Facial expression provides current mind state of person. The most natural way to express emotions is using facial expressions. Human often use nonverbal cues such as hand gestures, facial expressions, and tone of the voice to express feelings in interpersonal communications. It is very time consuming and difficult to create and manage large playlists and to select songs from these playlists. Thus, it would be very helpful if the music player itself selects a song according to the current mood of the user. Thus, an application can be developed to minimize these efforts of managing playlists. In this project, we will built an application that will automatically detect the mood of the user and present him a playlist of songs, which is suitable for his current mood. The face is captured using webcam and that image is passed under different stages to detect the mood or emotion of the user. The application is thus developed in such a way that it can manage content accessed by user, analyze the image properties and determine the mood of the user.

The primary goal of Gesture Recognition is to create a system which can recognize specific human gestures and can be used to convey information or for device control. Gesture means an image of part of body. Gesture/posture Recognition is the technology that recognizes the posture of body. It recognizes hand, arms, head or any part of the body. So the goal of Gesture Recognition is to provide interface of human body with computer via mathematical algorithm. In this project we propose python based hand gesture identification and control system for the said purpose. Basically, this project is combination of a software and hardware, in which Python is the key language which we are using in software part. This project works with hand gestures through authorised person. Shown gestures are decoded by server using Python script and then, resultant output switches on the respective machine for allotted time period. Here, we are proposing Digital image processing based algorithms using python for control and identification applications. Gesture means an image of part of body. Gesture/posture Recognition is the technology that recognizes the posture of body.

Today, the world is undergoing vast changes. The technological revolution, population growth, environmental concern and more. As the population growth increases, the demand associated with it also increases. One of the demands, among the most, is owning houses. A high demand of owning houses in India is increasing. As most of the people in this country are poor, it should be a major concern to provide the people an alternative, which will reduce the cost of houses. Urgent and effective action is required to secure the demand in sustainable basis. To tackle the problem use of bamboo (shimel) as reinforcement is among the alternatives as the price of steel is becoming prohibitably high. Consequently, their utilization should be the concern of the society. Utilization driven production could ensure their sustainability. Lack of awareness about their multiple use of bamboo and lack of scientific knowledge about their production, and main mechanical properties are impediments for conservation and utilization. Consented effects are needed to generate and adopt the required knowledge and technology in order to reduce the problem of owning houses. This study is prepared to assist field personnel in the design and construction of bamboo reinforced construction mainly for low-cost houses Cost comparison between steel and asphalt coated bamboo is presented as per cost breakdown referring to the present market assessment. As per cost analysis, use of bamboo reinforcement is a better and economical alternative in view of overall cost. Finally recommendation and conclusion based on the study is forwarded.

Whether you are in residential area or industrial area, the water supply system in urban area is the conventional. As more &more demand of water is generated in urban area, weather for people or industries, the present conventional water system cannot meets the requirements. The PLC & SCADA came up with the features that can meet the need of automation in various fields. Introducing the automation technology in the day to day life can evolve the human life rapidly. Meanwhile a large amount of water is not distributed evenly due to malfunction & defects in current water supply system. This project aims at overcoming the disadvantages of existing water distribution system. This proposed automated water distribution system is used to distribute the municipal water equally to all street pipe line. So that everyone will get the equal amount of water. The set point is fixed for each pipe line. The water from the storage tank is measured with the help of level sensor. Flow sensor measures the flow rate of the water. Solenoid valve is used to open and close the valve automatically. If the Water level reaches to set point, Solenoid will be turned OFF and it will be turned ON after high indication by level sensor. Here we also identify the water theft accurately during the distribution time period. This system consists of PLC and SCADA. PLC is used to control the distribution of water. SCADA is one of the emerging technologies which are used for complete monitoring. The overall system is connected to PLC with the help of RS-232 cable. PLC gives the signal to the solenoid valve according to the set point written in the program. Sustainability of water resource has been a big issue being discuss lately. From the reason of lack of resources to the attitude of end user that frequently waste water, the problem seems not having any improvement on finding ways to at least contain it from increasing. The problem is related to poor water allocation and monitoring, inefficient use, wastage and also lack of adequate integrated water management. There are some Reason that this cannot be controllable such as raw resources and the attitude of end user. But there is an area that we can at least control it to the lowest level possible by applying better technology and management. The area that can be improved is the monitoring and management of water storage and distribution. Usually we see water pipe leaks, which results in a fountain of burst water. As a result, there will be a water shortage problem because of the pressure lost, which prevents the water from being supplied to the storage tank.

High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology has characteristics that make it especially attractive for certain transmission applications like bulk power over a long distance with minimum losses. It has inherent beauty to connect the grid who operates at different frequencies called as asynchronous interconnections, also HVDC used in long submarine cable crossings and fast power controllability. Then, the HVDC transmission has proved its potential to be an interesting alternative or complement to the AC transmission. AC transmission line control is more complicated because of the frequency and dependency of power transfer on Power Angle. DC transmission does not have these limitations, which has led to build long High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission lines. Similar to AC load flow analysis, DC load flow analysis is also important. The load flow equations and the methods of load flow analysis need to be modified while using them in DC load flow analysis.

This paper proposes the development of a home automation voice command system. The system was modelled using some of the UML elements in a way to be flexible, and adaptable towards any residence structure. That means that, any user is able to dynamically add and remove electrical devices into the system without the help of a technician. It was designed an Android cellphone application, which communicates in a local network with an Arduino board. In order to assess the system, it was built a miniaturized residence to test it in a real case scenario. The findings suggest that the system works relatively well; however, there were a few instances that the system could not recognize the content properly.

Biodiesel is an alternative to conventional diesel fuel made from renewable resources, such as non-edible vegetable oils. The oil from seeds (e.g., Jatropha and Pongamia) can be converted to a fuel commonly referred to as "Biodiesel." No engine modifications are required to use biodiesel in place of petroleum-based diesel. Biodiesel can be mixed with petroleum-based diesel in any proportion. This interest is based on a number of properties of biodiesel including the fact that it is produced from a renewable domestic source, its biodegradability, and its potential to reduce exhaust emissions. The climate change is presently an important element of energy use and development. Biodiesel is considered "climate neutral" because all of the carbon dioxide released during consumption had been sequestered out of the atmosphere during crop growth. The use of biodiesel resulted in lower emissions of unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and particulate matter. Biodiesel also increased catalytic converter efficiency in reducing particulate emissions. Chemical characterization also revealed lower levels of some toxic and reactive hydrocarbon species when biodiesel fuels were used. The fuel consumption in the world particularly in developing countries has been growing at alarming rate. Petroleum prices approaching record highs and they will deplete within few decades, it is clear that more can be done to utilize domestic non-edible oils while enhancing our energy security. The economic benefits include support to the agriculture sector, tremendous employment opportunities in plantation and processing. Jatropha and Pongamia are known just crude plants which grow on eroded soils and require a hot climate and hardly any water to survive. These are the strong reasons, enforcing the development of biodiesel plants

The safe and time efficient movement of the people and goods is dependent on Traffic flow, which is directly connected to the traffic characteristics. The three main parameters of a traffic flow are volume, speed and density. In the absence of effective planning and traffic management of the city, the current road infrastructure cannot cater the future needs of the city. Pedestrian and vehicle volumes have increased significantly in the last decade due to the change of the economics of the middle-class families. Traffic flow is studied by manual methods. For better understanding of the present status of traffic flow at the junction, traffic survey is conducted. With the help of the data collection, an attempt had been made to understand the traffic patterns during different time periods. Traffic control at that junction is also dependent on the traffic flow characteristics. Hence the results from the present study are helpful in controlling the traffic at the intersection and also in suggesting some of the remedial measures to improve the traffic safety in the region. Traffic Engineering therefore deals with the applications of scientific principles, tools, techniques and findings for safe, rapid, convenient and economic movement of people and goods.

Fire alarm system is a combination of number of devices working together to detect and warn the people through a visual and audible appliances when smoke and/or fire are present. The alarm used in such system may be activated from flame or smoke detectors and heat detectors. Alarms can be either motorized bells or wall mountable sounders or horns. Fire alarm system plays the main role in maintaining and monitoring the safety in all kinds of environments and situations. However, the usability of many existing fire alarm and detection system is well known but the primary constraint is the high cost. The main objective of this Fire Alarm Control System in Building Automation Using PLC is to make a fire control and suppression system with high reliability and low cost. The Fire Alarm Control System based on PLC has three main systems: 1) the detection of fire, 2) the monitoring system and 3) the appliance system in which the main door will get opened and lift will come to ground floor for safety purpose. The detection system operates as the fire detector. This detection system has components like bimetallic strips as a flame detector, smoke detector, and heat detector.

Aluminium matrix composites (AMCs) have gained importance in various industries because of their good properties such as wear resistance, low density, high strength and good structural rigidity. Aluminium metal matrix composites are preferred in the field of aerospace, military, automobile, marine and many other domestic applications. The aluminium matrix can be strengthen by reinforcing with hard ceramics particles like SiC, Al2O3, B4C, etc .in the present work aluminium LM6 alloy was chosen as matrix material and born carbide particulate of 25 microns size is chosen as the reinforcement with varying weight percentages. The composite is prepared by using sand casting techniques. The hardness and the impact behavior of prepare composite were examine. Hardness of AlLm6 was increased and impacted strength was decreased by addition of B4C particles. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs reveal the uniform distribution of B4C particle in aluminium alloy.
