Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a condition where abdominal content protrudes through a defect in the diaphragm which occurs as a result of incomplete fusion of pleuroperitoneal membrane during fetal development. CDH is normally diagnosed prenatally which has proven to improve the prognosis, but failure to do so can lead to serious cardiorespiratory implications in newborns. Early management after birth includes bowel decompression and prevention of development of pulmonary hypertension along with maintaining adequate oxygenation. Surgery is the only definitive treatment. We present this case report of a 4 hour old male child with severe respiratory distress who was referred from another facility requiring urgent care.

The concept of puru??rtha, is a fundamental element of Indian Philosophy, which has thoroughly been discussed in Sanskrit Literature. The ultimate end of life is to attain fourfold puru??rtha. The four puru??rthas are really four fundamental pillars of human life.We all have known that according to Hinduism there are four aims of life (puru??rtha), i.e. dharma, artha, k?ma, and mok?a. Puru??rtha means that it is desired by one puru?a or man. How to achieve this is a fundamental question. The Sanskrit texts have replied to this enquiry in many circumstances. All the explanations are meant for achieving the four goals. The proposed paper aims at discussing those points here.

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) permit us to have high exceptional site visitors facts to lessen the danger of probably vital situations. Conventional image-primarily based site visitors detection strategies have difficulties obtaining precise photographs due to attitude and historical past noise, negative lights and weather conditions. In this paper, we suggest a brand new method to correctly phase and track cars. After disposing of perspective the use of Modified Inverse Perspective Mapping (MIPM), Hough remodel is carried out to extract avenue lines and lanes. Then, Gaussian Mixture Models (GMM) are used to segment transferring items and to tackle vehicle shadow results, we observe a chromacity-based totally strategy. Finally, performance is evaluated via three one of a kind video benchmarks: personal recorded videos in Madrid and Tehran (with distinct weather situations at urban and interurban regions); and two famous public datasets (KITTI and DETRAC). Our effects imply that the proposed algorithms are strong, and greater accurate in comparison to others, mainly when going through occlusions, lighting fixtures versions and climate situations.

The contemporary trauma studies in literature digs into the individual and collective social response towards a disaster paired with post- structural, postcolonial and socio- cultural theories. The word trauma carries a more liberal sense today encompassing not just a terrible event, but also any kind of overwhelming and distressing experience. Trends in trauma and disaster studies are mostly connected with the effects on the human society and tend to ignore the other living beings. Disaster and trauma is experienced by all the living beings alike, include the humans, but the humans prove to be more privileged than the rest. This paper studies Thakazhi Sivasankarapillais Vellappokkathil, (translated as In the Flood by P. P. Raveendran) from the perspective of a disaster- affected animal by analysing his trauma instead of that of the individual. In the scenario of that great flood which shakes the normality of the entire population residing in the village, the humans are seen to be rescued in the boats. The dog is left ignored, isolated and panicked in the flood so that the dogs expressions, gestures, sounds etc. become manifestations of the traumatic experience. The dog is a perfect representation of a traumatic disaster victim which is marginalized by being unseen, unrescued and ignored by the family to which he stays loyal unto the last. The finding is that even in a disaster the barriers between the privileged and unprivileged rise up. Though not about class or caste, the species and language become factors of discrimination where the severity of trauma is represented in voices of the unheard dog rather than what is seen in the rescued humans.

Women empowerment as a concept and philosophical basis of social policy is of recent origin. But the meaning, theme and the struggle it includes is of ancient origin. The concept of womens empowerment in the modern context can be traced to the latter half of the 1970s when it was increasingly discussed and promoted by Third World feminists and womens organizations. Womens empowerment forms a theoretical framework that emphasizes the subordination of women. The significance in the role of women in development had been recognized by the Government of India right from the First Five Year Plan (1951-1956). Womens inclusion in inclusive growth is only then possible when inclusive democracy turned to be reality not the myth. In the Five Year Plan women were considered as the subject of welfare and as the weaker section of the society. In this paper attempts were made to examine and highlight the status of empowerment of women through Five Year Plans in India.

Re-visioning the mythological characters through the lens of contemporary sensibilities is a brave attempt. Many Indian mythical characters have been re-visioned and re-interpreted by the modern writers. Among them Draupadi is exceptional. This paper is an attempt to analyse the intricacies embedded in the characterization of Draupadi in the novel The Palace of Illusions written by Chitra Banarjee Divakaruni.

Arundhati Roys writings are like an infinite voice in desert place because of her valiant stand in the socio-political scenario. What is the uniqueness of her writing? She targets the root of the problem and exposes before the readers with her unique style of narration. Her voice always stands for the silenced class in society. Children are the most traumatized characters in her novel, The God of Small of Things. They are perpetually tormented in their life in different stages of their life. Their behaviour with others is reflected in different ways on different occasions. Arundhati Roy in her novel portrayed the characters of children with a deep psycho-analytic way. Estha and Rahel, the twins suffer eternally in their life due to the mental torment of the elders in the family as well as in society. Even though they have grown up, they carry the trauma in which they had undergone in their childhood days.

Cucurbitaceae family is also known as squash family. In India, it is represented by 84 species out of a total of 750 species of the world. Plants of this family are mostly used as vegetables, a few yield delicious summer fruits and a few are medicinal. In fact members of Cucurbitaceae form a source of a variety of compounds like alkaloids, flovonoids, terpenoids, glycosides tannins and saponins. In view of the medicinal importance of this family, the present investigation was undertaken. Cucurbita maxima is a giant pumpkin and locally called as kaddu. The present paper describes the findings of the antibacterial activity of this plant. The present study was conducted in the year 2016-17. The plant material was collected locally from Barwani and identified by the experts. The plants material was air-dried in shade for 60 days and powdered in a wearing blender using a mixer. The powder was stored at 40C for further analysis. The powdered material was extracted with aqueous and ethanol solvents using Soxhlet apparatus. Extraction with each solvent was carried out for 10 h. Both the solvent extracts were dissolved in 2 ml of ethanol and distilled water separately and solubility was tested. Sterile paper discs (Whatman No. 1) were dipped in the solvent extracts and aseptically placed on seeded plates. All the plates were incubated at 370C FOR 24 h. The organisms used were Bacillus subtilis (MTCC-441), Escherichia coli (MTCC-1687), Pseudomonas areogenosa (MTCC-1934), and Staphylococcus aureus (18 mm against 16 mm in aqueous extract) while all the rest three organisms selected for this study showed more inhibition zone in aqueous extract i.e. E. coli with 15 mm, Bacillus subtilis with 20 mm, and Pseudomonas areogenosa with 14 mm respectively. Thus from the present study it is inferred that Cucurbita maxima plant extracts of various solvents posses potential of folk medicinal properties. Further research work is in progress.

The Afghan government and international community (IC) have been fighting a war against the Afghan Taliban for over 15 years with no signs of weakening them which proves their strategies have failed. In order for them to win the war against the Afghan Taliban, they must re-strategize and cut off their funding resources and win over both sympathizers and the general public by reducing casualties and corruption. Dismantling the Afghan Taliban can be accomplished by taking the war to the Taliban through employing, training, and mobilizing undercover intelligence officers to infiltrate the villages and districts. This will require fewer troops on the ground and mitigate civilian and military casualties while also being cost effective. By focusing on the Taliban that operates and controls part of Afghanistan, research will prove the importance of international cooperation to eliminate the Afghan Talibans funding and promote good governance. More specifically, it will provide evidence of how they are able to successfully remain funded without government intervention, and how international cooperation can eliminate their resources and infiltrate their cells which will ultimately diminish their presence. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to explain the necessity for international cooperation to combat Taliban funding and to recruit, train, and mobilize undercover intelligence officers in order to prove what support is needed to be successful.

Cardamom , the Queen of spices , deserves special attention in Kerala economy in recent times. It fetches a historical hike in its price ranging up to Rs.5000/ Kg for higher grade variety. There are mainly two factors on which the price and profitability of this crop depends; first the international production and the second is the climatic condition. Since the demand is seemed to be almost consistent, it is the conditions of supply that matter. The volatility in the price of cardamom negatively affects all its stakeholders mainly farmers, traders and exporters .As most of the cultivators in the field belongs to small and marginal category, the question here is whether they would be able to reap the benefit of the high price which hits the market. The study here made an attempt to examine economic viability of cardamom cultivaton in Idukki district.
