 Abstract

Ensuring all-round economic development in a state like Assam with its vast geographical diversity is a challenge. The study was undertaken to observe the socio-economic impact on the people living in the char areas, the small riverine islands are termed char and chaporis occupy an important role in the contribution to the economy of the state. These areas are heavily impacted by the yearly floods. The Brahmaputra River along with other rivers in this area is creating floods and leading to severe damage and losses to mankind. Five villages in the Lakhimpur district were selected which are near the river and more flood-prone. This paper has found that in the current scenario, the revenue from traditional sources is very low. Results show that erosion has a great impact on livelihood, agriculture, and the environment. Migration is seen to be a common phenomenon in the study area.

 Abstract

This study delves into the multifaceted realm of Emotional Intelligence (EI) as distinct from IQ, drawing from the seminal works of Goleman (1995) and Salovey and Mayer (1990). Five significant elements of EI are identified: self-awareness, handling feelings, self-motivation and control, empathy, and social competence. The research seeks to assess the EI of secondary school students in self-awareness, managing emotions, motivating oneself, empathy, and handling relationships while also investigating variations based on gender and locality. Methodologically, a survey approach is adopted, encompassing a stratified random sample of 201 secondary school students from Vizianagaram district. The Ekta Sharma Emotional Intelligence Test, recognized for its robust Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of 0.9, serves as the assessment tool. The findings shed light on the distribution of EI levels among students, revealing that 14% exhibit low, 72% moderate, and another 14% high EI. Moreover, the majority of students demonstrate moderate EI across the five components, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions. The study uncovers noteworthy disparities in EI between male and female students and between urban and rural school settings. These results underscore the significance of cultivating emotional Intelligence among students and advocate for tailored interventions to bolster emotional skills. The study's implications extend to educational practice by emphasizing the necessity of EI-focused curricular integration, teacher training, and parental involvement to foster a more emotionally intelligent learning environment.

 Abstract

The depleting ozone capacity causes more Ultra Violet (UV) rays towards the earth and can cause skin cancer. World Health Organization (WHO) states that people with skin cancer continues to increase from year to year in each decade. There are about 2-3 million non-melanoma skin cancer patients and 2 million patients with the disease melanoma skin cancer. Therefore it is necessary to detect skin cancer early to reduce the number of skin cancer sufferers. Early detection of skin cancer can be done by doctors by looking directly based on the ABCD feature, but this method is less efficient because visual response can be different for different persons, so Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) was made to help parties in detecting skin cancer. The process carried out is pre-processing by using an image or color augmentation filtering, using noise removal filtering, brightness, contrast enhancement using histogram equalization and resizing. Furthermore, the classification process is carried out using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to classify skin cancer. The study was conducted on 2808 benign skin cancer data and 2394 non-cancer malignant data totaling 5202 data. Furthermore, the data will be broken down with the distribution and divided into 80% training data and 20% testing data. The best results obtained by the proposed model using maximum of 1024 hidden layers with an accuracy value of 94.85%, and a loss of 22.96%.

 Abstract

This research is justified from the scientific field since through the development of an intelligent system will support mammographic analysis in timely detection of breast tumors thus generating an innovative idea that contributes to the science of health. From the financial field it is justified that this system is not very expensive compared to other systems that are in the technological market, it will also reduce the waiting time for a timely and early diagnosis of breast cancer, thus obtaining more patients attended that will bring high prestige to the institution. Continuing with the social sphere, it is justified since it intends to support the mammographic analysis, where there will be a minimum margin of error and in addition to helping the oncology area by having a timely diagnosis. Also this system indirectly benefit the students of the medical career, as well as the specialists in charge of this area. Finally, this present investigation is justified technologically since present technologies will be used as much as software and hardware that will allow this intelligent system to be carried out in order to support the radiologist with the mammographic analysis. However, this research on breast cancer, which successfully carried out the calculation analysis, using various models of Machine Learning like logistic regression, support vector machine, decision tree, and random forest Consequently, Logistic Regression with dependent and independent variables results in the test data accuracy value of 96%. Thereafter, SVM vide linear hyperplane determining the affected patients with breast cancer and number of predictions achieved 97% of accuracy. Subsequently, the Decision Tree modeling with Random Forest achieved 96% of accuracy collectively.

 Abstract

The concept of "irretrievable breakdown of marriage" refers to a situation in which a couple is no longer able to cohabitate as husband and wife. The two individuals involved in the case, together with one additional individual, are required to present evidence to the court indicating that the marital relationship has experienced such severe deterioration that the possibility of reconciliation is highly unlikely. To date, the prevailing legal framework in India pertaining to the matter of marital separation has not recognized a scenario when spouses find themselves in a situation where, despite cohabitating, their marriage is akin to a state of separation. Currently, there remains a lack of legislation pertaining to the irreparable dissolution of a marital union. Section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act delineates certain grounds for the dissolution of marriage. However, due to shifts in social norms and evolving societal views on the institution of marriage, the Supreme Court has expressed significant concern with the inclusion of irretrievable collapse of marriage as a valid reason for divorce. The Supreme Court, in an effort to achieve fairness and reduce the suffering of the parties involved in protracted legal battles, has ordered the dissolution of the marriage. Indeed, these instances were exceptional, as the legal framework does not specifically provide for the dissolution of marriage on grounds other than those stipulated in the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955. The dissolution of a marriage due to irretrievable breakdown is not recognized as a legal reason for divorce under the provisions of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. Due to variations in circumstances and in order to address a significant range of scenarios when marriages are effectively defunct, unless this concept is incorporated into services, divorce cannot be granted. Ultimately, the decision to include irretrievable breakdown of marriage as a valid reason for divorce lies with the Legislature. However, the Supreme Court in set a significant ruling, said divorce can be granted if a marriage is totally irrevocable, emotionally dead and beyond salvage. Thus, this paper tries to analyse the Supreme Court power under Article 142 of the Constitution on irretrievable breakdown of marriage.

 Abstract

Adorno's idea of the culture industry is fundamentally about the mass production and consumption of cultural products including music, film, television, and other types of popular entertainment. He claimed that the culture industry functions as a profit-driven structure that manipulates and controls people by creating easily consumable, standardised items that support established ideas. This research is an attempt to understand the intricacies of the relationship between culture, capitalism, and social control through Adorno's idea of the culture industry. The main argument of this study is that the specific examples and manifestations of the culture industry may change over time, the core concerns and insights of Adorno's analysis are considered relevant and continue to inform discussions about the relationship between culture, capitalism, and social control. While doing so, firstly, it explores Adorno's analysis of the culture industry that provides a critical lens through which to understand the continued influence of capitalist structures on cultural production and consumption; secondly, Adorno's research offers a provocative framework for comprehending the intricate interactions between culture, power, and capitalism by shedding light on the social and political ramifications of the culture industry; thirdly, Adorno's critique of the culture industry's impact on the distinction between high and low culture, massification, and consumerism raises important points, it is crucial to critically examine and question his analysis. The paper concludes by saying Adorno's work is crucial as a critical lens for comprehending and navigating the intricacies of contemporary culture because of the culture industry's ongoing effects on personal subjectivity, social structures, and power dynamics.
