mouse), Ekka or kachhap (Turtle), Gari (monkey), Gede (Duck), Gidhi (vulture), Halman (langur), Keond (a fruit), Khoya (wild dog), Kinduar (a fish), Kosuar (a fish), Kiro (a fruit), Kiss (pig), Kerketta (Hedge- sparrow), Kokro (cock), Kujur ( A medicinal plant), Lakra (Tiger), Minz (a fish), Khetta or Nag (Cobra), Panna (Iron), Tido (a fish), Tirkuar (tithio bird), Tirkey (an eagle), Toppo (Woodpecker), Tigga (Monkey), Xalxo (pigeon), Xaxa (Crow), Xess or Dhan (Paddy).

 Abstract

In the 21st century everyone deserves to live with dignity regardless of their religious, caste or gender freedom. The rights of transgender people in the country are protected by international and national apparatus. According to the studies, transgender people do not have any say in the policies and programmes that the government of the country develops. These people have struggled are not only in the present, but also in the past and throughout the country's socio economic culture. Despite the Indian constitution goal of equality for everybody at all levels these people have always being excluded from society for some fashion. Abuse, assault, sexual harassment and other forms of harassments are all fairly widespread.

 Abstract

In this research paper, we perform generative structural analysis for various components. Generative Structural Analysis (GAE) enables designers to understand how their designs behave and accurately calculate the displacements and stresses in a component or assembly under various loading conditions. The primary role of structural study and analysis is to determine the internal loading and support responses of a structure subjected to mechanical loading, forced deformations, and settlement of supports. The parameters considered are stress concentration, equivalent stress and total strain and so on. Using various software like Solid works, Catia etc. This project covers the basics of Generative Structural Analysis (GSA). It gives you the knowledge to effectively use finite element structural analysis software to reduce design time. This gives individuals the opportunity to apply their knowledge through real-world scenarios and examples.

 Abstract

Bacillus Subtilis microorganism, which is incorporated in concrete, impacts the eco-friendly self-healing process in the current project. In this technique, bacteria Bacillus Subtilis are mixed in concrete which are having calcium lactate as their food from concrete and when these bacteria get in contact with the atmosphere, they use water, oxygen, and carbon dioxide from the surrounding environment and produce a precipitate of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) (limestone) which seals the cracks and enhances compressive strength of concrete. Here in this paper, we will discuss whether the precipitation is due to bacillus bacteria or other means. There are several types of tests by which we can confirm the origin of precipitation. Here we will discuss the calcium carbonate test, gram staining test, and confirmatory test for CaCO3.

 Abstract

The rainbow is the symbol of pride, signifying not only the SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity), but also telling the stories behind each colour that attaches to the psychological existence of each group within the queer community. When the rubric of masculinity within this queer spectrum is probed, it is noted that bisexual man takes the advantage of power dynamics over the gay men, while the transmen are almost existing in the periphery. But when these two masculinities of gay and bisexual men encounter each other, a sheer colour of power dynamics operates, along with emotional narrative structure of queer performativity. The adaptation of Kundalkar's own novel Cobalt Blue into a film propagates the morphology of queer masculinity and semiotics of colours conglomerating to create an aesthetic exuberance of phenomenological cartography of queer performativity. The story is set up in 1996 Kochi, in Kerala, and is about a paying guest and the Maharashtrian Brahmin family he stays with. Although it convolutes beyond the loci of interactions with the family members, especially with Tanay, who is a young adult and is exploring his own sexuality, it becomes more interesting for the audience that in the entire film no name has been given to this character of paying guest, played by Prateik Babbar. The Dixit family doesn't even probe to find out his background, while the film professed his rebellious characteristics in terms of social norms and normativity, and challenges the characteristics of masculinity. The purposive unnaming of the paying guest almost juxtaposes the alter ego that Tanay, played by Neelay Mehendale, creates amidst the staunch traditional structure of his family. He deciphers his own cocooned liberty amidst a different colour that semblances with the paying guest. The significance of blue in the title of the film depicting not only a masculine symbol but also the psychological depiction of loneliness and freedom attached to queer masculinity will be evaluated in details. This paper will probe into this colour psychology of queer masculinity in the semiotic narratological structure of the film. The narrative frame of the film moves at different levels: one at the physical reality, the other at psychological reality, and the third level is at the metaphysical reality. Kuldalkar's creativity not only deals with this metaphysics of reality but also the phenomenological structure of psychological existence of queer masculinity, that he portrays that with the semiotics of colour. This paper will also discuss the theoretical understanding of adaptation while justifying the psychological mapping of colours with the protagonists in the film. The gap between the novel of 2013 in the neo-liberalised society and the film releasing in 2022 in the post-neo liberalized society deal with the whole paradigmatic shift of psychological frames of the Indian cinematic audience. The politics of releasing the film in Netflix will also be addressed.

 Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension has become a systemic disease with more incidence and prevalence rate among the modern generation. Dietary and lifestyle changes can lower blood pressure and decrease the risk of health complications, although treatment with medication is still often necessary in people for whom lifestyle changes are not enough or not effective. Dietary and lifestyle changes can improve blood pressure control and decrease the risk of health complications, although drug treatment is still often necessary in people for whom lifestyle changes are not enough or not effective. A number of important contributory factors for hypertension have been identified, including overweight/obesity, excessive dietary sodium intake, low physical activity, smoking, and high alcohol intake. Previous studies have shown that being overweight or obese is associated with a higher risk for hypertension. Hypertension, a condition developed as a result of high blood pressure and is strongly correlated with Body Mass Index. Obesity was noted to be a single best predictor of hypertension incidence, and was regarded as a major controllable contributor to hypertension. Overweight and obesity is conveniently determined from Body Mass Index. Research Methodology: The study was conducted among hypertensive patients, for assessing the association between Body Mass Index and Hypertension. At first a rapport was established with the patients and the purpose of the study was explained to them. The sample of 100 was selected by using non- probability convenient sampling technique. On the first day of data collection, the investigator introduced him and explained the nature, purpose of the study to the clients. Verbal and written Consent was obtained to participate in the study and confidentiality of their responses was assured. Hypertensive patients were identified and their blood pressure, height, weight and abdominal girth were collected. Demographic variables and clinical variables were collected using demographic variable proforma and clinical variable proforma. Body Mass Index was calculated according to the universally accepted formula. Result : On analysng data, a strong association between Body Mass Index and Hypertension was found. Regarding socio demographic variables there was association between Age, sex, occupational status and marital status with hypertension. Whereas, no association was there for educational level, residing place, family income and type of family with Hypertension. Regarding Clinical variables, there was association between Type of food and Frequency of meal with hypertension. Whereas no association was found for Co morbid illness and Common cooking methods with Hypertension. Conclusion: The study revealed that there is association between age, sex, occupational status and marital status with hypertension whereas, no association was found for educational level, residing place, family income and type of family with Hypertension. On analyzing data, we can deduce that 42% of the sample were overweight 52% were of normal weight and 6 % were underweight .There is significant association between Systolic blood pressure and Body Mass Index. There is significant association between Diastolic blood pressure and Body Mass Index. Hence the researcher concluded that the is an association between Body Mass Index and Hypertension.

 Abstract

Introduction: Coronary artery disease is the single largest killer of both men and women worldwide. Coronary artery disease (ischemic heart disease) has been defined as "impairment of heart function due to inadequate blood flow to the heart compared to its needs, caused by obstructive changes in the coronary circulation to the heart." There is an estimated 4.5 million patients of coronary artery disease in India. Matrial And Methods: The research design adopted for the study was quasi experimental design. The study was conducted at selected villages at Chhattisgarh. The samples selected were 60 of which 30 samples were allotted in the experimental group and remaining 30 were in the control group. The sample were recognized based on the inclusion criteria and selected by convenient sampling technique. Self-administered questionnaire on knowledge and perception statements based on 3 point likert scale was used as a tool for data collection after confirming validity and reliability. Instructional module was given to the experimental group only. The data obtained were analyzed and interpreted using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The scores of the instructional module were compared within the groups by un paired 't test. The findings revealed the value of knowledge and perception of adults with control group were 1.16 (p<0.001) and 1.56(p<0.001). The obtained "t" test value of knowledge and perception of adults within experimental group was 28.57(p<0.001) and 23.34 (p<0.001). Thus, it infers that the experimental group and a higher score compared to the control group. The scores of the instructional module were compared between the two groups by independent 't' test. The independent 't' test value for comparison of knowledge and perception between control and experimental group was 23.6 (p<0.001) and 23.8 (p=<0.001). This is said to be significant. Conclusion: The study results revealed that, there is significant difference on the instructional module on coronary artery risk factors in control and experimental group. The study concluded that the implementation of instructional module on coronary artery risk factors will increase knowledge and perception of adults.
