 Abstract

The research project delves into the intriguing realm of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), focusing on their impact on the long-term performance of acquiring companies. Employing a systematic review methodology, the study carefully selected and analyzed a diverse array of sources, ranging from academic articles to industry reports, to unveil the intricate dynamics at play. The investigation encompasses various facets, including financial performance, non-financial indicators, integration strategies, synergies, corporate culture, and more. By scrutinizing real-world examples, the project sheds light on the intricate connections between strategic decisions, operational strategies, and the ultimate financial and non-financial outcomes of merged entities. The research delves into the depths of corporate culture alignment, evaluates integration best practices, and underscores the significance of market perception. Through rigorous data analysis and comprehensive synthesis, the project aims to provide a holistic understanding of how M&A ventures shape the long-term destiny of companies, while acknowledging the limitations inherent in such explorations. The research uncovers that operational efficiency and synergy realization significantly influence post-M&A financial success, exemplified by Exxon-Mobil. Non-financial indicators, seen in Hindalco-Novelis, reveal cultural integration's transformative impact. Integration strategies, evident in Vodafone idea, shape long-term performance, while corporate culture, as in Tata Motors-Jaguar Land Rover, plays a crucial role in sustained success.

 Abstract

This paper deals with the field oriented based on the Hysteresis current controller for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Permanent magnet synchronous motor drivers are widely used for high performance applications like robotics, Electric Vehicles and in industries. The vector control of PMSM drives compared to induction motor drives is simple and effective in implementation in high-speed drives. In this paper, the field orientated control of PMSM in use of hysteresis current controller with PI controller to achieve optimized variations due to the effect of direct and quadrature axis of stator currents with the help of Park and Clarke reference frame transformation. This PAPER presents the comparative analysis of various conditions of PMSM drive and performance through simulation using MATLAB/Simulink.

 Abstract

This research paper explores the utilization of enzymatic soil stabilization to enhance the geotechnical properties of black cotton soil in the North Karnataka region. Enzymes, as organic catalysts, have shown potential in improving soil engineering qualities and fatigue behavior for sustainable pavement construction. The study focuses on the efficacy of TerraZyme, a bio-enzyme soil stabilizer, which catalytically bonds soil particles and enhances density, compaction, and strength. A systematic experimental approach involved various tests on both untreated and enzyme-treated soil, including grain size analysis, Atterberg's limit tests, compaction tests, California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests, and unconfined compression tests. Results demonstrated substantial improvements in treated soil's consistency limits, compaction characteristics, CBR values, and unconfined compressive strength. Enzyme dosage and treatment duration played significant roles in these improvements. The study underscores the potential of enzymatic soil stabilization as a promising avenue for soil enhancement in construction projects, encouraging further research into various bio-enzymes and their effects on geotechnical parameters.

 Abstract

The object of this paper is to examine the provisions of this act in relation to partition and their relevancy in present time. The partition refers to division of joint shares in the land. It is a process in which joint share in the property is divided. Partition can be made of agriculture land, residential land or commercial land. Thus, partition can be of agricultural or non-agricultural land. In different states different procedures are followed for the partition of the property. In Punjab and Haryana, partition of agriculture land paying land revenue is determined by the revenue officer. Co-owners may also make an agreement of partition with the consensus of all. Therefore, partition can be contested partition before the revenue officer or it may be of uncontested partition with the consensus of co-sharers. The Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887 amended by 2017, 2020 and 2021 contains detailed provisions for partition of the agricultural land paying land revenue. Primary method for data collection has been used under this research paper. For referring foot notes, citation style of Indian Law Institute has been followed.

 Abstract

After seeing rising cases of cancer soon it will become a global pandemic. Nowadays many therapies are available for the treatment of cancer which includes surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Many drugs are used in chemotherapy and doxorubicin is one of the most common drugs of chemotherapy for the last 50+ years. It is most commonly used for the treatment of solid tumors like breast, ovarian, bladder and thyroid and treatment of sarcomas like bone and soft tissue. It is also used in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML), Hodgkin lymphoma and small-cell lung cancers. Even though it can be used to treat some conditions, the drug doxorubicin is toxic to the majority of the body's major organs, notably the heart, which necessitates dose restriction. Additionally, doxorubicin promotes apoptosis and necrosis in normal tissue, leading to damage in the heart, liver, brain, and kidney. Toxicity can lead to congestive heart failure and gastrointestinal bleeding in some patients. Even though it can be used to treat some conditions, the drug doxorubicin is toxic to the majority of the body's major organs, notably the heart causing cardiotoxicity, which necessitates dose restriction.  Abstract

The 21st century has revolutionized the media world, and this era witnessed a fundamental shift in the way we communicate from traditional print media like newspaper, and television and the modern media like social media. British Member of Parliament, Lord Macaulay, had, years ago, called the media “the fourth pillar of democracy”. It has since been quoted often, and a free media is considered indispensable in a democracy. But the media today is not what it was then. Multiple factors have led to media organizations compromising their journalistic ethics and principles which harms the nation in a big way. Media intervention in under trial cases has become very normal affairs in the society. Judges are compelled somehow to take decision according to the follow up of Media criticism. For which, declaration of verdict by media becomes the final verdict in trial courts, especially in many high-profile cases. Reincarnated as public court, media separately starts investigation and forms public opinion. It is obvious that to run the democracy very smoothly, a free and healthy media functionary is needed. But most of the time the freedom of expression is engrossed the controversy by the sub clause (2), article 19 of the Constitution of India. It does not embrace the freedom to contempt of court. But according to the demand of current situation, media significantly involves when justice is totally denied or delayed. Though media helps in social, political changes but sometimes it is also seen frequently that media involves into the money-making business. This paper is an attempt to analyse the impacts caused by the media trial and how it takes the cover of freedom of speech and expression to continue with the undue interference with the administration of justice. The dissertation also analyses the effect of media trial on right to privacy, right to reputation, right to be legally represented and right to a fair trial.

 Abstract

Bangladesh has been facing the problems of crimes. Criminality and corruption with its diversified forms, from the very beginning of the country's independence. There are many laws related to crime but crimes are not decreasing day by day. Nature, types of crimes are increasing enormously. However the present study will lead to analyze the criminal laws of Bangladesh. The study was documentary analysis type. Data and information were collected from secondary sources such as Books, Research Report, case laws, law related Journals, Internet and different websites. From the result it was found that the criminal laws of Bangladesh is enough and up to date. But problems are lack of proper implementation, lack of accountabilities. From the result it was also evident that in keeping with the growth of human civilization, social values and knowledge of criminal behavior, the penal philosophy has shifted its emphasis from retribution to deterrence and finally to reformation and social reintegration of the deviants. Therefore, our penal laws need to be re-examined in the light of current penal philosophy of reformation. The goals of the rehabilitation of the offender, establishing restorative-justice, access to court, and crime prevention should also be acknowledged and fully integrated in our criminal justice system. The main objective of criminal justice system is not to convict the greatest possible number of accused but the main objective of a criminal law process is the search for truth, and convict the guilty and to discharge the non-guilty by seeking the truth by fair means. But recent judicial interpretation and legislative trend of withering away of presumption of innocence and other procedural safeguards as discussed above entails the risk of erroneous conviction, which may threaten the legitimacy of criminal justice system and undermine the value of criminal law. Judicial interpretation of criminal laws and principle does not indicate consistent approach to the issue of presumption of innocence. Effective functioning of criminal justice is not only conditioned by fair application of rules and procedures but also logistic support, resource mobilization, adequate managerial capacity, scientific facilities like using electronic and audio-visual equipment in investigation of criminal offences. Coordination between various actors of the criminal justice system can hardly be over-emphasized to achieve its goals.

 Abstract

The economy of Bangladesh is a major developing market economy. As the second-largest economy in South Asia, Bangladesh's economy is the 37th largest in the world in nominal terms, and 25th largest by purchasing power parity. However the present study has conducted to identify the scenario of the economic condition of Bangladesh and to provide policy recommendations for the improvement of the economy of Bangladesh. The study was documentary analysis type. Information and data were collected from secondary sources. Information and data were collected from books, research reports, journals, different annual reports, different government and non government websites and different websites of different banks. From the result it was found that the Bangladesh is seen by various financial institutions as one of the Next Eleven. It has been transitioning from being a frontier market into an emerging market. Bangladesh is a member of the South Asian Free Trade Area and the World Trade Organization. In fiscal year 2021–2022, Bangladesh registered a GDP growth rate of 7.2% after the global pandemic. Bangladesh is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Bangladesh experienced robust growth after the pandemic with macroeconomic stability, improvements in infrastructure, a growing digital economy, and growing trade flows. Tax collection remains very low, with tax revenues accounting for only 7.7% of GDP. Bangladesh's banking sector has a large amount of non-performing loans or loan defaults, which have caused a lot of concern. The private sector makes up 80% of GDP. The Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange are the two stock markets of the country. Most Bangladeshi businesses are privately owned small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) which make up 90% of all businesses. The amounts of nonperforming loans in different banks are huge. The amount of export is average but the amount of import is more than the export. For this reason the deficits in international trade balance. The amount of flow of foreign remittance is average. But it is a matter of sorrow that huge amount foreign exchange is going other developed countries of the world by illegal ways. The amount of foreign direct investment is also very few. Good governance in bank and financial institutions should be ensured. Accountabilities of the board of directors should be increased. Illegal and unethical interferences in banks and financial institutions should be stopped immediately. Exports should be increased. For this reason the number of goods and services of export items should be increased. Imports should be reduced.  Abstract

Migration is the movement from one place to another but the movement is influenced by a variety of socio-economic factors. The people's migration from one region to another for improved living standards is a key feature of human nature. While some regions and birthplaces lack developmental support of populations, then people migrate to access the emerging better opportunities. Regional inequality arises due to various reasons. Among them some are natural and some are man-made disparity. It’s quite a natural setting that investment would be attracted to development regions only. Industrialization widens the gap economy between rural and urban areas. This induces the labour migration force towards industrialized areas. There is extensive debate on the migration process that people shift to another region. Moreover, several studies show that the process of migration is also influenced by economic, social and cultural factors. The paper tries to highlight the trend of migration, probable causes and overall impact as discussed in the existing literature so far. Hence, the paper would serve as a useful guide to further future research in this area.
