The idea of development, today, covers varied dimensions, significant among them being economic, social, political and human development. These development goals can be achieved only when changes happen in the lives of the poor at the grassroots level. For it is these people who could never take the centre-stage in the process of development and languished only in the peripheries. The idea is to bring these hitherto excluded people to the centre of development process and thereby empower them. A significant section of people believes that a way to actualizing the development paradigm in India is to achieve it through democracy and democratic decentralization. Good Governance marks a paradigm shift in the sphere of governance and the relationship between government and society. Decentralization of governmental power may be understood as a change in the organizational model; a change that could bring efficiency at the delivery end by improving inclusion through increased participation. It is also a process by which governance could be brought nearest to those who live at the lowest rungs but have continued to remain in the periphery in the whole process of development. In India local bodies and local self-governing institutions are functioning at this end. Although their efficiency level needs marked improvement it is equally true that without them one cannot think of implementing these development parameters in such huge States as ours. The proposed paper will look into the various dimensions of participation that may be considered sine qua non for development through local bodies and the potentials of and challenges to participation at the local levels pertaining to rural India and the resultant inclusion or exclusion thereof.

Abstract : Sustainable development is a necessity in contemporary era for a secure and a stable future. Brundtland Report aptly defines sustainable development. This pattern of progress is important especially for developing countries like India, where due to over escalating population, the natural resources are depleting rapidly. It is a set of 17 Goals called as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were adopted by United Nations member states to address world's most pressing socio-economic and environmental issues. Indian Government has also taken various steps to achieve Global Goals or Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Carbon Credits, Clean development mechanism, Coal Cess and National Green energy are some of the formidable steps in this direction. Society, Economy and Environment are the three pillars of every Country. Sustainability in these three aspects act as base for this pattern of progress. India aims to achieve a target of generating electricity from non-fossil fuels by the year 2030. Since last two decades due to strong government intervention and favorable economic opportunities, India is becoming one of the top contenders in renewable energy markets. In case of countries like India which are developing, economic sustainability can be achieved by recycling and efficient use of resources.

This paper through a critical review of extant literature and analysis of discourse examines the bowdlerized version of the popular colonial sport cricket, Indian Premier League (IPL) in global times. A game played for nationalistic pride has been transported to a re-invented locale that combines global market-driven consumerism, popular stardom and the enormous business potential of a popular sport called cricket. IPL allows for an intersecting of multiple discourses of the liberalized nation, the global media, transnational flow of consumerism , star power and capitalism. IPL privileges the globally circulated popular Bollywood Hindi film industry to engage in a commercial collaboration with the most popular sport of the nation. A branded sporting event of IPL is a new invented post-global avatar of a formerly colonial sport

This article, "Entangled Threads: Dynamics of Marriage and Social Entanglement in A Doll's House," explores Henrik Ibsen's revolutionary play to uncover the intricate dynamics of marriage and societal norms in the late 19th century. The analysis focuses on the relationship between Nora and Torvald Helmer, highlighting the power imbalances and traditional gender roles that underpin their seemingly ideal marriage. As Nora evolves from a subservient wife to an assertive individual, Ibsen critiques the restrictive societal expectations placed on women and the sacrifices demanded within the institution of marriage. The article also considers the broader social implications of the play, emphasizing its enduring relevance to contemporary discussions on gender equality and personal autonomy. By examining the characters' interactions and the societal context, the article reveals how Ibsen's work challenges and deconstructs the conventions of his time. Ultimately, this study illuminates the complexities of marital and social entanglements, offering insights into the continuous struggle for individual freedom and equality.

Mr. Chandru, a non-financial investor, holds a portfolio of equity stocks for long-term investment, allocating a significant portion to Tata Motors due to its potential in the electric vehicle (EV) market. The stock market responded positively to Tata Motors' news that it will be demerging its passenger vehicle (PV) and commercial vehicle (CV) business. Even though Chandru is not very knowledgeable about finance, he still wants to know how the demerger will affect his investment. Important financial indicators show that the PV and CV segments are trending positively, with significant market shares and expected sales growth. Chandru uses technical analysis, using techniques such as candlestick charts to forecast a estimated target price for Tata Motors' shares. However, he remains uncertain about increasing, holding, or selling his existing Tata Motors stock, especially considering the entitlement ratio post-demerger. In search of expert guidance, Chandru approaches a financial advisor, who takes a fee depending on the market value of his Tata Motors investment. The analysis also considers the stock's intrinsic value, incorporating risk factors such as beta, risk-free rate, and equity risk premium.
