 Abstract

Mutagens may cause genetic changes in an organism, break the linkage and many new promising traits for the improvement of the crop plants are available. Induced genetic variability in crop plants is a valuable resource from which plant breeders can select and combine different desired characteristics to produce better crop plants. The desirable characters which have been bred through induced mutations. Various mutants have found wide acceptance, because the mutagenic treatment is needed only once to induce mutations and the varieties have the same attributes as those produced from conventional breeding techniques. In present investigation the physiological effects on seed germination and seedling height on 7th day after sowing were investigated. Gradual reduction in seed germination and seedling height was recorded with increase in dose / concentration of mutagens. Almost all the mutagenic treatments caused decrease in seed germination and seedling height.

 Abstract

Now a days, cloud computing is growing rapidly day by day where user can store big amount of data and can reduce huge capital investments in their IT infrastructure. cloud computing can store and access program over the internet without use of any hard disk, pen drive etc. which maintains direct control over the data ,which makes data secure proposed system will provide a system where it focuses on security of confidential and private data stored on the cloud. It also provide a formal analysis of fine grained updates that can support authorised auditing .Existing system also provide data auditing but it was time consuming process because system have to check whole data whether updates are going on or not in system. Proposed system divides the whole data in small blocks or chunks and will check only that particular block where exactly changes occurs. In proposed work we provide system which continuously interact with the content owner of cloud and gives continuous updates o content owner.

 Abstract

Risk is an indomitable reality which every investor should undertake to achieve returns on investment. In the equity market, risk constitutes the undiversifiable systematic risk and an avoidable unsystematic risk. There are several measures that stock analysts apply to get a better feel for a stock's risk profile. Risk-adjusted return is of how much return the investment has made in relation to the quantum of risk assumed for that investment over a given period of time. Risk measures are statistical measures that help predict investment risk. Risk-adjusted returns have a tremendous outcome on portfolios. In strong markets, stocks with lower risk than the market index can limit and have lower returns and a stock with inherent more risk than the market index may achieve enormous returns. While losses accrue in higher-risk stocks during periods of uncertainty, investors with a greater appetite for risk are can outperform their benchmarks during stable times. The article is an attempt to assess the performance of top stocks with Relative risk adjusted measures of Alpha, Information ratios, Absolute risk adjusted measures Sharpe Ratio, Treynor Ratio and certain commonly used measures as Beta, Standard Deviation, R Squared in the analysis of stocks. The paper also explicitly gives a practical explanation on the calculation of the measures and annual forecasts prices for sample included in the sample. The outcome of this paper is to create an overall understanding to the forthcoming investors on how to use these measures in practice.

 Abstract

Intentional replantation (IR) is a treatment modality for traumatized teeth or a treatment option for failed root canal over a thousand years, it is defined by Grossman (1966) as an atraumatic extraction of a tooth followed by reinsertion into its socket immediately after endodontic treatment and apical repair is done extra-orally within 15-20 mins. Intentional replantation can to be consider as a last option by some authors; whereas others consider it as another treatment modality. This case report describes intentional replantation in maxillary right central incisor ,lateral incisor and left central incisor as a treatment approach to trauma. A follow up revealed the patient to be asymptomatic, the tooth to be functional and a recall film showed no evidence of root resorption.

 Abstract

Despite Kenya having endorsed Safe Schools Declaration (2015) with a commitment to safeguard education in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in respect of the learners, teachers, facilities and infrastructure amidst armed conflict. Notably, there are experiences of violent extremist attacks targeted at educational establishments, indicating a realization shortfall. In this regard, Safe Schools Declaration (2015) intends to have a continuation of effective education amidst recognized armed conflict such as the activities of violent extremists in North Eastern Kenya. However, in the recent past, there have been continued attacks against educational establishments leading to stakeholder fear, abduction, injury, and death, besides destruction of vital educational property. So far the government has promised to increase security efforts in the affected areas, but still, there, seem to be some leakage as time and again there are reports of violent extremist attacks, reportedly targeting non-local stakeholders, particularly the teachers. This has borne negative consequences such as non-local teacher reaction by desertion, absconding duty, and seeking transfer to safer areas, earlier on within North Eastern counties, but lately outside the region. In line with this, there have been some severe violent extremist attacks leading to the deaths of 32 non-local teachers in the period 2015 to 2020 hence the national teacher employer, Teachers Service Commission (TSC), decided to transfer all non-local teachers from this area to safer regions in the country, outside North Eastern Kenya. This teacher transfer event has further worsened teacher shortage which, for Kenya as a whole has been a national challenge, crippling curriculum implementation activities towards 2020 end year national primary and secondary school examinations for children. Given the consideration that the right to life supersedes the right to education, this paper gives an overview of the educational survival position in North Eastern Kenya against the background of Kenya having endorsed Safe Schools Declaration (2015).

 Abstract

Abstract- Deviations in diversity with several diversity indices of freshwater snails Bellamya bengalensis, Mellanoides uberculata and Lymanea acuminata from Dedargaon reservoir in Dhule district were studied in summer, monsoon and winter seasons of the year. It was perceived that the diversity- density ( in the form of Shannon- Wiener index, Simpsons index and Pielous index ) of the three snails species were highest in summer, lowest in monsoon and intermediate in winter. The population density of Bellamya bengalensis, was 13, 08 and 10 o/m2 in summer, monsoon and winter season respectively. In Mellanoides uberculata, population density was found 09, 05 and 07 o/m2 of snail species while in Lymanea acuminata, it was 06, 04 and 05 o/m2 in summer, monsoon and winter season espectively. The values of Shannon- Wiener diversity index at Dedargaon reservoir were 1.0511, 1.0551 and 1.0595 during summer, monsoon and winter season respectively. The values of Simpsons index of diversity at Dedargaon reservoir were 0.6587, 0.6764 and 0.6709 during summer, monsoon and winter season respectively. The species richness at Dedargaon reservoir was 03. The values of Pielous index of evenness at Dedargaon reservoir were 0.9567, 0.9452 and 0.9604 during summer, monsoon and winter season respectively. A higher count of gastropods recorded during summer may be due to the effect of reproduction, presence of vegetation in the shallow depth, water quality, decaying vegetation, increased levels of organic matter in the sediment and higher abundance of bacteria in the water abundance of decomposers settled organic matter and macrophytes on the bottom of water body and, increased water temperature, activating the process of decomposition of these organic sediments.

 Abstract

Nursing, a profession that is globally dominated by women, encompasses the promotion of health, prevention of illness, care of physically ill, mentally ill, and disabled people of all ages, in all health care and other community settings. Very few Indian studies have concentrated on this aspect of the nursing profession. The main aim of this study is to probe the prevalence of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Discomfort among nurses. Based on primary data, a systematic exploratory study was conducted. Results revealed that the nurses experience pain in at least one part of their body over the past 12 months. Chi-Square analysis revealed Lower Back, Forearm (right), Wrist (Right), Thigh (right) and Lower Leg (Right and Left) as the significantly affected pain areas (p<0.05). The most stressful patient-handling tasks are reported as bathing patients in bed, transporting patient off unit, transferring the patient from bed to toilet, helping patient sit up and lifting patient from floor (p<0.05). As an outcome of the study that was conducted, it was suggested that Education, Awareness and Training programs on prevention and coping strategies for Musculoskeletal disorders should be made mandatory for all healthcare professionals. This will be of prime importance to ensure their good health and also to promote ef?ciency in patient care.

 Abstract

The heed administered to the patients depends on feasibility and utilization of medical equipment. The quality of care rests on proper conservation and employment of medical equipment. The intention of the study is to calculate utilization rate of medical equipment and escalating competence over defeating the factors which influence the utilization of equipment in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). Observational study was conducted at one of the leading hospitals in south zone of Tamilnadu in the year of 2020. All the equipment in Surgical Intensive Care Unit have Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) & Contractual Maintenance Contract (CMC). One by fourth of the equipment in SICU is underutilized. Medical equipment utilization paves the way to attain maximal return on wealth invested. Each and every equipment present in healthcare institutions has on urge to be entirely and properly utilized followed by periodical Preventive Maintenance periodically. In this paper, it is evident that, overall progress of heed was favorable, at the same time, there were few grey areas of negligible utilization of resources.

 Abstract

Safety is an important aspect of any vehicle, the fire hazard is one of a common threat to occupants in a vehicle. Fire hazards occur due to overheating of the engine, heating of battery, heating of brakes. This research work provides continuous monitoring of components and controlled suppression. This research work will help to improve the safety related to fire hazards in the vehicle and take appropriate action to avoid it. It gives an early alarm to the driver about abnormal condition related to fire and helps to reduce the possibility of fire. In this system contactless temperature sensor, flame detector, CO sensor, GSM module, and GPS module used and this all interfaces with a controller. This system focus on the temperature of the engine compartment and battery area. An ATmega2560 is used to get sensor information and control output devices. The test is taken with a prototype to get requirement of the system.

 Abstract

The major area that needs to be streamlined in hospital is discharge process of patients which is directly related to patients satisfaction. The aim of the study is to find out the root cause for delay, highlight the areas that needs improvement and provide suggestions. The study was done in one of the prominent hospitals in Tamilnadu for a period of 3 months. A checklist was framed and time taken for each process was recorded and analysed both for self payment and insurance patients using simple percentage analysis, simple average and quality tools. The average time taken for cash patients is 6 hrs 90 mins and insurance patients is 7 hrs 20mins. From this study, it is evident that high percentage of delay is due to vacating the room which consequently increases the waiting time of inpatients for bed allotment. Based on the findings proper training in communication skills for staff, adequate staffing and framing of policy for patients discharge are some of the recommendations given. The study concludes that delayed discharge is one of the prime factor and have an impact on ability to cut the waiting lists and deliver healthcare effectively and efficiently.

 Abstract

We live in the information era in which database size become massive due to the digital and technology revolution. Therefore, we introduce a new Enhanced hybrid algorithm which integrates the advantages of rough set theory and fuzzy set theory together with Genetic Algorithms (GAs). Our Model consists of four phases: (1) automatic attributes fuzzification, (2) Eliminate redundant attributes using rough set theory, (3) Generating Fuzzy rough rules then calculate automatically the accuracy and a fitness value (Confidence) for each rule, (4) Using the genetic algorithm for the Fuzzy rough rules to enhance their accuracy. In phase one, the user input the number of fuzzy sets of each attributes, the algorithm determine the maximum and minimum values of each attribute then calculates automatically the width (?) which divides the universe of discourse of each attribute into n intervals according to the number of fuzzy sets, after that calculates automatically the width (?i) according to the width (?). In phase two, the rough set techniques used to reduce the number of attributes that comes from phase one and produce fuzzy-rough rules. In phase three, the algorithm calculates the accuracy and the confidence (fitness value) of each fuzzy rough rule and calculates the total accuracy of all linguistic rules. In phase four, the genetic algorithm is running on the fuzzy-rough rules from phase three then it calculates the accuracy and the confidence of the new fuzzy rough rule again and calculates the total the accuracy of all rules. The accuracy of our algorithm that applied on Iris plants dataset before using our genetic algorithm from randomly 75 rows from 150 rows is 0.56 but after using our algorithm will be 0.95.
