 Abstract

The present study investigates the combined effects of slip and heat transfer on a Jeffery fluid through an inclined elastic tube with porous walls. The modeled governing equations are solved analytically by considering the long wavelength and small Reynolds number approximations. The closed-form solutions are obtained for total volumetric flow rate, and the theoretical determination of flux is calculated with the help of equilibrium condition given by Rubinow and Keller. A parametric analysis has been presented to study the effects of Jeffery parameter, Darcy number, the angle of inclination, velocity slip, thermal slip, amplitude ratio, Prandtl number and Eckert number on flow rate and temperature. The study reveals that an increase in the angle of inclination and Jeffery parameter has a proportional increase in the flow rate. Also, an increase in the velocity slip and thermal slip parameter has a significant role in decreasing flow rate and temperature.

 Abstract

In this paper, the method of Orthogonal Collocation on finite elements (OCFE) is used to solve the second order differential equations. Two different examples are taken to study the behaviour of OCFE method to solve the differential equations. The solutions obtained from OCFE method for first example are compared with exact solution and solutions obtained from Orthogonal Collocation method (OCM). In case of second example, the numerical solutions obtained using OCFE method is compared with solutions obtained from Orthogonal Collocation method (OCM) and bvp4c MATLAB solver.

 Abstract

The contribution of management policies and practices in relation to human, technical and material resources is no less significant. Experiences in business and service organizations however, indicate that management, comparatively speaking, bestow more time and attention to policies and systems related to production, technology, investment, inventory, marketing etc, than to human resources. Therefore, notwithstanding proven strengths in technical, financial, marketing and material areas many organizations are not able to achieve as much productivity and effectiveness as they were capable of. Despite swearing by the importance of human resources, man-management problems in these organizations seem to attract much more attention in crisis times than during peace.

 Abstract

Cloud computing and Internet of Things (IoT), two very different technologies, are both already part of our technology ecosystem The use of these technologies is set to be a corner-stone of the applications on Internet in future. A future where Cloud and IoT are merged together (for example, amazons AWS Greengrass) can disruptive and technology enabler for many application use-cases. In this paper, we focus our attention on one such application, which leverages the integration of Cloud and IoT, called smart-thermostat. The smart-thermostat is a closed-loop application which is enabled due integration of cloud technology and IoT technology. We start analyzing and discussing cloud based closed-loop IoT, the progress that has been made, and how these issues have been tackled in literature survey. We then describe system model and finally we describe implementation details (along with algorithms) of smart-thermostat. Finally, we conclude with progress this works made and future scope

 Abstract

Education plays a vital role in building of society. Modern society cannot achieve it aim of economic growth and higher cultural standards without making the most of the talents of their citizens. In a developing country like India the role of education is of signal importance in the building of the nation. Education is that conductive process which drags a person from darkness, poverty and misery by developing his individuality in all its aspects-physical, mental, emotional and social so that a person can become responsible, dynamic, resourceful and enterprising citizen of strong good society and his nation to the highest extents. Modern age is leading towards the concept that the teachers are not born only, but they can be made. The responsibility of producing teachers goes to the training institutions. The basis of standard of education is the teachers' capability and the teaching skills being used by the in-service teachers. In order to acquire these teaching skills, training is must. Various commissions and committees have pointed out different defects of training programmes in education from time to time. The ineffectiveness of the teacher training programs is evident. The present teacher-training program has no effect on classroom teaching. Sometimes the teaching is considered as an art. In this context, the existence of teaching skills in the teacher is considered as in-born. He is capable of using those teaching skills in a very natural way and efficiently. As a result of this, teacher succeeds in making his own separate image in the field of education, i.e. he emerges as a successful teacher. Sometimes the teaching is considered as a science.

 Abstract

The Indian banking sector has been facing serious problems of raising Non- Performing Assets (NPAs). The NPAs growth has a direct impact on profitability of banks. Non- performing assets are one of the major concerns for scheduled commercial banks in India. The recommendations of Narasimham committee and Verma committee, some steps have been taken to solve the problem of old NPAs in the balance sheets of the banks. It continues to be expressed from every corner that there has rarely been any systematic evaluation of the best way of tackling the problem. There seems to be no unanimity in the proper policies to be followed in resolving this problem. NPAs reflect the performance of banks. A high level of NPAs suggests high probability of a large number of credit defaults that affect the profitability and net-worth of banks and also erodes the value of the asset. NPAs affect the liquidity and profitability, in addition to posing threat on quality of asset and survival of banks. The problem of NPAs is not only affecting the banks but also the whole economy. In fact high level of NPAs in Indian banks is nothing but a reflection of the state of health of the industry and trade. It is necessary to trim down NPAs to improve the financial health in the banking system. An attempt is made in this paper to understand NPA, the status and trend of NPAs in Indian Scheduled commercial banks, The factors contributing to NPAs, reasons for high impact of NPAs on Scheduled commercial banks in India and recovery of NPAS through various channels.

 Abstract

The spectacular and unprecedented growth of FDI in the global economic landscape over the last two decades has made it an integral part of the development strategy of both the developed and developing nations. It acts as a major catalyst in the development of a country through up-gradation of technology, managerial skills and capabilities in various sectors. Rise in purchasing power, growing consumerism and brand proliferation has led to retail modernization in India. The following article talks about FDI or Foreign Direct Investment in India. Many people are in favour of FDI & many people are against it. But after taking into consideration all the arguments in favour & against FDI one can safely conclude that it has more merits than demerits attached to it & the Indian government must go for it if it wants India to progress further & become a super power.

 Abstract

This paper presents the mathematical model for analyzing the nanofluid flow over a vertical porous slender cylinder. Heat and mass transfer characteristics are considered. Flow is driven exclusively by linearly stretching the cylinder and the nanofluid model is of two phase fluid where the nanoparticles move arbitrarily and increase the energy exchange rates therefore consolidating the impacts of Brownian movement and thermophoresis. The governing cylindrical equations are transformed into coupled ordinary differential equations using suitable transformation and are solved numerically via Keller box method. The impact of physical parameters on the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are presented graphically and analyzed. To validate the numerical method, comparisons are made with the available results in the literature for some special cases and the results are found to be in excellent agreement. The analysis reveals many interesting behaviors that warrant further study on the axi-symmetric flow phenomena especially the nanofluid past a vertical slender cylinder.
