 Abstract

The study's goal is to investigate how college students' academic achievement, stress levels, and sleep quality relate to one another. 120 college students, ages 18 to 25, made up the sample. Convenience sampling, a sort of non-probability sampling approach, was used in this study to choose samples. The sample was chosen based on accessibility. Three instruments were used in the study: the Academic Performance Scale (APS), the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Using SPSS, data analysis was carried out, Pearson correlation coefficient calculations. The purpose of the current study was to look at the connections between college-bound kids' stress levels, academic achievement, and sleep quality. The study discovered a strong positive link between academic performance and sleep quality, indicating that college-bound students' academic performance rises with increased sleep quality. Furthermore, a strong negative link was found between stress level and sleep quality, indicating that a higher stress level is associated with a lower quality of sleep. In particular, the study discovered a substantial correlation between stress levels and the quality of sleep. These results are consistent with other studies that discovered a relationship between stress levels, academic achievement, and sleep quality. This study emphasises the potential negative impacts of high levels of stress on sleep quality as well as the positive effects of sleep quality on academic performance.

 Abstract

It is becoming more widely acknowledged that spirituality and decision-making processes interact and have an impact on mental health. This abstract investigates how spirituality affects mental health and decision-making. A moral compass and increased meaning in decisions are two ways that spirituality, which is frequently associated with values, beliefs, and purpose, can direct decision-making. People who have a solid spiritual foundation typically have higher levels of resilience, coping skills, and psychological health in general. Additionally, spirituality cultivates a sense of interconnectedness that may impact decisions made regarding prosocial and altruistic actions. On the other hand, tension and cognitive dissonance can result from decisions that contradict spiritual beliefs. Developing holistic approaches to personal development and psychological interventions requires an understanding of the subtleties of spirituality's influence on mental health and decision-making.

 Abstract

The concept of a Uniform Civil Code has been discussed in our nation since independence. While some advocate for its implementation, arguing that it would unify the population and eliminate discriminatory personal practices, the issue is multifaceted. Implementing such a code could potentially suppress diversity and enforce what may seem like 'progressive' ideas onto a population perceived as 'backward.' When it comes to matters of religion, legal imposition often fails if the desire for change does not arise from within the community. Trying to rationalize personal faith is challenging. However, this does not justify hiding behind claims of diversity and religious freedom to justify outrageous customs. It is essential for both the courts and the government to intervene to safeguard fundamental rights in such situations. Nevertheless, in areas where personal beliefs are deeply ingrained, court rulings might not effectively alter perceptions. In our nation, many people strongly identify with their religion, and personal law plays a significant role in their religious identity. This vulnerability makes people highly prone to disruptions. I will endeavour to assess the feasibility of implementing a Uniform Civil Code in India and explore its potential repercussions. This assessment will be based on considerations of practicality and morality. Additionally, I will examine how individuals respond when there are attempts to alter deeply held beliefs by referencing the case of the Sabarimala temple entry. Can the Supreme Court dictate how religions should manage their affairs? If so, under what circumstances? These inquiries, along with others, will be addressed by referencing case studies, Supreme Court judgments, and scholarly opinions.

 Abstract

Money strengthens every industry to go forward in a competitive world. While business firms would like to sell their goods and services on cash, the pressure of competition and force of custom persuades them to sell on debt. Firms grant debt to facilitate sales. A firm's investment in accounts receivables depends on how much debt it allows and the time taken to collect these receivables. Accounts receivables constitute the third most important category for business firms, after plant and equipment and inventories. Hence it behooves a firm to manage its debt well. The objective of the report is to have an overview of Credit management at JN Machineries, Chennai. In order to achieve the above mentioned objective and finish the study to perfection, the methodology used was a balance of primary and secondary sources. Primary sources were the personal visits to the companies and secondary was the information collected from websites. To facilitate this, I started with reading a few books on Credit management to understand the basic concept of Receivables. I also browsed the net to find more detailed information on specific topics. I practically saw the Finance department at JN Machineries, worked and Later, I studied on various practices to understand the functioning of Finance department at that company.

 Abstract

ABSTRACT The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 has criminalised commercial prostitution in India but this law does not talk about criminalising voluntary, paid and consensual sex work. In modern times, due to the activeness of various NGOs, due to more focus on the rights of women and due to various progressive judgements of higher courts, women have been given freedom to choose their profession. In this regard, the concerned authorities have been asked to not take any legal actions on the women who are consensually involved in the profession of sex work. In the light of various ambiguities in the modern and traditional societies and due to the changing mindsets of people, it becomes necessary to analyse the legal status of the prostitution as a profession in India and it has to be found out what steps should be taken to secure the rights of sex workers and to provide them an opportunity of rehabilitation. In this paper, it has been examined whether the act of prostitution is legalised in India or not. The legal status of paid and consensual sex work is analysed. Doctrinal method of research has been followed. Indian laws and judgements of courts have been analysed. The shortcomings and loopholes in the existing legal system have been detected. It has checked how legalisation of paid and consensual sex works will solve various existing and ongoing dilemmas in the perception of people regarding sex work as profession and how legalisation will protect people involved in paid and consensual sex work.
