 Abstract

Food till date is the topmost common denominator between different societies. One can find food connection through the Holy Scriptures like the Bible, the Ramayana, the Vedas, and indeed in the erudite works of Shakespeare up to 21st Century literature. One can draw multitudinous parallels between the significance of both food and literature as vehicles of cultural and social development. In short, both literature and food are means to save as well as transfigure social and artistic traditions. Shoba Narayan's Monsoon Diary: A Memoir with Recipes interweaves personal remembrances with succulent Indian recipes and reflections about Indian and American culture, culinary traditions, and her own eccentric family. This paper aims to bring out the significance of memory and culture through food in Narayan's Monsoon Diary: A Memoir with Recipes.

 Abstract

India suffers from severe impact of food inflation as nearly fifty percent of its earnings, an average household spends on food and more than sixty percent is spent by a poor on food. Thus, with the increase in food inflation the poverty level in India may sharply increase as the poor will be forced to spend more on food. Although India declared food as a legal right to its people by passing National Food Security Act (NFSA) on 5th of July, 2013 still its position in the Global Hunger Index 2021 was 101st out of 116 countries which is really poor. India's economic growth rate stood at 8.9% in 2021 as per World Bank national accounts data. Here we study the short run and long run relationship of India's food inflation in the post millennium era, with its Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), Economic Growth Rate and Consumers Spending Growth Rate. Thus, the study is based on the time data series from 2001 to 2021. With the help of the Augmented Dickey-Fuller Test, the unit root test of the time series data used for the ARDL method has been done followed by CUSUM test for testing the stability of the ARDL long run form and bounds test.

 Abstract

Abstract I will examine the notion of the friendship of Aristotle, Kant and Gadamer in this paper, and endeavour to grasp the value of the Aristotelian model of friendship. Regarding the issue, I study diverse issues of the friendship of Aristotle and related issues of Kant and Gadamer such as various kinds of friendship, a general conception, different motives of friendship, the impacts of friendship in society etc. I want to show the Aristotelian notion of friendship, its different kinds, and relations in respect of many social positions etc. There are also analyses about the notion of Kant's various kinds of friendship, self-disclosure and complete union in friendship etc. Gadamer's different relationships, solidarity and self-love etc. captured my interest too. In concluding remarks, I elaborate on the richness of the Aristotelian idea of friendship.

 Abstract

Anxiety disorders are most common diagnosis in school going children, with prevalence rate of 8%. Untreated anxiety in children can have deleterious consequences. Art therapy can be meditative and mindful practice which promotes a state of relaxation, reduces anxiety and fosters a sense of calmness especially for those who are experiencing anxiety. A quasi experimental one group pre-test post-test study was conducted with the aim to assess the effectiveness of Art therapy on anxiety among the school going children and to find out the association with selected demographic variables. Conceptual framework was based on Karl Ludwig Von Bertalarffy's General System Theory. Data was collected from 108 school going children through systematic random sampling technique before and after intervention by using Spence Children's Anxiety Scale-Child at Dr. B.R Ambedkar Primary School, Siliguri. Analysis was done by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that 28.70% of children had elevated anxiety, 27.77% had moderate anxiety and 5.55% had severe anxiety which after art therapy reduced to 9.28%, 7.40% and 2.77% respectively. Pre-test and post-test mean score is 61?8.67 and 55.78?30.81 respectively. The calculated 'r' value is 0.48 showing mild positive correlation between pre-test and post-test score which was found to be statistically significant with 't' value of 13.97*** at p<=0.001 level of significance. Significant association were found between level of anxiety with demographic variables like age and gender at p<=0.001, mother's occupation and family income at p<=0.05, child's education, parent's education and presence of care giver at p<=0.50 level of significance. The study concluded that art therapy was effective in reducing the level of anxiety among school going children.

 Abstract

At the time of the French Revolution, the press was described as the Fourth Estate in the political establishment. In our times the expanding reach of newspapers, television, radio and the internet have made the media an even stronger pillar of our political existence. With the coming into being of the television and cable-channels, the amount of publicity which any crime or suspect or accused gets in the media has reached alarming proportions. Freedom of press and Media is one of the basic guarantees provided by civil society. However in modern world the right is not limited to express ones' view through words but it also includes circulating one's views in writing or through audiovisual instrumentalities, through advertisements and through any other communication channel. It also comprises of right to information, freedom of press and Media etc. It is a right to express and self realization. In India freedom of speech and expression is mentioned in Article 19(1) (a), which falls in fundamental right category. Freedom of the press is essentially an integral part of the freedom of expression and lies at the heart of right of freedom of speech and expression, and is rightly covered within the ambit of Article 19 (1) (a) even without an express mention. The Constitution also lays down some restrictions in the form of Article 19(2), which provides that the right to freedom of speech and expression shall not affect the operation of any existing law or prevent the state from making any law insofar as such law imposes reasonable restrictions on the exercise of that right in the interests of the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of the State, friendly relations with foreign states, public decency or morality or in relation to contempt of court, defamation or incitement to offence. The present paper highlight the media freedom and interface between media and the law in India.

 Abstract

The Startup India initiative was announced by the Shri Narendra Modi Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on 15th August, 2015. The flagship initiative aims to build a strong eco-system for nurturing innovation and Startups in the country that will drive sustainable economic growth and generate large scale employment opportunities. Further to this, an action plan for Startup India has focused on areas such as "Simplification and handholding, Funding support and incentives" and "Industry-academia partnership and incubation". Indian start-ups have made their mark on the global stage. The ecosystem's rapid growth and maturity have unleashed a tremendous appetite for scalability, alternative funding options, global market expansion, and the ability to enable millions of jobs. This meteoric rise of start-ups has made India the world's third largest start-up ecosystem, and it has had a significant impact on the Indian economy, demonstrating the ability to contribute approximately 4-5 percent of India's GDP. The start-ups, like any other business, have been hit by the macroeconomic factors such as the Covid-19 pandemic, Russia-Ukraine conflict, the inflation in crude oil prices, and the changing public market valuation are some of the global factors that are slowing down the growth of the start-ups. This study aims to understand the growth of startups across the country, and the causes of startup layoffs.

 Abstract

Hypertension is frequently detected during general physical examinations at various Indonesian primary care facilities. In 2013, Riskesdas data revealed a prevalence rate of 25.8% for hypertension. Multiple risk factors, both controllable and uncontrollable, cause hypertension. Lifestyle factors (Nutrition, Psychological, Psychotic Habits, Weight) are among the controllable factors, whereas genetics and hormones cannot be altered. The greater the number of risk factors, the greater the likelihood of developing hypertension. Hypertension is also a health concern due to the public's ignorance about the condition. In fact, hypertension can increase the likelihood of developing more serious diseases, such as stroke, heart disease, blood vessel disease, kidney disease, and even vision problems. Hypertension is frequently asymptomatic, so it is not uncommon for it to be a silent killer

 Abstract

One of the best poets of the 20th century is Pablo Neruda, who was born in Chile in 1904 and is well known for his works. He captures the essence of love, desire, and the human experience in his poems by delving into the depths of human emotions. The vivid imagery, poetic language, and raw emotion of Neruda's writing are well known and have found an audience among readers all around the world. There is, however, a critical discussion surrounding the issue of sexual objectification of women in Neruda's poetry in addition to the admiration for his lyrical skill. Some of Neruda's poetry, according to critics, reduce women to mere objects of desire, diminishing their identities to only serve male gratification. They claim that these portrayals reinforce gender stereotypes and aid in the objectification of women and their marginalisation in society. Analysing specific instances that show sexual objectification is crucial for conducting a thorough examination of Neruda's poetry. This research aims to identify the underlying meanings and implications of the portrayal of women by carefully evaluating the linguistic and imagery choices made in these poems. This analysis will clarify if these occurrences are rare or common throughout Neruda's whole body of work. In my research paper, I aim to present a thorough analysis of Pablo Neruda's poems' treatment of the sexual objectification of women. This study tries to provide a thorough view of the relationship between Neruda's work and the portrayal of women by looking at specific examples, exploring the historical and cultural background, and taking into account the poet's personal experiences. With the help of this study, I can analyse the implications of sexual objectification in his writing and add to the discussion on how gender is portrayed in literature.

 Abstract

This research paper begins with the evolution of the Essential Religious Practice Test and various judicial precedents expanding and developing the essence of the doctrine. It highlights the dissenting and conflict of opinions of balancing the mantle of secularism divulged in the Indian constitution under fundamental rights of Article 25-28 and the advent of judicial activism by the dint of protection of interests of citizens under the ambit of equality and justice. It then includes comparative analysis of this test with others marking the different approach of state in the matters of religion leading to analytical study indicating the statistics of religion and state. The paper then points to the critical analysis of the test which underlines both the precedence and the dissension of the test making a dichotomy in its application in existence. It highlights the arbitrary and judge centric approach, subjectivity of interpretating religious texts, disregard of normative pluralism, rationalisation of the religion which is braced by this test but on the other side of the coin filtering of unjust and unreasonable practices that violate other fundamental rights such as Article 14 and 15, and the limitations of public order, health and morality mentioned under Article 25 justifying the origin of only protecting religious activities that are at the crux of the religion as emanated in the Essential Religious Practice Test. The paper concludes with encapsulation of the entire research paper and outlining certain suggestions or alternative practices that could be further incorporated.

 Abstract

However, the wide spread of the species is non availability of seed both hatcheries and natural sources. The possibility to collect Magur seed from natural sources has become low. Because, the gradually increasing of pesticides use in the breeding grounds of catfish. In the natural environment, it spawns once a year and the period is July-August. Now, the way of induced breeding, by creating an artificially natural environment for hatching eggs very easily. The commercially available synthetic hormone WOVA-FH has been found most efficient inducing agent for the breeding of the Clarias batrachus with high success rate. In breeding, male scarification and female stripping are the major procedure. Also, high level survival rate of Magur spawn to fry, with high care. My research shows that the breeding and rearing of Magur (Clarias batrachus) can be achieved at the village level condition using a simple low-cost technology. Since, it is a small-scale unit; a greater number of farmers can adopt the technology for producing the seed as per requirement.

 Abstract

A current field of study in computer vision and machine learning is the recognition of hand gestures and sign language for human-computer interaction. Making systems that can recognize certain gestures and utilize them to transmit information or control devices is one of its main objectives. However, hand postures are the static structure of the hand, but gestures are the dynamic movement of the hand, and gestures need to be described in the spatial and temporal domains. The two main methods used to recognize hand gestures are vision-based methods and data glove methods. A vision-based system capable of real-time sign language recognition is the major goal of this effort. The rationale behind opting for a vision-based system is that it offers a more straightforward and natural means of interaction between a person and a computer. Given that the human hand is one of the most crucial communication tools in daily life and thanks to the ongoing development of image and video processing methods, research on human-machine interaction through gesture recognition has led to the use of such technology in a huge variety of applications, including touch screens, video game consoles, virtual reality, medical applications, and sign language recognition. Deaf individuals tend to communicate with one another most naturally using sign language, however it has been noted that they have trouble interacting with hearing people in a regular fashion. In the same way that spoken language has a vocabulary of words, sign language has a vocabulary of signs.

 Abstract

Plexiform schwannomas, which makes 3% to 19% of all schwannomas, are tumors of schwann cells in the myelin sheath, can account 5% of soft tissue neoplasms. Both sexes are equally affected, and the third and sixth decades of life are the most typical times for it to occur.Diagnostic and therapeutic challenges arise because they continue to be aymptomatic; current recommendations include imaging followed by excision

 Abstract

Controlled release (CR) dosage forms have been extensively used to improve therapy with several important drugs. Incorporation of the drug in a controlled release gastroretentive dosage forms (CR-GRDF) which can remain in the gastric region for several hours would significantly prolong the gastric residence time of drugs and improve bioavailability, reduce drug waste, and enhance the solubility of drugs that are less soluble in high pH environment. Lansoprazole Floating Drug Delivery systems can be prepared by wet granulation method using HPMCK4M: Eudragit-RL100 polymer ratio and PVPK-30 as a binder, Sodium-bi-Carbonate: Citric acid as gas generating agent. The In-vitro dissolution profiles of all the prepared Lansoprazole floating drug delivery system formulations were found to extend the drug release over a period of 8 hours and the drug release rate decreased with increase in polymer concentration, it is concluded that formulation F5 (HPMCK4M: Eudragit-RL100) is the best formulation among all other formulations because it is showing very controlled release of drug from tablet formulation 99.26% of drug release in 8 hours, and floating lag time of 11seconds with a total floating time of 12 hours. concluded that the drug release from F5 (HPMCK4M: Eudragit-RL100) shows that, as HPMCK4M used in combination with Eudragit-RL100, the drug release of formulation is increases as compare to F1-F4 (HPMCK4M) & F6-F8(Eudragit-RL100: HPMCK4M). All the developed floating tablets floated up to 12 hour

 Abstract

This research paper mainly talks about Judicial Activism and the emergence of Public Interest Litigation. Going by the word Activism we mean to take action or get things done with choice. Judicial Activism speaks about the use of Judicial Power by the courts to express and impose, which is actually beneficial for the people and society at large. With the emergence of public interest litigation, the concept of judicial activism came into the limelight. In this way, only the people from the remote areas i.e, the socially and economically backward class could approach the court as they do not have enough means to get justice in our country. This article/research paper firstly describes the evolution of Judicial Activism along with its rise and growth. Then it also describes How the process of Public Interest Litigation played a vital role in delivering justice to the people. The objective of the Study - To study the emergence of Public Interest Litigation And Judicial Activism. To study the growth of Public Interest Litigation To study the problems that are faced by the Courts in entertaining Public Interest Litigation. To study how Public Interest Litigation works as an Aid to people. Putting forward the research questions, that I have elaborated in the research paper are - 1. What is the role of Public Interest Litigation and Judicial Activism in Promoting Justice? 2. How far Judiciary is able to meet the demand of people in providing solutions to their problems? The research method that I have used is doctrinal in nature where I have studied judicial activism and what lead to the emergence of Public Interest Litigation. Data has been collected from different books, articles, online sources, and magazines. More particularly, The concept of Judicial Activism has its impact on every aspect of law in India to give justice and it has also gone beyond the laws as mentioned in books. However, the difficulties faced by this process of litigation are also discussed, and keeping in mind the problem what can be the possible check and balance approach that could be taken are given as suggestions. Besides all the systems in delivering justice, it is to be kept in mind of the judiciary that they should never overstep the limitations set by the Law of Land i.e, The Constitution Of India. And as our Indian Judicial System is quite complex, it is also very important to study that How Public Interest litigation awareness can be improved and how it is important for the Judiciary to play an active role in solving the matters in dispute.

 Abstract

Abstract: Rajasthan is the richest state in the country with regards to marble deposits (1100 million tons) both in quality & quantity. Around 4000 marble mines and 1100 marble processing units, spread over major Districts of Rajasthan.1,8 Marble processing units all over the Rajasthan are generating around 5-6 million metric tons of slurry every year. To manage this huge inorganic & non-hazardous waste in gainful/productive use and options were explored. However, due to Government orders on control of environmental pollution & public awareness, these kinds of activities have reduced & now the local Marble Associations have identified the disposal sites and the generated slurry is being disposed through tankers at identified sites without spilling out on roads.4 To access the slurry management options, a preliminary survey was conducted during 13th May to 23rd May, 2021 at Kishangarh, Rajsamand, Makrana, Udaipur and Chittorgarh regions of Rajasthan. The survey followed by an interaction meet on Marble & Marble Slurry Disposal: Problem, Issues & Probable Solutions' at Kishangarh (Rajasthan) along with the representatives of Marble Associations, Cement industries & marble processing units.
