The overall objective of this work is to analyze a composite drive shaft for power transmission. Substituting composite structures for conventional metallic structures has many advantages because of higher specific stiffness and strength of composite materials. This work deals with the replacement of conventional steel drive shafts with an epoxy composite drive shaft for an automotive application. The intention of work is to minimize the weight of drive shaft. In this present work an attempt has been made to estimate the deflection, stresses, and natural frequencies under subjected loads using FEM (CATIA). Further comparison carried out for both (cyclic and dynamic) loads using FEM. Further comparison carried out for both optimized and stress intensity factor found for both Steel and composite drive shafts.

Non-biodegradable waste has become a big problem in the world in recent years. Increased consumption of materials such as plastic, rubber, and glass in domestic and industrial operations in quickly emerging countries such as India has impacted our daily lives. Our research focuses on how to correctly use waste Rubber as a Coarse Aggregate Replacement Material in Concrete while minimising the use of coarse aggregate. By substituting rubber for coarse aggregate, the environment will be protected from rubber pollution and aggregate extraction through quarrying. This will be really beneficial to the environmental. The results of replacing fine and coarse particles in concrete mix with tyre rubber are proposed in this research. It goes through the effects of using rubberized concrete in structural elements on ultimate compressive strength. Rubcrete also has strong mechanical qualities, making it one of the most efficient and cost-effective ways to recycle used tyres. The M25 grade concrete specimen was chosen as the reference concrete specimen in this experimental study. In place of typical coarse aggregate, scrap tyre rubber chips were used as coarse aggregate.

National highways are playing a vital role in the Indian economy in terms of carrying passengers or goods from one place to another. India is a highly underrated country for having plenty of natural resources like Limestone, Coal, Red sandalwood, Gold, Herbal Products, etc. So, Highways are the key to transportation of these natural resources from origin to other places of India and any international trades in India. National highways are spread only 2% of Indian roads but carry 40% of traffic like goods or movement of people in India. There are 599 national highways in India among then national highway 44, golden quadrilateral highway, national highway 48, national highway 52, national highway34, etc are on top. The major economic development generated by national highways is toll plazas, tourism, business, and other trade marketing strategies. This paper deals with the role of national highways on the Indian economy by point outing the revenues generated through national highways.

Employing large intelligent surfaces (LISs) is a promising solution for improving the coverage and rate of future wireless systems. These surfaces comprise massive numbers of nearly-passive elements that interact with the incident signals, for example by reflecting them, in a smart way that improves the wireless system performance. Prior work focused on the design of the LIS reflection matrices assuming full channel knowledge. Estimating these channels at the LIS, however, is a key challenging problem. With the massive number of LIS elements, channel estimation or reflection beam training will be associated with (i) huge training overhead if all the LIS elements are passive (not connected to a baseband) or with (ii) prohibitive hardware complexity and power consumption if all the elements are connected to the baseband through a fully-digital or hybrid analog/digital architecture. First, a novel LIS architecture based on sparse channel sensors is proposed. In this architecture, all the LIS elements are passive except for a few elements that are active (connected to the baseband). We then develop two solutions that design the LIS reflection matrices with negligible training overhead. In the first approach, we leverage compressive sensing tools to construct the channels at all the LIS elements from the channels seen only at the active elements. In the second approach, we develop a deep-learning based solution where the LIS learns how to interact with the incident signal given the channels at the active elements, which represent the state of the environment and transmitter/receiver locations. We show that the achievable rates of the proposed solutions approach the upper bound, which assumes perfect channel knowledge, with negligible training overhead and with only a few active elements, making them promising for future LIS systems.

According to the studies conducted by the University of Chicago's Energy Policy Institute, urbanization is a major cause of air pollution, but it is inevitable. This study aims to determine the impact of air quality on land conversion in urban areas and propose a solution for enhancing the quality of air. This study examined variations in air quality resulting from different land use patterns in Bengaluru, including residential areas, forest areas, wide-open spaces, farmland, barren layouts, and plotted layouts that had vegetation. To calculate the air quality index, particle matter, PM2.5, and PM10 were measured using a Plat tower PMS5003 air quality sensor. The plotted layout with vegetation is considered the center, around the radius of 500m to 2000m surroundings with different land-use areas AQI was measured. The values are plotted and analysed. In comparison to other populated areas, the plotted layout with vegetation shows a better AQI. For the betterment of AQI, we need to design a layout in such a way that the planted trees in the layout will absorb the maximum possible PM particles from polluted air. Our proposal says that choosing trees for the layouts and planting them in the right place helps to improve the air quality index.

A. Cam is a mechanical device used to transmit motion to a follower by direct contact. The driver is called the cam and the driven member is called the follower. In a cam follower pair, the cam normally rotates while follower may translate or oscillate. The cam is a rotating part that provides reciprocating or oscillating motion to the follower by direct contact. Jumping happens when cam rotates at critical speed above certain value. At jumping, the speed is so high that the follower does not follow the cam and we get a sound of different type. The Cam-Follower material should have good thermal conductivity, thermal resistance and withstand high contact pressures. Friction composites mainly consist of about ten classes of ingredients such as, binder, fibres, friction modifiers and fillers. The proper selection of cam profile is the most important aspect in a diesel engine, as it determines the magnitude of valve lift. Hence in this case study, the cam follower material of Grey Cast Iron is tested with Stainless steel and Al2014. The main objective of the research is to find the alternative material for Grey cast iron so as to reduce the weight and maintain the strength. Hence wear analysis is done on Tribometer for wear rate and wear volume analysis.
