"The Thousand Faces of Night" by Githa Hariharan largely focuses on the treatment of an Indian "wife" in modern life. This novel highlights how women's dreams are shattered after marriage and depicts the various oppressions faced by women in Indian society. Githa portrays women's struggles in their relationships with men, and the plot revolves around the lives of three female characters in the novel: Devi, Sita, and Mayamma. The role of their families and society in shaping their personalities from childhood onwards is also explored. The novel underscores how women have been subjugated and overshadowed within the confines of marriage, labeled as wives in order to prioritize family growth. Despite being aware of this, they do not attempt to break free from these circumstances. They survive by accepting the harsh realities surrounding them. However, the survival strategies employed by traditional and modern women to overcome challenging situations differ.

This article aims to study Gothic Literature, its origin, development, and influence on society in modern times. The genre is controversial in itself because of its irrationality and illogical means of presenting the elements and characteristics. People in the 21st century have been much more inclined toward science and technology. Every theory and concept requires proven logic and rationality to be accepted by the people. Science fiction is getting as much consideration from readers as science has shown its value and importance. So the stories with elements and themes of death, mystery, suspense, the supernatural, omens, curses, fear, and terror seem to be of little or no interest to the people. But still, this genre of literature is witnessing a warm place in the world of fiction, sometimes with more consideration than the other genres of fiction. The themes and elements of the Gothic genre have a very old and deep relationship with human lives, or, in other words, they are as old as time immemorial. The Gothic horror and stories are being presented by TV and cinema. Horror, terror, good, and evil are very common facts, even in modern times. People also prefer to read and get entertainment from stories of horror and terror. An attempt is also being made to study this genre of literature from a cinematic point of view.

The art of depiction, whether descriptive or visual, is what connects literature and film. The novel 'Umrao Jan Ada' was written by Indian author Mirza Muhammad Hadi Ruswa. It was first published in the Urdu language in 1899. This novel has been translated into numerous languages, including English and Hindi. It is one of Mirza Hadi Ruswa's most well-known works. The novel continues to have an impact on readers, researchers, and filmmakers today. Because of the novel's story, theme, plot, and fame, the filmmakers were unable to resist adapting it into a film. When director S.M. Yusuf released the film in 1958, it was used for the first time. The novel Mahendi inspired the film Mahendi, in which he displayed his exceptional artistry and techniques. An epoch in which filmmaking technology and techniques were evolving and taking shape. Yes, the director made that in 1958, but that was also a period of experimentation in the filmmaking process and an experimental period for the film's effects on society. This paper focuses on the investigation of filmmakers' cinematic adjustments to achieve the novel's core sense.

This study evaluates the performance of the perforated stiffened steel plate shear wall system, a modern global system that is effective in high-rise buildings and provides economic benefits compared to previous systems. Steel plate shear walls are an important structural element in the design of buildings. They are used to provide lateral stability and resist seismic and wind forces. The study also examines the performance of steel buildings with unstiffened and stiffened steel plate shear walls, using diagonal, horizontal, vertical, and combination of horizontal and vertical stiffeners. The building studied is a steel moment resisting frame (G+20 and G+30) designed for gravity and seismic loading, using the Indian seismic code 1893:2016. The study uses response spectrum analysis and the ETABS 20 structural analysis software to evaluate storey drifts, base shear of the structure, top storey displacement, and storey stiffness. The results are obtained to evaluate the performance of the structures.

The proliferation of digital cameras, social media platforms, and online image-sharing services has led to an enormous amount of images being created and shared every day. This explosion in the volume of images presents both opportunities and challenges, particularly in the field of content-based image retrieval (CBIR) and image management. We can have rich visual content, data input for various image related tasks and creating innovative applications. By applying cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning techniques as well as investigating cutting-edge indexing and retrieval strategies, researchers and developers are always attempting to improve CBIR algorithms. Large image files may now be stored and processed more effectively as an introduction of distributed storage and cloud computing technologies. The industry is developing quickly to take advantage of the potential provided by the abundance of visual content that is already available. This approach makes use of an image's size, texture, and dominating colors. The analysis of image data is the focus of the emerging data mining subfield known as image mining. Images can be retrieved from a vast dataset using a variety of techniques. However, they have some shortcomings. In order to extract data from images, this research uses image mining techniques including clustering and associations rules mining. Additionally, it combines multimodal elements including visual and textual components

Many processes and phenomena in chemistry, and generally in sciences, can be described by first-order differential equations. These equations are the most important and most repeatedly used to illustrate natural laws. Even though the math is the same in all cases, the student may not always easily understand the similarities because the relevant equations appear in different topics and contain different quantities and units. This text was written to present a unified view on various examples; all of them can be mathematically described by first-order differential equations. The following example is discussed like time constants of sensors.

Diabetic retinopathy, caused by damage to the retina from diabetes mellitus, is diagnosed through coloured fundus images that require trained clinicians to identify various small characteristics, making it a time-consuming task. In this research, we present a CNN-based method to detect diabetic retinopathy in fundus images. Our novel segmentation strategy using Gabor filters prepares the data for training the model, and data augmentation is used to gather enough data due to the limited dataset. Our segmentation approach identifies intricate properties in fundus images and also detects the presence of diabetic retinopathy. We utilize the ResNet50 algorithm for training the model, which is efficiently trained using a high-end Graphics Processor Unit (GPU). Our proposed method shows promising results in the detection of diabetic retinopathy, indicating its potential for use in clinical practice. On training the dataset we achieved an accuracy of 71.51 percent.

Tax – Refers to compulsory monetary contribution to the Government, charged as per legislative authority on the activity’s expenditure, income, property, etc. of individual and organization Taxes are major sources of revenues for the government. There are two types of Tax. • Direct Tax • Indirect Tax Direct taxes are taxes where liability to pay the tax to Government and burden of payment lies on the same person, it is progressive in nature – higher income, higher tax. While indirect taxes are taxes where liability to pay the Government lies on one person but the same is recovered from another person, it is regressive in nature -same tax is charged from everyone irrespective of level of income. Indirect taxation in India has witnessed a significant shift on 01 July, 2017 with introduction of a unified indirect tax regime wherein many central and state indirect taxes have been amalgamated into a single tax – Goods and Services Tax (GST). The Introduction of GST is a very remarkable step in field of indirect tax reforms in India. This paper emphasis on impact of GST on Indian economy after its implementation.

The partition of India in 1947, a momentous event etched in history, reshaped the subcontinent's landscape, society, and literature. This research paper delves into the multifaceted impact of the partition, exploring its historical underpinnings, human suffering, and enduring relevance. We navigate the largest migration in history, marked by mass violence and communal tensions, unravelling personal narratives and literary expressions that illuminate the human experience. By examining works such as Khushwant Singh's "Train to Pakistan," Saadat Hasan Manto's haunting narratives, and Salman Rushdie's allegorical "Midnight's Children," we decipher the power of literature to convey the emotional turmoil of the time. Beyond the past, the partition's consequences persist in diplomatic conflicts, cross- border relations, and contemporary literature. This paper underscores that the partition is not relegated to history; its echoes resonate in the present, underscoring the necessity of recognizing the complexities of shared human history.
